Ive had my period for 2 weeks today! I miscarried at 12+6 - which lasted about 4 weeks. My Doc said AF would be heavier and possibly longer but said to go back if its any longer than 2 weeks. So, just wondering if anyone has been through this and how long you had your AF for? Im going to doc on Monday if this carries on over the weekend. x

Before my miscarriage my cycles were 26 days and i had AF for 4 days.

My 1st AF after all my miscarriages was just the normal length for me which is about 4 days. Two weeks does sound like a very long time but I am only going by my own experiences.

I had a mc at a little over 10 weeks. I didn't bleed for more than a week. My usual AF length was about 4-5 days then. Two weeks seems long to me too.

GL with the Dr appt. Sorry for your loss.

I bled for a week, the first two days being very heavy. I was only about 6-7 weeks, though. My usual postpartum AF is about ~4-5 days, with the last day usually being pantyliner worthy *if* that.

I'd call just to be sure. It's possible your body's having a hard time adjusting to the hormones post-miscarriage, or there was maybe some extra lining still? Ultimately, it's not normal for you and has caused you concern, so I'd at least call to try and talk with a nurse.

Thanks very much ladies :)

Chatted to my GP over the phone and he has referred me for a scan. I have to wait for a letter for an appointment and im hoping AF goes away before then.
Its not heavy and nothing sinister going on.. just been going on forever now xx

I did not bleed that long after my miscarriages (like a long and heavy period like 5 days or so, but both were early) but I bled and bled tons postpartum. Way longer than normal - 8-10 weeks except with my last one. I think some of us do just tend to bleed a lot more after things like that. I do think you need to get scanned though in case of retained tissue and in the meantime if you feel at all unwell, especially if you have a fever and no one else in the house is sick, get thee to the ER immediately and explain the situation and refuse to leave until you've been seen. :nyd:

Turns out i have retained products. Doc has put me on Utovlan for two weeks to stop the bleeding! Sigh! My period after that should get rid of what is left.

Any one know anything about Utovlan? Im thinking progesterone..

thank you for updating us, it's very helpful to others in the same boat.

Yes, it's progesterone, it will trick your body into thinking you're in the LP and the bleeding will slow. then you'll stop it and get a bleed (not really AF) and then you'll slough off the retained tissue.
