So angry at myself this morning. Hubby and I were planning to TTC #2 next month. We've been BDing every second day (but hubby not releasing in me) in preparation and today we got a tad excited and hubby released in me (sorry TMI)... I had a + opk on Sunday so thinking I've ovulated now.

Im now worried if I do happen to fall pregnant we will have swayed girl. This is how we feel pregnant with DD1 - 1 attempt at + opk...

Could it be possible that we've missed the egg already?

Have you been doing the diet, exercise and supps:) If so then even if you did fall pregnant there is a solid chance of a boy as there isn't any one thing that guarantee's either gender. I think my last 2 boys were both 1 attempt but with a good diet and supps behind me. Also this time you could well have missed this egg, as ovulation possibly occurs 24 hrs after +opk?? Someone more knowledgeable will pop by soon:)

I think the normal advice is to throw in more attempts to offset the accidental one attempt. Even then, though, people definitely do get boys with one attempt still. I know TaytumJ's sway last year had one attempt because of some other circumstances, and she stillhad a boy. Diet is key!

Agreed that it's multiple factors that sway and not just one thing. No real point in getting too wrapped up in what ifs given you haven't got a bfp yet. If you do end up pregnant then hopefully you have some of the other factors diet, weights, supps in your favour.

Thanks ELP, Throwaway and MiaMelb. You are all right there is no one thing that sways so who knows what could happen as Mia said I may not even get a bfp this month.

I've been going diet & supps for a while now so fingers crossed that's helped.

You still have a chance of a boy no matter what!!

In future, if this happened I'd probably have gone ahead with more attempts to see if you could be in with 2-3 attempts - but then again this is a bit of a gamble really as it may end up making you more likely to get pregnant.

Good luck and blue dust - best wishes for happiest outcome whatever that is!

Thanks atomic - I guess we will find out soon enough... as much as I would love a boy I would love a sister for my little one as I never had one but I don't know that we want to have 3 kids so a boy would be great as the pressure would be off (sounds sad to admit that) - I'm excited at the thought of being pregnant again so either way can't wait!

I think since you've been doing diet and supps for a while you have every chance of a boy if you are indeed pregnant. And fwiw my first son was only two attempts in the fertile window. It was definitely a combination of things that got me boys including a very healthy diet and prenatals x

Thank everyone well AF is here today so looks like I worried for nothing! 28 day cycle which nice after last months 21 days although concerned over my literal phase as I only got a + opk on D17 so only a 9day LP... any suggestions for this? Anyways we are in full sway mode this month - fingers crossed!

9 days is a bit of a worry. Could you get some progesterone pessaries to use? My RE just prescribed some for me for this cycle ttc

Thanks dancingdiva I don't know if my Gp will give them as we tested my progesterone 2 cycles ago & it was ok for D21.. Will bring it up when I next see him.

28 days is way better than 21. You may have Oed sooner than you think.

HE Diet should help with short LP.
