Is this the nub?

I had my ultrasound the other day at 8 1/2 weeks. Does this picture show a nub between its legs? Is this what I should be looking for at the 12 week scan?

I think by around 9 weeks the nub will be formed but will be almost identical for boys and girls. It could be the nub but it won't tell you anything yet.

If you can, aim to have your next scan closer to 13 weeks as nub theory is more accurate a that point.

A baby at 8 weeks is just so different looking than 12-13 weeks that it's not going to be very helpful. I actually think that is the thigh bone showing up there. It will be in that general area but a bit higher usually.

I just want to echo what purple says, it's better to aim at 13 week because the nubs are much more reliable. :)
