Antral follicle count

Hello!

I have just have a AFC for the pretest. I got 6 on left and 7 on right on my day 2. (No hormones )
I think the gynecologist only measured the follicles that had almost the same size.

Right :
5,5 mm
6 mm
7 mm
7 mm
8 mm

Left :
4 mm
4,5 mm
4,5 mm
4,5 mm
6 mm
6 mm
7 mm

I asked if I had more follicles, and she said yes, only small one, 2 mm. She didn't count that ones.

How did your doctor count your follicles? Everyone from 2 mm and bigger or only same size?

I googled AFC and looks like you can have plenty more! So I am confused.
Everyhing was normal and I don't have any fertility issues.
35 years old. My periods are regular.

I am not an expert but I think your doctor measured them properly. My doctor did the same, she didn't count the very small ones as it is very unlikely they will grow during the cycle.
To complete your pretesting you need to do a blood analysis on day 2-5 of your cycle to check your hormons: e2, fsh, lh, AMH...
With all this you can get an estimation of how you will respond to meds.

I think thats a pretty good number AlfaOmega, lots of girls get positive outcomes with similar afc counts!
