I am just wondering if anyone is using a play pen for baby to sleep in. I am due in a couple of weeks and I think I will have her sleep next to my bed in a play pen. I'm nervous because of all the talk about polyurethane and memory foam in my bed as well as the play pens and bassinets etc. All this off gassing makes me so worried about mattresses etc

I've had my DS3 sleep in a bassinet from newborn until 1.5 months. He has also slept in a pack n play (like a play pen but meant for sleeping) off and on as recently as a couple of weeks ago when we moved into our new house. He is 9mo old today!

I think it is fine, since he will be in the room with you. Trust your instincts!!

Congrats on your new baby boy!!!

I had my 3 little ones sleep in a play pen. (actually a pack and play)

For some reason there are people out there who love to terrify everyone about everything. Remember, people have babies in horribly polluted places and everything turns out ok. If you're worried about it just run a fan to keep the air circulating.

You're talking to the queen of paranoia here

Naturepedic organic waterproof protector pads, both in the crib/play pen and on our bed. Canopies around all of our beds to protect us from electro magnetic fields and radio frequencies. All organic food. A small fortune! DH keeps saying he's going to have me committed LOL.
