Congrats to all and I am looking forward to many more joining us! I swayed blue, but decided to take a break from temping and exercise (and even my diet had some not so ideal days) during the month of December due to a busy schedule... so of course this is the month I get knocked up! Due Sept 16 or sometime around then. Good luck to everyone!!!

Hi ladies - Happy to be here! I'm due with a little rainbow after a D&C loss in Nov and a CP in June. I'm due Sep 18 and swayed girl. I'll find out early with bloodwork. I feel at peace with whatever the result, this is #3, and definitely our last!

Huge congrats on your rainbow baby, Inforthree! I'd love to do the NIPT again, just for gender, but we cannot afford it even with my insurance covering part of it. We need to sell our house and are carrying 2 mortgages right now. We are making it work just fine, but I don't want to add any unnecessary expenses. I had an NIPT last time with DS3 along with genetic testing for me, and I know I am a very low risk for downs.

I'll stick with the NT scan and traditional anatomy scan. They may want to do a dating scan, and I always end up having to have a scan in the third trimester for some reason or other.

I'm so excited to be here! I honestly thought I wouldn't get pregnant again!

I'm trying to soak every minute of this pregnancy up. This is my last pregnancy, and I want to enjoy every minute of it [emoji4]! I think this will be the only time where I'll enjoy morning sickness when it comes, haha!

How is everyone doing? Anyone have symptoms yet? If so, what are you experiencing?

I am having nausea in the middle of the night that is coming and going. Nothing consistent yet. I'm thirsty more than usual so I'm also going to the bathroom more often. No appetite increase yet. Heck, I don't even look bloated! All of this is SO different from my other pregnancies. Goes to show, each one is different!

I'm nauseous all day long, fortunately I don't have to vomit (for now). Also, everything I eat something small (just can't eat more), it feels like I ate a super big evening meal. So it feels I don't digest anything. Anyone has this also?
XX, were your precious pregnancies totally different or the same? I also don't look bloated, that's different from last time. And I don't have soar and bigger breasts which I think is strange, because alst time I had that before I even knew I was pregnant...

Hope we'll hear pink!!

Sigrid86, yep! My other pregnancies completely different. DS1: puke fest for 3 weeks! A good day was 1-2 times! Often, it would come out of no where! Then I was fine. DS2: Horrid nausea, the dizzy kind that lasted until 28-30 weeks! DS3, nausea started right when I found out I was pregnant and lasted until week 21. NOTHING helped! I was bloated with all of them, had soar tender breasts/nipples.

Not this time. Time will tell on the nausea/vomiting. I am also losing weight this time despite eating normally, although I haven't started snacking yet. I just don't have an appetite!

Oh nooo, the 3 pregnancies sound terrible. That's such a long time to be nauseous. At least if you're not vomiting that's already good...
I hope that having a different pregnancy gives you a different gender :) it's strange how pregnancies can differ! I snack all the time, but it's really not a lot, but if I don't I get more nauseous. And I also don't have an appetite but I need to eat unfortunately :s I really hope time goes by fast now...

Wow, good news about your HCG levels!! That early scan won't be long anymore then. Nice!!

I sooo understand you regarding the fatigue! Didn't had that with my previous pregnancy but now I sleep 12h in weekends, 10h in the week. And fortunately I can do this since I don't have any living children yet. I suppose you don't have that luxury? Good luck!

Bedtime starts at 7:45pm and storytime is 7:45-8:00pm. My 2 older boys are usually asleep by 8:00-8:15pm. I put DS3 down around 8:25-8:30pm depending on how long he breastfeeds. My kids usually wake up sometime between 6:00-7:00am so I can get a decent amount of sleep. I usually only get up with my DS3 once in the middle of the night to breastfeed him and put right back down. I usually take a nap in the afternoon when my DS3 takes a nap [emoji6].

This thread makes me so happy! We had a scan right at 5 weeks and saw the little sac. Everything looked good. We go back at 8 weeks to hopefully see more and then I will have blood work at 10 weeks to make sure everything is good and find out the gender! I am so tired the past week and a little nauseous but that is it so far. My FIL has been staying with us for awhile and it is starting to annoy me because we aren't telling people and trying to hide it by switching wine glasses etc. Im ready to be able to talk about it all the time with my hubby! And I know it is fine but it makes me so nervous when my little boy kicks me while I'm changing his diaper because he hates laying still.

