Hi ladies :) hope you're all doing well. I am 19+3 weeks pregnant and hope I'm posting in the right place. If not, please redirect me.
My nub pic at 12+4 suggests girl and a potty shot at 17 weeks has 3 lines so looks like it most likely a girl. I'm hoping that it was just the angle that made it look like a girl at 17 weeks and still clinging on to hope that it's a boy. I have pics but not sure how to post. I've googled and found quite a few potty shots with 3 lines but ended up being a boy. I have my next scan in 5 days and hoping my wish comes true.
Has anyone had a boy with 3 lines? Could you post a pic?
Thanks for your time xx

I have 3 boys, and they never had 3 lines. Every time I had an ultrasound anywhere from 13w to 13w5d, they had a clearly visible scrotum and penis. Now, the techs wouldn't comment on the gender since it wasn't 15 weeks. But it showed clear "boy parts" every time.
FX and GL to you!

Thanks for your reply. I already have a son aged 17 and 3 girls aged 13,10&9. I'm getting used to the fact it's a girl but still hoping it was wrong xx

12+4 is very unreliable, many boys are still very girly looking then.
Potty shot at 17 weeks is more reliable but the pics are not always reliable. Did the tech give you a guess?? They see a lot more in the scans than one pic in isolation.
Good luck and still sending blue dust!

At my 13 week scan for all 3 of my boys I was clearly able to see the penis. I have 3 boys and cried the last two times. It's amazing how some of us seem to make mostly girls and some mostly boys. I would die for a girl!

Well the tech acted like she couldn't be bothered to thoroughly check. As soon as I saw 3 lines, I immediately said 'it's a girl' and she just said yep and that was that. She printed off some pics and sent me on my way. I've studied the potty shot and I just think that the 3 lines stick out to far. Or am I just thinking to much into it. I go for my 20 week scan tomorrow and I just hope it's a definite girl or boy bit that we see. I'm getting used to it being a girl but I still wish it was a boy. Will try and attach my pic.

i think 2 of the lines are actually leg bone tbh...i think you still have a chance..that 'middle' piece is a bit bigger than what ive seen with my 3 girl ultrasounds...

Congrats on ur new baby to come! Enjoy ur girls cause people like me would die for one! Of course I know the feeling, having all of the same gender, it's only normal to want the other too, but from my observations, girls grow old with their moms and boys marry off and pretty much get busy with their own lives. Of course that's generalizing but that's the way I feel. I feel like my 3 sons will get married and I'll be left all alone.

In my husbands case and most Mom's of boys I know were very close to their Mom's. I can only think of a few who were not. I wonder where this saying came from. It seems it is more based off fear that the wife will replace you. I don't think that a Mother or father relationship could be replaced unless their was not a good relationship to begin with.

I completely agree with you KTS. Both boys and girls can be very close with their parents and in a lot of countries it is the son that stays with the parents and the daughter goes off.
I have 2 adult sons and I am still very close with them (not in a weird way). I talk to them on the phone nearly every day and they're really my truest friends.
I think this is just one of those things people say that is right up there with "are ya working hard, or are ya hardly working"...without any thought to it, just something that people have heard somewhere along the way with no basis in reality. :)
