Ph testing for swaying pink- what to use??!!!

I'm very new to all of this and still getting my head around the basics! Is it an alkaline environment we need to sway pink? I was thinking of using ph testing strips to monitor this, but unsure of what to get. You ask in a chemist and get bombarded with questions on why you need them!

I've seen these on eBay any good?

Well, it's actually supposed to be acidic, but the trouble is, the pH stuff doesn't work anyway and tons of us have pH stick opposites (I myself got a boy with "girl" pH) Most of us have stopped testing pH and our results have only gone up since we did. If you do want to test pH that's up to you, those are the right kind of sticks. I have a "how to test" essay here but I do urge you not to get too carried away with them.
