Hi

I'm Isabel, 30, and I have one little boy.

I am currently pregnant and I wish I had found you sooner. I am really hoping I have got a girl in there and after reading this site, SOME things have lined up well for conceiving a girl such as the fact I had sex only once and generally have a lowish calorie diet. One thing that has MAJORLY made me think I'm definitely having another boy is this...

For as long as I can remember (years none stop) I have eaten weetabix choc chip minis. I have them every single day. Without fail.

I looked on the box and they contain Iron, folic acid, and vitamins b1, b2 and b3.

I now have gathered that this is very very bad for a girl and I Feel like I should just tell myself I'm having another boy? I read studies online on this and apparently you are 85% more likely to have a boy with these kind of cereals.

I know there is nothing I can do about it now, and when we next try for a baby in the future I will avoid them, but I just wondered if any mums of girls here, ate breakfast cereal when they conceived to maybe give me a glimmer of hope?

Thank you ladies.

So while I wasn't a breakfast or cereal eater ever, my mom always eats a bowl of cereal in the morning -- and she had 3 girls! She had an overall LE lifestyle.

It's never one thing. I had a super boy DTD pattern before my daughter, lifted weights, had a super boy mom personality... but I had much more girl sway stuff happening to trump it.

Thank you for replying Throwaway_panther.

I guess some fortified cereals have even more than that, cornflakes for example have vitamins C, D, B6 and B12 which I suppose the weetabix doesn't have.

But still, Ive had far too many nutrients stored up in my body and this is exactly what I ate when I got my little boy.

I know it doesn't come down to just one thing, but I've read that cereal is a massive no no for a girl so I've lost all confidence that I will have one lol.

Hi and welcome, Isabel!

I got boys eating breakfast cereal but hope is not lost. It is your overall diet that sways and NOT one magic food in isolation.

The study you are referring to was NOT done in women who were eating pink-friendly diets and then a little cereal. Those women were eating lots of foods and more nutrients across the boards. It is your overall diet that matters and you absolutely can still get girls eating cereal. Most of our blue sway opposites were chowing down on cereal!