What a great news! Congatulations on your bfp! Just have a little more patience ;)
Good that you can go at 8 weeks and 10 weeks. I'm also going to do bloodwork at around 10-11 weeks to know the gender. I'm already so nervous for that...So you have already 1 DS or more children? Did you sway girl or boy?

I'm well familiar with the fatigue and nausea unfortunately :( Last time I wasn't tired but the nausea then stopped at about 10 weeks. So I hope it will be the same now...
I can imagine that it must be hard with your FIL at the house. Hope you can keep it up a little longer? Or maybe already tell him? Are you going to wait the 12 weeks to tell everyone?
My sister was 8 months pregnant with DS2 but DS1 was really kicking a lot in her stomach, so I don't think you should worry yet. At least for now....otherwise just ask your DH?
Good luck!

Gymone, bubs is pretty safely tucked away behind your pelvic bone at the moment. The uterus doesn't normally get above the pelvic bone until after 12 wks. Although I understand worrying. I remember getting kicked quite hard accidentally by my nephew when I was 12 weeks and getting pretty emotional about it. It is so natural to be protective of our little ones from the start.

Congrats to everyone on their pregnancies! September babies are pretty special :)

I work closely with my OB so we are lucky to be able to get lots of scans. It is nice because my DH can feel more involved. I have 1 son who is 18 months and the sweetest thing ever (except for diaper changes which is more like that pig wrestling where I have his leg and he twists around to get away - he thinks it is hilarious!) We swayed for a girl this time. I was doing good but with the holidays and having family around I did not do great with the diet in December and of course that is when I got pregnant! We will probably only have 2 kids (I'm 35 now) so I really want a girl but my husband and his brother are super close so I wouldn't mind that for my son either. We are going to wait to about 12 weeks to tell people. We should know the gender by then too so that will be an added bonus. I'd tell my FIL but then my mom would flip out if she knew he knew when she didn't. And she cannot keep a secret so better to not have her know yet!

Keep us posted on everything and I hope the pink dust is flying our way!

Is anyone else find they are overly emotional since they got a BFP?

I'm not an emotional person, but I was such a b!$&h to my DH last night when he tried to help me with my teething DS3. Yep. You read it right- I was a b!$&h to my DH who wanted to offer support and help! I knew in the moment that my reaction was inappropriate, but I couldn't stop it. It was like watching a train wreck happen. I apologized this morning, and he said it was no big deal. Thank goodness! Commercials make me cry- I never cry! Ugh! This is going to be an adjustment for me!

XXforhubby

I wouldn't call it "sickness", I would call it sour stomach. Nothing sounds good to eat and nothing makes me feel good when I eat it, haha! In all my other pregnancies, I felt worse like I was going to throw up but couldn't. Time will tell. I bet it will kick in soon!

It is the earliest that I've felt "bleh"! This emotional thing is driving me nuts! I feel like a yo-yo! One minute I'm fine, then another someone pisses me off, then another I'm fighting back tears at a stupid commercial for a kid cartoon, then I'm annoyed for no reason! Ugh! It's exhausting- no wonder why I'm so tired!

With all 4 of my girls it started as sour stomach and quickly progressed to full blown vomiting. I am sorry about the emotionality but know you are not alone or the only wife to chew out or freak out on a well meaning husband. With this baby I was even really testy and mean to my older 3 which I'd realize in about 30 seconds and cry because I felt like crap then jump on them to tell them how sorry I was for saying this or that and begging their forgiveness lol it's brutal. Hubby will adjust they all do and if he wants a daughter he better get used to the potential of moods ;)

Hi ladies! i just received my BFP and am cautiously optimistic. I wasn't expecting to get pregnant on my own as my last two pregnancies were IUI babies. So as I did sway for a DD, it was a light sway, and I have a feel it failed. But I am okay with whatever God gives me. My second child was born with health issues, so I am hoping for an uneventful pregnancy and healthy baby.

How is everyone feeling? I'm getting anxious about my lack of symptoms, but hoping it's because just too early yet (4+3)

The only symptom I really have is that I can't stay awake beyond 9pm in the evenings. Praying that all is ok!

I feel the same way! I don't have near the symptoms as I did with my other 3 pregnancies. I too am trying not to worry. I am only consistently more thirsty and tired at the end of the day. I get a sour stomach from time to time but not nauseous. If it were not for the tests with weeks estimator, I would be panicking a bit! I remember with my DS1 that nausea didn't become consistent until around 6-7 weeks.

