View Full Version : Potty shot at 12w and 5d, is it a boy?

Yesterday I had a scan at 12 weeks and 5 days. The doc. told me she couldn't tell me something about the gender because she saw no nub (for the nub theory).
So she made a potty shot and she thinks it's a boy.

I understand it looks like boy parts. But in this period (12 weeks, 5 days) is there any chance it can be a 'big' nub or something? Because the doctor was not 100% sure.

And if I search on Google the boy parts look a little different. In my pic the boy part is a straight line. Not a clear rounding at the top.

So I'm just wondering or this is 80% boy or there is a chance it might be a girl (because of the 12w, 5d and the straight line).

I'm so curious!! :)

I'm sorry but I really don't think you can tell gender from that shot, not at 12+5. All babies will have a nub at that gestation and they still look very similar. Girl nubs are often forked at the end, but sometimes boy nubs are too (and the fork is not always obvious).
It is the angle of the nub that plays a big part in gender determination, and you need a profile shot to be able to see the angle.

I know from te profile shot... But the doc couldn't make a good one. But don't you think it's a really big nub? Or is that size also possible for a girl?

I looked at some scans with boy parts and it seems like the boy parts look like a turtle. My 'boy parts' don't look like a turtle, more like a straight line. What do you think about that?

Don't you think it's to big for a penis at 12w+ 5d?

Couldn't it be the cord or the girls nub?

Yes, it could be a cord also.
