Has anyone ever considered using boric acid in a sway? Boric Acid has been shown to be very mild and safe and is recommended by many GYNs and midwives for the treatment and prevention of yeast and bacterial vaginal infections. I think that like Rephresh, it continues to keep pH low for many days.
When I had my 2 boys, I never measured my pH but I had constant yeast infections. 2 years ago, it was recommended to try boric acid capsules and since I have been using them I have not had one in the 2 years. I only use maybe 2 a month. I have not yet started the diet or supplements but have checked my pH very frequently over the last year and it is almost less than 5. Tonight, right at O, it is 5.2 which is about the highest it will get and combined with DH, it is only about 6.5.
Anyone know anything about this? I dont think it would kill sperm any more than aci-jel which contains acetic acid and ricinoleic acid.
Thoughts?

Oh and waaayyy cheaper! It costs about $2 at my local natural health store for enough to make about 30 capsules...

Yes, I think it's another option for people if they want to do that. Some people on IG were looking into boric.
I still prefer RepHresh because it's easier to use and it's formulated to continue working - I personally don't think that a boric capsule can continue to work every day but I hope people share their experiences.

http://www.probiotics-lovethatbug.com/boric-acid-capsules.html Here is a great useful link for anyone who wants to try making their own.
People may wish to buy ready-made boric acid suppositories rather than making your own capsules. Several are on the market, such as this one. http://www.taoofherbs.com/products/413/Vitanica/YeastArrest.htm . Yes, it will be more expensive that way but the more you have to handle the stuff you use for swaying, the more risk of infection you run. The boric acid probably kills most germs but just for ease of use, it seems like this would be a good option for some. Plus, it's formulated in such a way that you can't get too much of it as long as you follow the directions.
Also, boric acid is fatal if ingested, so please for anyone interested, use caution around your children and make sure they do not eat the boric acid.
Also, it can be absorbed through broken skin and reach fatal levels that way and must not be used during pregnancy. Personally, I think there are about a zillion better and safer products for swaying out there that are easier to deal with anyway.

Please note - on Wikipedia it is said to have pH of 7-10 and is only called an acid because of the way it interacts with water ions.

Ack! I just read this: Intravaginal boric acid has been associated with a 2.7- to 2.8-fold increased risk of birth defects when used during the first 4 months of pregnancy. So, guess that is a big no!

Thank you for finding that and letting us know!! Of course, for swaying you wouldn't be using it during pg but still.
Boron is absorbed thru broken skin and boron has also been linked to birth defects, so I would suspect that it's not the presence of the boric acid in the vjj that matters, it's that you absorb too much through your skin and then that causes the birth defects. NeedAGirl, if you use it regularly, you might even want to take a couple months off before you TTC.