FX for healthy babies for all of us!

Thanks for letting me join girls ... I have 3 boys and my last baby due 11th of October, xxforhubby the only symptoms I have is thirsty, tired and cranky. Also getting pains and twinges on the right and left side (twins maybe 😱) .. With all 3 of my other boys I had all day sickness from 6/7 weeks so hoping I don't have that this time which could indicate different gender!

Hubby you will find a lot of moms expecting pink get very emotional in their pregnancies.. especially if you aren't very emotional to begin with! It's all the extra girlie hormones :). Is this the earliest morning sickness has hit you? ;)
I started crying this morning listening to a song on the radio ... Weird!!! Getting teary eyed all day and I'm only 4+2 😃 ... God love my kids and husband!!!!

A friend had mild sickness with her 2 girls and full on sickness with her boy!

Diclegis is a miracle worker! My OB dropped off some samples for me and I feel like a real person again! I ran into her today and she said I didn't even look green. That sounds like a Tuesday morning win to me!

XXforhubby

Keep an eye on your blood pressure while taking diclegis. It can cause it to increase. I can't take it for that reason. The antihistamine portion of Diclegis is an anticholinergic, which has a known side effect of raising blood pressure.

Thanks Amelia I remember we were trying around the same time I think I'm 5 weeks but because we done the e4d I'm not sure on which attempt we caught the egg as I had an almost positive on Day 21 & day 25 so not sure when I ovulated but we dtd on both those days as it happened to fall on the e4d pattern - hoping this hasn't given me too many boy attempts (both my boys were conceived doing dtd for 5 days straight through ovulation )
My dh also abstained between attempts which hoping helped too! I can't help but keep worrying I really hope I can relax soon as my whole last pregnancy was plagued by anxiety / depression hoping to enjoy this one more !

Also not looking forward to nausea it's awful I have bought some
Ginger biscuits already incase it hits me one morning or whenever it decides to come last time it was in the middle of the night - I was sitting up eating biscuits hahaha !!

Hi everyone! I am pretty new to this site - last year I came onto this site as I wanted to sway for a girl (I have two boys). I swayed for a few months but wasn't getting pregnant, then we stopped trying for a while as my husband was very back and forth on the idea of a third child. Anyway, we gave it another shot late last year and this time I just tried to get pregnant. I had had alcohol a couple of times in that fertile period and we probably did a couple of small sway tactics without realising, but nothing like the sway I would have liked. But like I said, by this stage I was just wanting to get pregnant as my husband had kind of given me a deadline! So long story short - I am almost 10 weeks pregnant now and due mid September!
So far the nausea has been terrible - much worse than the boys. Mouth constantly filling with saliva, very emotional. Sore breasts have only just started. I still think I'll probably have a third boy despite the different symptoms but sometimes I feel like I may be having a girl? I am having the NIPT blood test on Wednesday and we will find out the gender. Trying to brace myself for the GD if it's a boy... anyone else scared to find out? Congrats to everyone else that is pregnant and good luck getting your dream gender! :)

XXforhubby
February 9th, 2017, 07:57 AM
Welcome Mama! You always have a chance at getting a girl! If knowing early may upset you, you can always have them write the result from your NIPT test in an envelope for you to open when you're ready. I'm thinking I'm going to do that if my DH can't go with me to the anatomy scan- that what we can find out together.

I guess I'm the odd person out with not having sore boobs. Maybe it's because I'm still breastfeeding? I'm not sure. It's usually a symptom of mine in my past 3 pregnancies.

FX we all get our desired genders (or our partners get theirs in my case!)!

Hi Ladies...can I join!
Very unexpected BFP this week! I'm still in shock to be honest as it wasn't planned at all. I had planned to start swaying pink later this year and had been frequenting the site to gain information about how best to go about this. Anyways, it's a happy surprise regardless, although I am hoping and praying that I have a daughter on board this time!
Due date calculators have me at 5 weeks but I most likely had delayed ovulation so I have my doubts about that.
Here's to a happy, healthy 9 months to us all!!

Congrats 1pinkplease!

To those that have had NIPT tests before - do they call you with the results? Or do they tell you at he 12 week scan? We would definitely like to hear the result together but just not sure how it works as I've never had one.
As for those without sore boobs - mine only started getting tender at about 8 weeks. Up until then I was doing the same, kept grabbing them hoping to feel some discomfort haha.

