Yesterday I got a positive opk in the morning and we had our one and only attempt last night but then later that night I started throwing up and had to go to the ER for an IV and nausea and diarrhea medicine (sorry tmi). Is this going to ruin our chances of getting pregnant this cycle? I'm worried being this sick will stop me from getting pregnant or it will delay my O too far out. Has anyone had an experience like this?

Sorry to hear you were so unwell. Not sure how your experience will affect the attempt you've already had but maybe you should bd again 4 days from previous attempt just incase of delayed O.

yes!! with my 5th baby, wasnt swaying as didnt know about it.. we bd (which turned out to be our only attempt) as a few hours later i came down with gastro and was really really ill for about 4 days, couldnt keep anything down :( figured that month was out for ttc once i finally got better so just waited for af to arrive so we could ttc the following month.. but af never came because i did get pregnant with our second girl, at the time we had 4 boys at home with us and our angel girl who had passed away during pregnancy, so this huge surprise pregnancy bought us our first living daughter and im convinced my illness played a huge part in her being a girl as i knew nothing of swaying and it was the only thing that prevented us from having more than 1 bd attempt!!
dont rule anything out!! good luck :) xx

That's so wonderful to hear!! I've been on the diet a little over 8 weeks so I'm hoping that between that, fiber, coffee, and alcohol will help us get our girl. I'm glad to hear that if we do get pregnant that being sick could help.

No, not ruined, I would def. pick it up with e4d after this point though in case your body does delay O.

Well, my ovulation was definitely delayed. I got a very clear temp spike this morning that tells me I ovulated yesterday which fits with my symptoms. We were going to have another attempt today since it would be 4 days later but I don't think that would help at all since the egg will probably be expired by then. We may still do it to be safe because it can't hurt. I'm worried though because now our attempt was 3 days before ovulation which doesn't seem likely to result in conception.

Don't despair! Definitely have your attempt today, because despite your temp shift this morning you may not actually ovulate until later. I conceived this baby from an O-3 attempt too. I thought I wouldn't get pregnant either, because I haven't conceived from an O-3 attempt with my other pregnancies. Boy was I wrong!
I'm sending you lots of sticky baby dust your way [emoji597][emoji92][emoji93][emoji94]!

Thank you for sharing your story. That does give me hope and I will have another attempt tonight but I'm almost 100% sure it will be too late. I guess I at least have a shot.

It can't hurt to have another attempt. I know this is probably too late, but whatever you did was the right thing.
