View Full Version : Hello! I may be a little lost...

I'm new to this, so don't even know what most of the acronyms mean, but here goes my story:

I have 3 bio sons and 1 traditionally adopted son, and desperately want a girl! We hadn't tried to conceive since 2010 (son #3 born in 2011), and had never had problems before that. But my health wasn't great at the time, so we decided to adopt. (Honestly, figured we'd get a girl, but our agency does things totally different than other traditional agencies as a wait list, so we didn't get to specify gender. We adopted son #4 and love him to pieces and wouldn't change a thing...but do still want that girl!) So we tried to conceive a girl last summer based on general internet wisdom. We did conceive, but won't ever know if our efforts were successful as I had a miscarriage at 8 weeks. We've ttc a couple times since then, but no luck.

So here's where we stand - I'm about to turn 40. I just want a baby girl, darn it! :giggle: So we've been looking in to Embryo Adoption with PGD so we know gender. But we're currently living in Germany, and it's looking like that's not really an option around these parts. I'm hearing rumor that **** in the Czech Republic will let you pick the embryo, but when I asked them they said no gender selection (maybe because I asked via email and they don't want a papertrail?!) Are there reputable places in Cyprus? Are there places in the Czech Republic that will let you choose an embryo to transfer based on gender, but you just have to know the right catch phrases or super secret handshake?! :) I have no idea. So I'm going to start combing threads, but if anyone can point me to the right ones, I would sure appreciate it. I'm completely lost in here!!

Thanks friends!

Hi and welcome!

I don't have much advice on the IVF front but just wanted to wish you the best of luck!! I'm sure some of our helpful ladies who are so knowledgeable about the process will chime in shortly!

Hi girl! Im looking for information about **** also! I wished to find it in your post but I see nobody answered your question...I really hope someone will do because we are thinking to go to **** also. I think you are right about the fact that they dont want a papertrail and said no to genderselection. The options might be still there. I hope someone with ****-experience will leave a message on this post. I will follow! :)

JeanT is currently pregnant with her girl via clinic C (czech) & Svee has just had her second egg collection & is just waiting for testing to see how many healthy boys. I haven't personally been but following them for information as I have 2 boys & hope to get my girl to complete.our family next year x

Ditto on Babygirlquest re being open in Cyprus. From reading other ladies stories it seems they don't have such good success rates especially for over 30s so it's a trade off.

Hi Ladies - You can read about my story at clinic C in my post that Ale2xy shared (I'm 20 weeks preggy - so cycled there pretty recently). Not sure what you can and can't see before becoming a member but this is such a useful site if you are considering High tech GS so I would def encourage signing up. If you have any specific questions feel free to PM me. xx

Hi everyone

I'm new to this! We have beautiful girls (we are lucky not to have any fertility issues, I'm 35 now) and would love to have a boy. We are based in Western Europe so ideally would like to do the ivf pgd this side of the Atlantic. I registered as a Dream Member but still can't access some of the links above. I contacted a clinic in Cyprus that said they would do it but I'm reading now that it's illegal there since last year. Is there any reputable place in Europe or close by that does it or what are the Clinics C and Clinic R? We have a baby so I'm planning on doing this in 2018, day 5 PGD and then freeze till 2019. I would be grateful if anyone could tell me their experiences in Cyprus or Czech Republic (if it's done there) or if someone wants a buddy in this process that seems so difficult to gather information.

Thanks a lot!

Hi Reafcr,

You'll probably get more responses if you start your own thread. Sometimes people don't know how to do that so ask questions in an old thread but many people won't see that. So go ahead and open the forum where you want to post (this is the part most people miss, you actually have to click open a forum, NOT an old thread, to post a new thread) and then you'll see the "start new thread") button.

RE your Dream Membership, I'll contact someone who can help us but in the meantime try logging out and logging back in again. Welcome!