Hmm with my first I felt like he was a boy and then with the second one, at about 7 weeks it was like I heard someone in my head say "it's a boy" and from then on I knew he was a boy. This time is a bit trickier as I know it's our last so I'm really really wanting a girl therefore it probably is hindering my intuition. At times I think it will be a boy because I already have two and ag other times I feel like it's a girl. What I know for sure is that it's all I'm thinking about now!!!

I don't have sore boobs, but I have super tender nipples all of a sudden! I'm still breastfeeding my 14.5mo old and it's getting hard! He has only just started to drink from a sippy cup so I can't have him wean just yet!

Welcome to the new people!

I am going to stay team green. I love finding out at the birth.

My boobs are less sore today, which of course has me freaked out. I hate the first trimester. I like having the comfort of feeling the baby move.

Well done Kasey Baby I did that with my last son although I know I saw his bits on the 20 week scan so I was just secretly hoping I was wrong ... it's so rare these days that people leave it until the birth isn't it - but I would like to know this time .

I'm meant to be 5 weeks 2 days but who knows !
My leg hair always slows down Aswell Amelia and also the bi carb test for my last boy said girl and all the charts I proper geared myself up for a girl last time - I love my ds2 dearly now but it took a long time for me to bond I felt like a failure for some reason - anyway I hope I've done enough this time xx

I'd love to say we'll be staying team green this time but I really don't think I could make it! I'm very tempted to get the NIPT done for health reasons primarily but knowing that you can find out the gender so early is an added bonus! What are you all thinking ? Team green or nah?!

I'm definitely a team yellow- I am the epitome of the saying, "Curiosity killed the cat", haha! However, we are thinking of withholding revealing the gender to people until the baby is born. I just cannot stand the comments. I've already got my comeback for people making ignorant comments about a) having 4 kids b) about having a 4th boy, and c) about making sure we are done having kids. I am great at shutting people down. Why can't people just either show support or keep their mouth shut? Ugh.

Yep, the cost of the harmony test is no joke. I'm in two minds about getting it done...it's not like I would have any decisions to make depending on the outcome. I'll take what i'm blessed with and be happy about it regardless!

The comments do drive you insane. I know half the time it's not meant maliciously but seriously I find it very insensitive. I just think it's my business how many children I have..not yours! And since I never burden my children on anyone I don't get why they feel the need to comment on how many I have...
I'm also very well aware that I haven't got a girl so why some people feel the need to state the obvious and then ask if that's why I haven't stopped yet is not very considerate and actually quite insensitive when you think about it.
Anyways we are blessed ladies, and these are exciting times...whether people want to be happy for us or not!

I guess there are pros and cons either way. If I find out early on it means I face reality early on. I don't spend the next good few months constantly analysing every symptom, looking at every sign...even making up signs e.g. If the next baby I see is a girl then i'm having a girl, if the next car is blue i'm having a boy lol! I can do without that sort of madness this time around!

Then again, it's so nice to be surprised at delivery, and at that point you really couldn't care any less about what the gender is...you just want the baby out safe and sound with everything in working order....

I guess time will tell...although I'll most likely cave in before delivery and find out!*

I'm definitely finding out. I just want to know for sure so I can prepare for the family I'm really going to have. I think I've been living with the hope of a successful sway since June 2013 so I am ready to know one way or the other. Honestly, I'm excited to to have closure. It's for sure our last. I will be over the moon if it's my girl but I'm trying not to think about it, and instead just expect to hear boy again.

I had a friend do a successful sway and I was with her when she found out the gender so I have a very clear picture of the dream coming true moment.

Also, I don't want to share the news until I find out what we've having to hopefully head off some comments. I'm feeling very protective of this possible third boy already and don't want to hear any negativity.

After having 3 boys, my DH are not disillusioned- this is most likely our 4th boy! I think we are the most hopeful this time around because everything for both of us was 100% different than when we conceived our other children. I really couldn't have asked for a better sway. So for the first time, we are a tad bit hopeful that this is my DH's much longed for DD.

I hope and pray we all get what we hoped/tried for! Above all else, I hope we have perfectly healthy babies [emoji4]!

You get comments even if you have both genders. I have 1 boy and 2 girls and I already get comments and even when I told one friend I was pregnant it wasn't "Congrats!" It was " you're crazy". What if I am? Who cares? They aren't the ones having another baby, so why do they care how many i have?

