I just started the 60 minute a day cardio... should my husband be doing this too?

I don't think the man's diet or routine has as much impact as the woman's but running a lot seems to sway pink (esp. 30+ miles/week):

My husband is a runner and we had thought about doing this because he was already doing 25 miles per week but then he got a knee injury. :(

I think biking is also purported to sway pink because it lowers sperm count.

My husband could be a runner if he had motivation. Isn't it so funny that they have the girl and boy swimmers and yet WE have to do the dieting and exercise. Haha. what on earth!?

The entire reproductive process is unfair, IMO. In my next life I want to be a guy.

I don't know how much bike riding he would have to do.

I think long distance running can sway girl. Cycling is known to sway girl too.

Weirdly enough my friend is a bodybuilder - he's been on steroids for the best part of 20 years (bad!)
He has 7 kids....and 6 of them are girls.
His son was conceived before he got into lifting.

There's also a famous bodybuilder called Ronnie Coleman, he has 5 or 6 girls.

It's probably coincidence, but I see a lot of the really big guys at our gym have daughters.
I wonder if it's because of the weights, or the steroids, or just that I notice it because I am desperate for a girl lol

I'd say it would be the steroids! Hmm I wonder if I can slip some roids into hubby's coffee? Jks :D

So if I started making my husband run 30+ miles a week... How far in advance would he have to do this? He is a great runner he just hates running haha.

It takes 2 1/2-3 months for sperm to mature so I would guess that's how long he would have to keep up the running schedule.

I've noticed the same thing about bodybuilders having daughters. If it's steroid use that does it that's pretty sad because steroids are truly terrible for your body and mind. And they shrink your testicles!

My husband lifts weights but he isn't a bodybuilder and when he tries to add muscle he always does boy-friendly things like protein shakes after a workout.

Ahh that's so long. I want to TTC sooner. Do you know about bicycling?

I think cycling would be either or. I think doing it a lot over time would help, but anytime that the parts get hot or compressed there's a decrease in sperm count, which tends to sway pink.

Running and cycling does seem to sway pink, they don't need to do 60 minutes but like trifecta mentions more running is better than less.

I am going to cover all this in your sway plan. Not all guys can or should exercise (and most won't LOL)

We don't know, but yes, anecdotally I have seen and had it reported to me time after time that weight lifting by husbands = way, way more girls.

We should be careful to look at it with a wider view though as I also see many really super "manly men" having tons of girls (as anyone who has ever walked into a Cabela's may have also noticed) these hunting, fishing, 4wheeling guys who have 4 daughters in tow LOL. Same with cops and firefighters and soldiers. And the wives are always really thin, gorgeous, and perfect and just "look" like they should make lots of beautiful daughters. So I do think of this from a totally different perspective that it ~may!~ be something to do with the wives and not the husbands at all...as in maybe the manly men like "Mary" instead of "Martha" but totally sheer speculation and please don't yell at me for generalizing LOL, this is a generalizing gig here looking for similarities and it's something I kinda have to do. :)

:agree: We don't know that it's something that has to be done for the entire lifespan of a sperm. I generally use that idea more for blue swayers - they should have their hubs avoid spermy badness for the full 72 or so days, but pink swayers even if something happens just one time along the way, it will damage whatever sperm are hanging out in there (which is all of them LOL)

It actually makes perfect sense, because they only have to show up to make a deposit, but it is our body who carries and grows the baby for 9 months inside of us, and nurses it for 9-18 months after that if not longer (in nature, anyway) , and in practically all mammals everywhere, the baby stays with the mom till adulthood while the dad is not always present (meaning our environment is very probably going to be what the baby is living in while the male may not be there.) Since male offspring require more nutrition from the moment of conception all through life, if a mother's environment is harsher, she'll have more daughters as a result since daughters need less nutrition and also do not have to grow up to be as big and strong as possible to compete for mates. :)

It's so primitive! Crazy! So fascinating, thank you! I really love learning all about this stuff!

LOL, isn't that the truth! There's always men in there trailing a bunch of little girls in pink camoflauge!

I must admit being sorely tempted to take a hidden camera in there and taking pictures to prove it because a lot of the country is not Cabelas-y LOL.

This is one thing I noticed long before I ever even had GD!!

My Mums friend is a hunter, and his wife is a seamstress (very tiny, meek and mild), they have 9 daughters...he was really holding out for that boy lol
