This is my first month taking vitex. I started on cd1 and am now on cd10. I have noticed that my face is breaking out,I've gained 2lbs and I've been more emotional. I normally have a very regular 28-29 day cycle and positive opk around cycle day 12 or 13. I also know that my body has strong reactions to hormone shifts (reactions to birth control, monthly migraines, etc). So, I'm trying to figure out if this means vitex will be good for a girl sway for me or not?

I'm thinking it's definitely doing something. I stopped taking it after cycle day 10 and my face is clearing up and my mood is back to normal. I'm guessing my progesterone levels are very high when I take vitex and that caused the breakout.

A lot of people do report hormonal changes with Vitex. I felt like it gave me horrible PMS and then other people said it made it better for them. Several people felt depressed or anxious while taking it.

The thing with vitex is, while I do think it sways pink, our results have been barely better than 50-50. It can also make your cycle haywire. So at any point in time if you're feeling that it's not worth it for you, I'd go ahead and drop it.

FWIW I took it twice and got 1 boy and 1 girl using it. I got 3 boys without using it. It never comes down to one thing, but I did feel like the vitex did something to help sway pink for me. But I was one of the lucky ones and it really didn't mess up my ovulation that much (it delayed it a bit but always came immediately after I stopped it.) A ton of other people are finding the vitex is delaying or even stopping their O to such an extent that it may just not be worth it.