I swayed girl but was on antibiotics and had a raging tooth infection when I was TTC so I couldn't do much cardio, so with those two factors I am fairly certain it is a boy. For me it is a total mental thing for having a girl. Because my daughter was born ill, and they don't know the long term prognosis for her, I feel like I need to have daughters in case we ever lost her. I know it is silly, and stupid, but I can't help thinking like that.

That's how my morning sickness started. It is now full nausea starting my 6th week. I only get it when my stomach is empty or in the evening. I usually eat my biggest meal then, but I have had to switch it to lunch time. That has made a big difference for me! I also found that with this pregnancy, I have to have a balance of carbs, protein, and fat to help it not be so strong. With my other pregnancies it was either carbs or protein that made it better.

It looks like a lot of us will be finding out in April/May! Hopefully we all hear what we want!

I told my parents and brother yesterday we were both so desperate to share the joy with someone plus they already knew I was on some sort of diet for swaying reasons and totally on board (were even even helping towards costs of HT at one point) so they were over the moon both welling up in tears and my sister in law which was sonlovley - we ordered a take away and spoke about it all night it was perfect :)
Next weekend we're telling my in laws as DH says only fair they know if my parents know sort of thing ...

I am having the early scan in a couple of weeks like most of u so after that I will tell my 2 closest friends as unfortunately I HAVE to as I'm bridesmaid and have one of my best friends hen do coming up next month and it's 12 girls in a cottage doing lots of shots and wine etc so unavoidable which is a shame but I will have to tell them but they will be happy for me but they will be surprised I think!!

Officially tell more people after the 12 weeks scan I think otherwise - I won't be announcing on Facebook at all as I do not want the comments to make my gender anxiety even worse than what it is .

The only symptom
I'm having is absolutely freezing most of the time and a bit head achey which I had with m DS2 so a boy symptom so far !!

I have only one food aversion, which is to fruit with skin and fruit flavored sparkling water and artificially fruit flavored candy. I can have Jolly Ranchers, which is made with real fruit juice and of course fruit juices. The only fruit I can eat are basically berries. So strange! My in-laws are not being told for a while. My MIL asked my why I couldn't "get it right" like my SIL after she had her DS (which made a PP.) When we told MIL we were expecting #5 the first thing she said was, "You know it's another girl, right? Why do you even try?" Weird thing is, she loves all my girls, it's just before they're born that she makes these comments.

On a side note, I just found out my SIL is expecting a baby a month before me! I haven't announced yet and kept quite about my own news as she told me. She wants a girl and already has a boy....I'm truly so very happy for her as this baby is very much wanted...however I obviously suspect that she just may get her longed for daughter and I may have another lovely boy just a few weeks later!

We've picked our girls and boys names so prepared either way - I wish I could afford the harmony test but my husband said it isn't going to change the result so he doesn't see the point in wasting the money on it... it's hard isn't it this gender desire !!

We too have picked out names for a girl and a boy. We usually have 2 of each in case one of the names doesn't fit them. We just need one more girl name. I'm so excited either way!

I've learned to not read into symptoms- based on those alone my DS2 should've been a girl! It's hard not to let it get to your head, especially when the symptoms are so very different! Right now my symptoms are so very different from all of my pregnancies that I'm trying not to let it mess with me!

Well hello hello :) I've wanted to claim my spot in this thread for days now. Got a BFP yesterday and I'm going to be waiting out for viability without monitoring. I'll be fine if it doesn't work out, but keeping hope and faith that it is meant to be.

I've waited 8 loooooooong years for this moment. Not telling DH just yet. Gonna hold out until a CBD says 3-4 weeks, God willing.

So let's talk about caffeine. Have all of you cut it out completely? I'm thinking of keeping 1 cup of tea in the morning. I'm doing 3 currently lol.

Here's my entry ticket:

Buttercups I feel the exact same I'd did my very best and any future sway I wouldn't do as good a job so what's meant to be is meant to be. Oh man! Not gonna do the cold turkey dance here. I did that with DD and got myself 2 weeks worth of horrible terrible migraines. I'm keeping my cuppa tea. lol.

During my 2ww, I picked out two sets of boy girl matching names just in case I get fraternal twins :D I came to terms with the fact that I may have a girl so that I could enjoy every moment of this pregnancy. My DD is such a blessing that I truly don't mind. <3 I'm surprising DH by using a name he said he loved when we first met. I initially hated the name LOL and somehow I learned to love it.

I'll wait a couple of weeks before getting in touch with a midwife. I haven't even missed my period yet haha.

