I have chronic bacterial vaginosis and yeast, so my gyn. put me on a probiotic, which I insert vaginally.....does this sway?
Thanks ladies!

I'm not sure about the pro biotic but I think the infection itself can make you acidic hence swaying pink?

Hi, I had a vag bacteria awhile ago and the doctor told me that my ph is higher which would sway boy. Not sure on yeast or probiotics but if you think about it the doctor gave you probiotics for it to make your ph go down or back to normal

IOt would depend on the formulation of the individual suppository and what is in them. Some are very acidic and would sway pink, while others are highly alkaline. (yeast don't like either very acid or very alkaline)
Yeast infections are a rather complicated issue when swaying and I wrote an essay about it here:

I seem to remember at IG a caution about using pro-biotics because for some they can cause higher pH and others may cause lower pH. I ate pro-biotics through yogurt and also took supplements during separate cycles. Both slightly raised my pH. When we sway for a girl, I will not use them.

Fresas, you're exactly right that some people did report a change in pH with the probiotics BUT over the course of time those who continued taking them, often had that even out as the good bugs established themselves and the bad ones died out. I should def. have added that as a caution - if your sway is imminent, you may not want to start taking them without enough time to monitor what happens to your pH and give it time to even out.
The other downside of probiotics is that they live in your intestines and can help your body to digest certain nutrients that it cannot digest otherwise but the fact is that the good bacteria are already in there doing that digesting anyway and I don't think a few more are going to make very much of a difference on that. Plus if you're eating even one yogurt a day, you're already getting them and I figure why not take enough to keep the good critters ahead of the bad ones.
The reason why I do like them for pink swayers is twofold - firstly because the pink diet can be rough on the stomach and also because swaying in general can cause YI and the probiotics will help to stop that from happening. I like them for blue swayers for the exact same reasons!!!

Like you, I have 3 boys & have struggled with bacterial vaginosis. I've decided this is because my husband is SO basic... 9 or 10, consistently. I also think this is why I have 3 boys!
I recently made a connection between high pH = BV & low pH = yeast infections. I'm not sure why your body is swinging between both...because it's the opposite problem. With me, after we have sex, I use a lime tampon to soak up his sperm & bring down the pH of me. Haven't had a BV infection since.

I just wanted to let you guys know that Minerva's Mommy from IG has recurrent BV that is resistant to antibiotics and has 2 girls, so it is very possible to conceive a girl even with chronic, untreatable BV.

I'm wondering if there are any updated results on this . Yesterday I came down with BV and today it seems worse . . I got rephresh as I read that helps but I will be going to the doctor on Monday and not sure what he will give me . I am expected to ovulate in 5 days and I'm freaking out . I've worked so hard for the last 12 weeks to give me best odds and now I feel it is being compromised . I'm scared I won't even ovulate plus affect my girl sway . I'm planning on rephresh tonight ( I was hoping to skip it this month but now I just want to keep this bv under control . ) what should I do ? Is this going to sway blue if I even ovulate ?

The update is that I believe more than ever they sway blue and should be avoided.
The thing is that oral probiotics are not going to help you cure BV if you start them now. Probiotics are not magic remedies, they have to get into your guts, set up shop, start coming out in BMs, and then very slowly grow out and into the VJ. This takes weeks and maybe longer. So you will need to have a cure, probably antibiotic if it is BV, if it's a bad YI they will give you an anti-fungal
It won't keep you from ovulating.
No one knows if or how these things sway. If you're going to live 1000 lifetimes of regret if you try and get an opposite, then skip it.

Well, I think you're having some confusion there because high alkaline is high pH.

Just used ph strip and it shows very high alkaline
I have not found measuring pH to be at all predictive of sway outcomes. We have had too many opposites with pH strips (myself included, I got a boy with pH of 4-5 that never went up till after I was already pregnant) for me to use them as any kind of guideline.

Do you mean you believe that probiotics are swaying boy more than ever or bv ?
The ph strips I used are
For hot tubs . The bottom measured alkaline which showed high and the second line measured very low ph . This is why I'm confused . I understand alkaline means high ph but it says differently on the strip . Does rephresh help bv ?

Probiotics have been a strong blue sway for us.
pH strips are weird that way sometimes.
RepHResh can help prevent but won't cure (at least not in a timely manner) so you need the antibiotics. RepHresh has a nice little article about it here. Yeast Infection vs. Bacterial Vaginosis | RepHresh (http://www.rephresh.com/The-Rephreshing-Truth-Blog/Vaginal-Health/14/What-is-the-Difference-between-a-Yeast-Infection-and-Bacterial-Vaginosis.aspx)

Sorry I keep adding things to this form ... last night I took an apple
Cider bath to help the bv and it seemed
To bring my ph down a bit . this morning I decided to use rephresh .
Once I used it I remembered I needed to take an opk test and sure enough I got
My first positive opk this morning Of course it come two days early during all of this . We are really wanting to try and conceive this cycle . Is the rephresh also going to affect my fertility . I used rephresh at 8 :15 am this morning and we were hoping to Ttc this afternoon around 1 pm /2 ? Should I wait until later this evening ?

I have never seen one speck of information indicating that they really do. It's all based on pH stuff (which hasn't worked for us) and anecdotes of people who have heard "antibiotics sway blue" and so will say things like "I took antibiotics 2 months before or a week after I conceived" and then people take that as evidence even though there's no way something like that affected anyone's sway at all. If you're holding off on antibiotics for your sway, please don't.
Yes, RepHresh can cut odds of conception. I think you should just TTC when it's convenient for you though. I doubt a few hours will make that much of a difference.

I wasn't planning on holding off for the sway at all . I just wanted to know for my own peice of mind. Unfortunately I couldn't get into the doctor until later this afternoon . I'm hoping the infection isn't getting too serious and can be treated easily enough . I've never had it before so I'm a little worried . We went ahead yesterday and tried anyway but I'm doubtful it will even work as conditions seem very hostile ever since we Bd'd . The rephresh didn't even seem to help for ph .

I also just took an opk and no ovualtation . I took one Sunday morning with a negative then Monday morning positive and today a negative ? Maybe I didn't actually ovulate ?

I don't want to post a new thread so I will ask here.
So my DH takes also antibiotics and many painkillers. Unfortunately, he has an accident and had to take antibiotics two weeks ago and yesterday he has problems with kidney stones and also takes another one!
We planned start TTC in 2-3 weeks.
Do it have any influence on sperm quality and sperm count(reduce it)? I read on many sites it has- It could affect sperm production. Is it true? Should we wait?
I suppose to take Clomid this cycle and TTC this month. Should we wait?
I'm doing LE diet since January. I'm so tired [emoji31]

Some people do though so I have to warn people from doing that.
It doesn't matter how long your OPK stay positive for. Most of the time you'll O 24-36 hours after that positive even if it only lasts a day.

If you have been doing LE Diet since January you should not skip a month for any reason.
Yes, it may affect sperm health negatively but it doesn't matter, you need to be in with attempt.
