I was reading the thread about how girl mom's got their girls. I notice that virtually everyone DTD daily either from AF to O or around O time. If you wouldn't be too embarrassed to add... what about "the big O" wold you say you often big O or are more likely not too? I for some reason really feel that not big Oing is important, just wondering if my suspicion is founded. Thanks so much for anyone willing to share!

I have seen this q come up a couple of different times now and there is somewhat of a trend that girl moms seem to O less often and with more difficulty than the boy moms do BUT there were tons and tons of exceptions on both sides. I don't think anyone's sway is wrecked if they want a boy and can't/don't O or if they want a girl and do O.
I know for a fact that I didn't O when I conceived DS 1 and I suspect I didn't with DS 4!!

I don't mind not having an O , but my last attempt I didn't even "really" DTD. DH took care of it then "deposited" the goods shallowly. This next cycle I am planing on possibly DTD daily and would like to make it more interesting for him ;) but I was just trying to gage if it is the actual DTD or the big O that could foul up my sway.

We did 'real' DTD lol when TTCing both girls ( not shallow etc) but no big O for me that's for sure.
I think that's not crucial, just stick to the pink diet :agree:

CW says that DTD will raise pH...but then again the simple fact is most of the baby girls ever born/conceived were done the old fashioned way...I seriously doubt Joan of Arc's parents conceived her using a turkey baster and lime juice. ;)

I'm sure I read on a site talking about boosting chances of conception not to have an O before DH because it can make the vagina more acidic - though I'm not sure that makes sense. I'm pretty sure I will have O'd after DH when I conceived my boys - it usually works that way for us and I would have made sure I did O because I felt it helped the sperm reach the egg (and probably did!).

I don't feel that was accurate info because your body releases alkaline fluids at O, not acidic. Prob. someone had a typo there.

I had big O before DH with 3 of my girls and after with 1 girl.(boy sway one) But we did not dtd daily and no way from af to O. It was always just one or maybe twice that's it.

I didn't think it sounded right - just goes to show you shouldn't believe all the advice you read on the internet!!

I am 100% positive that i have never o'ed when i got pregnant with my boys...too much pressure and i have to be super relaxed to have a O. Also the reason orgasm is said to help with conception is because when you o your cervix actually drops down and through the waves and contractions sucks up the sperm if they are there but wthout a doubt you dont need that to get pregnant its just extra helpfull for our bodies to work that way.

i either didn't O or O before dh not doing dtd cause i didn't used to get a big O while dtd. can now and think i did when we conieved my son. i certainly did pelivc floor exercises to pull the sperm in.

I always have a big O, usually before my DH, and I have 2 girls. I also got both girls from one time BDs... one was a 4 day cut off and the other was on O day (I think).