Well in Canada we have to get on a waiting list, so I can't wait very long to call. I *should* technically call next week after I miss my period. I just don't wanna deal with "everything about you makes you high risk" and be referred to an OB.

I'm not feeling so fantastic about my sway ladies u_u I really slacked during my period and after because we moved. SO I had to pack 2 days before my period and move on CD2. I ate breakfats later and later each day lol. However, my tea always has alot of whole milk (1 cup) or half cream and half milk. I'm hoping that helps.

My meals have also been skimpy as of late. Everything I eat is boy friendly, I just ate alot less than the rest of my sway because I was tired, preoccupied and also just not wanting any of the food. I did grab a handful of nuts or seeds or a piece of cheese every time I went to the kitchen. I didn't do the wheatgrass very often.

On a good note, I did drink 1L of coconut water per day the week leading up to O! Still doing that today. I hate that all these little regrets are trying to set in.

If it makes you feel any better Cosmosis, I was so depressed with DS2 (I had a miscarriage before him and it took 3 cycles to conceive him) I was actively losing weight and skipping breakfast. I knew nothing about swaying at the time! I did snack on nuts or cheese in between meals. I have 3 boys and never once took wheatgrass. I think you did just fine! Plus you had more than one attempt!

I've just been looking up gender scans so I'm going to get one done at 16 weeks, only 10 weeks to wait!!! Its allot cheaper then the harmony 400 compared to 80 but obviously you can get the harmony done early which I would definitely get if I could!! So now I just need to pre-occupy myself for 10 weeks 😃

@XX, YES, it does make me feel alot better! :D thank you for that hun.

aaaaaah scans. I honestly don't want my midwife to scan me due to all the drama that could happen. I'm aiming for an HBAC this time so the less my midwife looks in there, the better for me. I *may* go get a private scan to see if there's one or two, see where the baby implanted and get potty shots. Not sure how much that will cost though. I wanted to do the harmony test instead but that's just too pricey lol.

A question about FF. It looks like FF is trying to push me to use the pregnancy tracker, but I want to temp for at least half of my pregnancy (data collection :D) If I use the pregnancy tracker, will my chart be taken away?

Buttercups I think your overall totals matter and long as your diet was different to when you conceived the boys you should be fine, how long were u on the diet for? I was on it a total of 8/9 months with little breaks and cheats here and there to keep me going! I know 3 months is recommended so I'm hoping the length of time stands to me along with 1 attempt, only folic acid and coffee and alcohol. Only think I didn't do was the exercise

Alright, I shaved down one cup of tea... I think. I'll see if I can manage with two for a week or so.

I'm going to purchase a couple of frers today and a box of CBD w/ estimator. How do you ladies suggest I make the most of the CBD? I won't be able to get in for a midwife appointment until I'm 12 weeks I'm pretty sure. I'm only a week an 4 days in and that's going from ovulation not implantation. I want to see progression from 2-3 weeks to 3-4 weeks. In other words, the first time I take the test the CBD should say 1-2 weeks and if I take it 2 weeks later, it should say 3-4 weeks. Do I have this right?

So then, do I take one next week and then 2 weeks from then?

I was on the diet for 1 year and TTCed for 11mo when we conceived. By the end, the LE diet became my way of life, haha! I lost about 1 stone and a half towards the end.

I didn't get time to sway! I joined the site back in November and had planned to spend most of this year learning what 'swaying was all about! I had the intention to maybe start this Summer and in the meantime do lots of reading on this site and start regulating my cycle.
Well that was the plan lol! This was a completely unexpected BFP and aside from a few workouts every now and then and skipping breakfast for a matter of weeks I literally have NO sway!

I really like it on this forum. It is nice to be understood for wanting a certain gender and this disappointment that may come if we don't get our GD.

*sigh* I'm extremely crabby and I don't even notice it. DH and DD are both asking me why I'm so angry. DH thinks its that time of the month, I wanted to tell him what was up but I don't feel ready yet. Am I really gonna be a horrible crab for 9 months? I was hoping to soften up a bit you know? As other ladies have said, don't stress over this as it has already happened. Work on accepting whatever is and you'll feel so much better. I can relate with having doubts, I already have them myself. I feel like I slacked with diet the two weeks before O. I started skimping on my supplements too and I feel we had too many attempts, making them girl friendly.

All sorts of thoughts will creep up to make you doubt yourself, but don't let them!

