TTC plan....how often to BD?

I am just wondering how often you guys (especially who got boys) bd prior to and around ovulation? My cycle length varies. It could go from 31 to 40 days. And i tried to notice any ovulation pain but dont feel much different around the time. So i have no idea when i would ovulate till the charts shows ovulation.

How did you plan your bd for boy sway? Do you bd every 2-3 days? And if ovulation happens on the 3rd day, it would mean that bd attempts are on O-3 and O+1. Wouldnt this mean to sway girl?
