I am a big breakfast person, a very healthy eater over all (probably why I have a DS!) I started the diet last week, and the hardest part has been skipping breakfast. I am used to a cup of coffee and fruit, oatmeal, yogurt, etc. I have stopped eating anything until noon, but I am having a hard time giving up coffee. Is there something else, preferably warm, that I could drink in the morning that would still sway and not raise blood sugar?

you could always have decaf coffee? or a peppermint tea?
if it's really difficult to drop you could try gradually pushing it out later and later? i.e. have food at 9am for a week, then 10am, then 11am, etc.?

A cup of coffee or water to fill your belly up and it helps to get out of the house and get busy. I did do this a lot not because I wasn't hungry but due to time constraints.

I am not having trouble skipping the food, just the coffee, but I heard coffee is not good for pink, the caffiene blocks calcium absoption and even decaf has a lot of antioxidants, plus I put half and half in it, and I know the fat doesn;t help. Maybe tea with splenda would be better?

I drank coffee in the morning as part of my sway - I couldn't have survived the morning without food without it. I also had tons of Diet Pepsi throughout the day which contains caffeine but still sways pink.

I thought it was diet coke that swayed pink? Does diet coke have aspertame too?

Both Diet Coke and Diet Pepsi sway the same - I just prefer the taste of Diet Pepsi.

I drank 2 coffees a day (I wasn't bothered about the calcium absorption thing because that wasn't part of my sway and I've read you'd have to drink a ridiculous amount of caffeine to block calcium anyway!). I also drank lots of diet coke or pepsi.

I have been trying to drink diet coke, but aspertame gives me massive migraines. I can drink one per day, anymore and I have to lie down the rest of the day my head throbs so bad!

I have a black decaf tea when I wake up and a decaf coffee around 10. I was a big breakfast eater too, always had a big bowl of yoghurt and cereal but I got used easily to skipping breakfast. For me it really is all about keeping yourself busy and getting out of the house.
I think itīs better to drink some coffee and get in more antioxidants if you have a hard time skipping breakfast, it would be worse if you would cave and eat. You could just have the coffee for a week or two and then try to take it out. Good luck!

Does it have to be diet Coke or Pepsi? What about other diet pops like diet 7up?

I've checked those and Diet 7up, Diet Sprite, and Sprite Zero are all good too

I don't think you need to give up coffee if you use artificial sweetener in it.

The idea that caffeine blocks calcium absorption has been debunked - you seriously would have to drink a fatal amount of coffee before it messes with your calcium.
Weirdly, the half-and half is actually not terrible for blood sugar because it has no carbs, so if you count it in your days' cals and fat intake and then use artificial sweetener, it's ok.
Coffee does have antioxidants but you have to eat SOMETHING and even the most hardcore girl moms ate some food with some antioxidants in it. Lower nutrients doesn't mean NO nutrients.

Don't drink it any more - stating the obvious but your body is telling you something there. You don't need it, most of the baby girls conceived on the face of the globe throughout history were done without the use of aspartame!!!

:agree: A LOT of the pink mamas have big caffeine habits. There's no way it sways strongly blue.