The pattern you mentioned is still e4d, so regardless, you did what is well known to sway girl. Think of the overall picture hun. You gave it your best shot :)

At this point I'm more inclined to go ahead with the testing than not to...I've turned 35 not too long ago and Google has me scared! Would those of you who are contemplating this type of testing wait until after the 12 week scan just to more accurately confirm results ....or just go right ahead and test at 9 weeks?

(I would be testing for the genetic health of the baby as a primary reason, confirming the gender is secondary)

I've had to take paracetamol three times already because my head aches are so bad sometimes but they've gone the past two days I think it may have been related to the cold I had.
I remember nausea being so much worse on an empty stomach ...

I didn't know u have the NiPT test that early I thought it was 10 weeks? If u have the money and are concerned then certainly go ahead I say ! I definately would like to have that sort of reassurance it's far more accurate from blood testing than ultrasound and obviously gender is an added bonus x

Thank you for the reassurance ladies :)

@amelia, I'm sorry you are suffering :( from a nutritional perspective, I really recommend magnesium and a multi mineral solution ontop of that. I have a client who suffered really bad hyperemesis gravidarum her first few pregnancies and she worked with me for a while and recovered her health (heavy remineralization). She is now pregnant again and no hyperemesis so far, just mild nausea here and there.

@1pink, I would wait until 12 weeks so you don't waste time and money. If you do it earlier, you won't be sure and still left wondering you know?

AFM, still achy in my uterus area and fatigued. hCG makes me wake up very early lol. I'm up between 3:30 and 4:30AM now. That's what gave me confidence to keep testing and looking for the lines lol.

Thank you for your comment Butterflies.
Yes, apparently 9 weeks is the earliest they test. They test for a range of conditions and I like the idea of putting my mind at rest very early on (hopefully). I've fortunately never had any issues with my previous children, and I'm aware that things do not automatically 'go wrong' the minute you turn 35, it's just that a lot of what you read online can cause unnecessary worry and I'd rather have peace of mind!

@ Cosmosis...thanks for your reply. Do you mean have the NIPT done at 12 weeks to be more sure of results because of advanced gestation, or not to have the NIPT done at all and just go with the standard 12 week scan?

XXforhubby
February 15th, 2017, 02:30 PM
The NIPT test is accurate from 9 weeks on, although I was told before 13 weeks is best for some genetic diseases tested. I had mine done at 9 weeks with my last pregnancy and it was very accurate. I also had genetic testing done for me, since I don't know my biological father. Waiting doesn't make it any more accurate than getting it done earlier.

What a thoughtful hubby u have, lovely to see for re-assurance! I think they say that ms normally kicks in around week 6, I'm off to stock up on magnesium, b6 and some ginger tomorrow. Any of ye sail through any of your pregnancies? I'm thinking I'm carrying another boy because my mil said to me earlier 'oh if you have the same symptoms it must be another boy', annoyed me but that's mil's for ya, regret telling her so early now but the dh wanted to because my mum knew, the politics of it all!

I have that too I've told my parents so now we have to tell his (which they won't be happy about but god knows why as they don't have much interest in my two boys anyway or help us at all in anyway ) so we will be telling them in the next couple of weeks they live a couple of hours away luckily !
I don't think symptoms mean too much so don't worry about that ! Xx

Oh the symptoms! If only they predicted gender! All of my pregnancies have been so different. DS1 would be called puke fest 2010! There was one day where I puked 13 times! It only lasted for like 3 weeks, thank God! DS2 would be called vertigo horizon. I had the dizzy type nausea that lasted until 28 weeks! Even on medicine! DS3 was mild morning sickness that lasted until 13 weeks. So different, yet all boys!

See if you can find a magnesium called "calm", that one is okay, but ideally you should take this one:
https://www.rnareset.com/collections/frontpage/products/remag-the-magnesium-miracle-16-oz?variant=28633029575

It is the only one of its kind and it completely absorbs, whereas most magnesium doesn't absorb very well due to it being too big for cells to absorb. I highly recommend it :)

@BB, so lovely to see levels going up <3 I'm taking my CBD next wednesday and then two weeks after that for some sanity.

We're not telling anyone anything for at least 4-5 months or until I can't hide it anymore. Everyone is gonna have opinions on the matter lol, don't wanna hear it. :D

The NIPT doesn't get more accurate as you get further along as long as you have your dates right you can have it at 9 weeks. The NIPT tests are more accurate than the ultrasound so it should help put your mind at ease.

