We think the first pic is girl but the other 2 look boyish? (The potty shots) but in the 3D scan my husband seems to think the umbilical cord goes between the legs and now we are worrying that what you can see in the potty shots is the umbilical cord [emoji30]

What you have to understand about ultrasounds is that if they're zoomed in on something trying to capture it, some parts of the body are invisible. You can see in the potty shot that looks girly, your baby also seems to have no feet LOL. Now this doesn't mean your baby is a footless wonder, it's because they were trying to capture the thigh bones in that shot (which they do for diagnostic reasons) and so their focus was not on the genitals or the tootsies, but on the thigh bones and thus that is what is being captured. in the shots where the genitals were being specifically photographed, those both appear boyish to me. obviously no ultrasounds are 100% (and 15 w is a bit on the early side, I prefer 18-20 for confirmation) but I think that is just a quirk of the ultrasound.

Thank you that really makes sense! I don't even know why I didn't think of that [emoji85] what about the 3D one? Can you see any boy bits? X

Did you get any video with your 3d scan? Sometimes that can help with watching it as they were looking at the gentials

I can definitely understand his worry with that first picture, LOL. But pics 2 and 3 definitely show boy. The 3D pics don't show gender, and 3D is usually not good for gender determination anyway. If the tech said boy, I'm sure it's a boy :)

I had a potty shot exactly like that with baby boy 3 and was convincing myself he was a girl! Nope, very much a boy! I'd say from the others you can safely say boy :)

As I said, no gender visible in the 3D pic. Only cord and legs.

I agree, you are seeing legs and umbilical in 3D, not a willie at all.

3d ultrasounds are useless for gender. Very hard to tell anything on those. Please don't worry about the 3d ones any more
