Hi all, the final countdown is on, and I've really tried to crack down on my sway tactics before our attempt (supposed to be around Jan 31). OK last AF was Dec 17, I started OPKs on Thursday (cd13) as I usually O on cd 15 and wanted to catch the surge. On Saturday I started the 60 minutes of cardio per day, I've been running 60 minutes daily so Sat, Sun, Mon, and today Tues, running between 4-4.5miles each time. I *should* have Od on/around Saturday and I haven't gotten a positive OPK yet... testing once a day. I know it's possible I missed the surge between tests, but I never had ewcm either which I usually get buckets of, I only had about half a day of watery cm which went away quickly. Today cm is back to creamy. Hmmm... does the sudden intense exercise every day screw up O? Would it have made a difference that early into it? I hate not knowing for sure, feels like a 2ww already now. We weren't doing our attempt til next cycle but I am a planner and just want to know when to expect AF and all that... I'm trying to stick to the LE diet while nursing my youngest guy (he's almost 20 months old), drinking 2-3 liters of water a day, craving protein like crazy but trying to stick to a lower amount (I know this is partly because of the running and sore muscles!) Any insight? I just hope I haven't screwed up my cycle as I'm all pumped up for our attempt later this month...

Yes, it can disrupt your cycle but if you're telling me you started exercise on Saturday and that's the day O was due, then no, it wasn't exercise. Was probably diet + nursing. Can you tell me more about what you're eating??

I have no problem skipping breakfast and don't usually eat til lunch time, and have been pretty much sticking to what I normally make for my kids (ex. grilled cheese on whole wheat, or tuna sandwich) but less amounts. At work I always have a smoothie for lunch (banana, frozen berries, yogurt, coconut milk, shredded carrots and kale, total around 300 calories). Supper I am trying to make a salad with lettuce, cucumber, tomato, sometimes egg and ham. (to get in a small amount of protein). Full fat dressing on the salad, and I've cut out putting cheese on top now. Snacks though ughhhh. I find myself craving sugar so have a few Oreos or handful of chocolate chips! Also after the kids go to bed I have a diet coke or Dr Pepper with vodka (sometimes 2)

Oh also I'm still nursing my almost 20 month old so need to stick to higher end for calories. This hasn't disrupted my cycle before though, been very regular ever since AF returned when he was 5 months old.
I haven't put things into MFP lately but plan to start this week. I am running 60 minutes a day (well 50 minutes today with 10 minutes of bursts of waking thrown in) and not eating the calories I burn off. I know I really need to track with MFP so I can make sure I'm staying under the limits but also getting the right amount of protein...

do you think you're getting 1800-2000 calories NOT COUNTING the vegetables??

up to 50-60 g protein and 50--60 g fat if you aren't already.

full fat dairy only!

Yikes, definitely not getting that many! I ate terribly today but tracked it on MFP. We were away from home and hit Dairy Queen and Subway for lunch and supper (I had salad w grilled chicken, handful of fries, iced tea, 6" cold cut sub, Mtn Dew). Skipped breakfast and late morning I drank a fiber weight management drink. My totals for the day so far (probably have a little snack tonight) are 1575cals, 197g carbs, way over on protein at 77g, and fat 68g. I normally don't get such high #'s for protein as I'm really not a meat eater but have to keep a closer eye on fats. I haven't run today (felt awful from this head cold!) but overindulging a little bit has definitely helped my headache disappear finally!! So I know I have a problem getting enough calories for sure especially factoring in bfing and the added exercise. Will have to really work at that!! I'm going to look over food ideas because I find it hard to stay in the limits for protein/fat etc but still hit the higher amount of calories, excluding veggies. Going to really cut out dessert type things and replace with more appropriate snacks. I think I've been incredibly hangry these last few days...

Oh my dear...a grilled chicken salad is not going to have any empty carbs for upping calorie intake.... a chicken sandwich would have at least had the bun for fast burning carbs. Hth

Oh this takes so much tweaking when I'm so used to eating so entirely differently! I mean I'm not thin or anything, I could totally stand to lose 40-50lbs but it's so hard for me to intentionally eat so unhealthy, lol! Today's totals are looking way more like an average day for me, haven't eaten supper yet but my totals should come in right on target for protein and fat (possibly a little under but I'll try to add in extras to hit that) but it's the carbs that get me. I'm looking at 95g carbs and only 1228 cals total after supper plus I'll have a vodka and normally diet soda but I'm thinking I'll have regular soda tonight to boost calorie count. And I did my 60 minute workout today, ran/walked a slow paced 4 miles. The whole increasing empty calorie thing is so hard! I could munch on cookies before bed but that would up fat totals too which I want to try to avoid... grumble girl sway problems hah!

77 g protein and 68 g fat are NOT way over. Slightly over. Remember a lot of boy moms regularly eat 90-120 g of protein and tons of fat.

The good news is, since you do have some weight to spare you can get by with fewer cals. So actually the chicken salad may be a better choice for you. I'd check out the alt. diet here http://genderdreaming.com/forum/gender-swaying-general-discussion/9052-swaying-under-special-circumstances-part-3-pcos.html because even without PCOS it is better for those of us who have more than 30 lbs to spare. :)

True it would be nice if everyone said their weight to need to lose so iwouldnt put my foot in my mouth....hahahaha...i get so tired of seeing Atomic have to practically repeatedly say 1500 to 1800 cals minimum especially for those doing the 1hr of cardio daily ... (she, from all i have read, only says less cals ok if a significant amount of weight to lose or very much pco tendencies or possibly being couch potato) .... so yeah forgive me for not knowing your individual situation .... but i am in the same boat too.... carbs are not my friend <grin> ;)