I have my blood draw tomorrow - I'll be 9w3d.

@ amelia10.....I pretty much sailed through all of my previous pregnancies and I've had 5 boys, no girls. I'm not sure whether you can put much stock in that but just wanted to add my experiences to your question!
Thankfully I've never had any morning sickness or any cravings...which is pretty weird really!

I wanted to mention something about being ill while pregnant. It is not the hcg that makes you feel that way, it is the estrogen. Usually when estrogen is higher than progesterone, we will notice symptoms and the more hormone there is the worse those symptoms get. That;s why when AF is coming we get "PMS" or similar symptoms to what a women in early pregnancy would get. When AF is coming, progesterone begins to drop and eventually drops lower than estrogen. When there's pregnancy, estrogen begins to build back up :)

An accumulation of estrogen happens in the body if your body doesn't break it down and excrete it quickly. That's why in many cases, it takes a few weeks before MS kicks in. It is very tough on the liver to process so many hormones at once (you have loads of hcg, progesterone, estrogen and others).

Drink alot of water and take supplements to aid your liver, like milk thistle. If you've had alot of alcohol in recent times, then it will be a bit worse on your liver.

This is why symptoms are different for each pregnancy, because you are in different health each pregnancy. So if you are not feeling anything (but you did before), you have probably taken better care of yourself as of late or your health has improved since your last pregnancy.

There are other factors of course and everyone is a bit different, but this is an observation I've made throughout the years. :) hope it helps!

Just wants to express how I feel today :

My friends partner seems to think I'm pregnant as we cancelled a social event last weekend and ever since my second son he has always said things like when r h having another one , what u gonna do if u have another boy, I'm so lucky I've got one of each I'm having a vasectomy soon , sod havin 3 kids and so on... which has made me feel terrible especially last year when I was anti depressants from My GP for GD...
I've realised today that this is my last baby (out third) and the minute I find out it's a boy at my scan or harmony test I will feel very upset I can imagine my heart will sink as the reality sets in , it's ok il obviously love him but will not enjoy the comments during the next 20 odd weekends after a gender scan whilst this boy is still growing inside of me so I think I have come to a decision to stay team yellow / green (find out at birth ) because at least that way there is a glimmer of hope that it could be a girl???

I'll have a c section anyway so will be house bound for a week so we won't need a pink / blue pram or accessories we can shop online for next day delivery that day he or she comes into the world if necessary - we've realised we don't use the nursery until 6 months anyway so no rush to do that we can just paint it white for now and buy a cot and go neutral for a while until they arrive ...
I feel this will help push the comments away as I won't know what I'm carrying and also my depression won't be during my pregnancy - and maybe il just fall in love at the birth wether it's a boy or a girl ...
Sorry long post needed to share
Xxx

Crashing for butterflies..

-huge hugs- it's ultimately up to you what you think is best but if you have a history of depression in and after pregnancy it may be best to find out and deal with it early. It can be tricky because if you are told boy at the end of a long/hard 9 months it can go either way... you could fall instantly in love, or fall into a pit of depression so severe you don't bond as easily or well with your newborn son. I say stay open to either option for now and make a final decision as that 16-20 week mark hits.. wishing you the best of luck either way hon and ALL my pink dust..

I agree with Burakoam, Butterfly. While I haven't struggled with depression, I did have postpartum depression with my DS1 only. That is why I choose to find out what we are having, because I don't know if I will have PPD again or not. I really struggled with it with my DS1 for 6mo, and I could not imagine feeling GD and having it be amplified because of the PPD.

Know we will be here for you! You will not be alone in this!

It's a tough decision. I toyed with not finding out with this one, in the end, I knew my hopes would be high and didn't see the point in prolonging false hope. I felt like I would have father to fall. I also had some PPD with DS2 so I think combining that with GD would be really tough. Even though it's cliche, time does help, and I think GD is most painful right when you find out. But then again I've never been surprised so I can't speak to that.

I had my blood draw so the wait is on!

Amelia- I too am having a rough go with morning sickness. Although I can only suck on Jolly Ranchers (fruit juice hard candy). Interestingly, I cannot eat fruit except for bananas. All fruit taste like cough medicine! I can drink fruit juice made from real fruit though, which is SO weird! I have NEVER had this in any of my pregnancies before! I'm sad because I am a big fruit eater [emoji20]. I haven't even gained any weight so far despite getting pretty bloated.
