View Full Version : EWCM

Hi, I am really interested in EWCM and conceiving boys. I recognise there will always be exceptions to the rule but, in general, do those of you that have mainly boys have lots of EWCM. I am convinced that is one of the main reasons I have two boys and why 2-3 days cutoff doesn't work that well (still lots of EWCM) and perhaps why 0+12 works (the EWCM is gone)? Do you think I am better off DTD when I don't have the EWCM to get a girl (I know you need some to conceive but I mean when it is literally pouring out - sorry TMI!!)? I am also doing the LE diet, starting exercise, skipping breakfast (how important is this? - I am really struggling - I get very faint, weak when I don't eat for long periods and VERY grumpy!!) and trying to drink a bit of coffee (yuk) and alcohol (I am not really a drinker). Can you have sugar and milk in your coffee if you drink it at the same time as a meal (not in the bits when you are 'fasting')? Oh and also trying to change my personality so once I am sorted with my methods/approach I want to forget about swaying as much as possible and just relax!! Thanks for all the help everyone!

Hi :)
I have 4 boys and lots of EWCM for about 4 days around ovulation. Currently 9 weeks pregnant with baby #5 and praying for pink this time! Hopefully the other sway tactics worked despite the copious EWCM lol.

I have 3 boys & always have a tonne of ewcm around ov too. This diet has made me starving, grumpy, caused me to lose weight & given me a yeast infection but has not reduced my ewcm either.... I'm hoping too that it's enough, plus the only dtd once in fertile period thing (all boys conceived traditional way to get pg = lots of dtd)!
Good luck.

Re the coffee - I have been having mine with a little milk & honey (I know not allowed but I don't like the taste of sugar and it's only a tiny bit), a cup at breakfast time & another midmorning. Still feeling absolutely starving/weak by lunch, so don't think I'd cope with just black coffee!

Thanks for the replies. I'm glad it's not just me struggling with this not eating stuff. Also finding it next to impossible to keep that low on protein - what can I actually eat??!! (other than carbs carbs carbs!!) So did/are you still dtd when you have the EWCM or trying to avoid it? Have you tried antihistamines to dry it up a bit?

I don't know, I'm afraid, I'm doing more of a PCOS variety, so I can bung in a bit more protein...but I think the fact that I'm having so much less than I used to is the reason I feel so rubbish and I now know why my mum is so moody (she doesn't like meat and mostly eats veggies & olive oil with the odd binge on biscuits)!
Re the dtd. Our first attempt will be mid Dec so haven't tried the antihistamines yet. Plan to do them, plus 1 attempt at opk+ and hope for best, regardless of ewcm. I don't trust myself to get the timing right for O+12.

0+12 doesn't work and if I had waited till I had no EWCM, I would never have conceived my daughter because I had EWCM for 2 days after I ovulated with her.
I got my 4th boy with no EWCM (I was testing several times a day and saw nothing and did not even know I'd ovulated) and then had some with my girl. There may be a small trend in that direction but I think you're barking up the wrong tree if you put too much emphasis on it. You do need some EWCM to get pregnant at all and I've seen plenty of women with gobs of EWCM who have daughters. Diet and exercise may end up cutting back on that as that is what has happened with most of us.
The reason timing doesn't work, is because it probably just doesn't work. Most of us on here have 2,3,4 or more timing opposites and any reliable science done after the turn of the milennia has proven it doesn't work.
All you need to do is just push your breakfast back. Even if it's just an hour or two. Most of the time when people are struggling it's because they are not eating enough, and trying to not eat often enough. 3 meals is still allowed on LE Diet, you just squish them into a smaller time. and if you try 3 meals and can't do it, then please just add in breakfast or even a 4th meal if you need to. It's still going to be very different from eating all day long.
You can have sugar and milk in coffee with meals, and milk alone in coffee all the time. Personally, I put sugar and milk in my morning coffee too. It's not what I recommend but I wanted to so I did. Got a girl.
You cannot change your personality, please don't try. The only reason why I ever even mention the personality stuff is to prevent people from doing the massive, all encompassing, kitchen sink kind of sways that I believe actually undermine success rates. The more you try to make a "perfect" sway, the worse results we seemed to get, and laid back sways are def. the way to go. :agree:

Thank you for this. I started out too hard on the diet but am being more sensible now and finding it a bit easier - it's just a big change for me I suppose. I suppose I am just nervous about the timing and EWCM because I conceived both boys with lots of EWCM at ovulation so am reluctant to repeat this (even if it has nothing to do with why we got boys!) I am still thinking I might try a cut off....Strangely enough, I've had no EWCM so far this month, not sure if I've ovulated or not yet (temps are quite up and down anyway) but would normally be around this time. Am thinking of TTC next month - would have been on diet about 6 weeks. I know it's not ideal but I don't know how long I can keep the 60 mins of exercise up and also don't have much weight to lose and do find the diet quite hard. I wonder if a strict sway for a shorter time is better than a longer more slack one?

I conceived four boys with tons of ewcm...like it would hang six inches of the toilet paper! Two I had a fair amount of ewcm and number seven I was dry as a bone but not sure what was happening at my cervix thiscwas strictly what I got when I wiped.

Very interesting! Obviously not about the EWCM then!! Did you sway with any of your boys?

With the coffee to ttc girl, I recently cut out coffee on advice from a fertility gender sway specialist who still invests heavily in timing and IG diet.
One benefit from cutting out the coffee is that it helped me get pregnant (even though I ended up miscarrying at 7 weeks).
I'm going back into coffee again as per atomic's advice that it does strongly sway for girl but have a few questions.
1. What are your thoughts on coffee reducing fertility?
2. Atomic mentioned that you need to drink 3 cups a day for it to show best evidence for girl sway, is that the same for all (ie. those who previously drank coffee and those who don't usually drink coffee?)
Ie. can someone who doesn't drink coffee at all get away with less cups (ie. just one a day)?

As far as I understand - the reason behind the coffee is that it does reduce fertility and that's why it sways pink (anything that makes you less fertile sways pink). I only manage two cups a day but used to drink none so hoping it is the change that matters. If you are having trouble with fertility in the first place, I don't know how wise the coffee is?? Hopefully someone else can answer that. What does your specialist say about timing then? I am interested as in the stats, 14 out of 16 people who did 4 or more days before ovulation did get a girl. Although I know it is hard to get pregnant at all at this time....

1)I am not sure that coffee is the reason why you had miscarriages though. I don't know how it works, only that it is seeming to. It may not be lowering fertility. That is just a theory. I hate to see you guys get so overly focused on the theory (which are guesses about how something works) that we lose sight of just doing what is working. Coffee has gotten good results for us. Don't know why!
2) I think it's fine for anyone not used to coffee to have only 1 cup a day. I don't know if it sways as strongly, but certainly it would be better than not having any.

I answered your question about timing in depth in a different thread - but short version - we have no idea when the people who reported their data in our statistics actually ovulated and neither do they.
I base my recommendations on studies that use modern technology to detect ovulation and they say timing doesn't work. Studies in which ovulation is pinned down chemically or via ultrasound are far more reliable than those that just have some random person guessing about when they had an attempt in relation to their ovulation.
You are always welcome to do timing if you like, but please do not base your swaying decisions on something in our stats that cannot be verified as true with any level of certaintly.
