My US tech told me today I have a tilted uterus. I've never heard that before. Would that be why it took us a while to conceive? And does that sway any certain way? And lastly, if it does sway, would the iui I had null and void whatever way a tilted uterus could sway?
Lots of questions I know :) tia!

I'm not sure about how it would effect IUI, but I have a tilted uterus (retroverted- think slide). I have 3 boys. It did take me a while to conceive this time and the cycle I conceived I laid on my tummy for 10 min before going to the bathroom.

I have a very tilted uterus that also leans way to the left. Having a tilted uterus is like being left handed...totally normal and just a variation. It doesn't make it harder to conceive IMO nor does it sway. I think IUI generally sways blue but I'm not entirely sure. I remember you back when I was on the TTC board. Congratulations on baby #2! Please take my blue dust, I have too much of it! lol

Mine is tilted too so it is obviously very common. I have 2 boys and a girl on the way and have also conceived 3 other times. I think most times I would have stayed on my back for at least 10 mins after BDing and slightly tilted up my hips (from memory).

Okay cool it sounds like it shouldn't make a difference either way. And yeah actually I had to lay on my back with my hips propped for 15 mins after the iui. So maybe that's what helped too? We had been trying for about 17 cycles! Thank god for iui! I was getting exhausted. But yeah I had never heard I had a tilted uterus till just today.
Ksmom thanks so much!!! Take all my pink! Actually all of you can have all my pink dust! I only want boys here's on out! No more girls I'm already exhausted with one!! :drama:

Old school doctors once thought tilted uterus did prevent conception but that idea has been largely debunked and now it's seen more as a natural variation like having brown or blue eyes.
Some of us have found that maybe if we aren't making much EWCM and/or our husband isn't making as much semen, we may benefit from laying on our tummies part of the time with a tilted uterus.
I actually get this question all the time from people and I do not find it to sway either way. I get questions from both girl moms and boy moms. I myself have a very tilted uterus (even caused trouble during pregnancy with my last two kiddos it was so bad) and never had any trouble conceiving and also have 4 boys. :)
