View Full Version : Have a guess at cosmo's bean!

So we got to see little bean last night and boy was he/she ACTIVE :giggle: The tech tried her very best to get me a nub shot and the first set of images unfortunately were not saved and those were the good ones as the baby was laying flat. The second time she scanned me the baby had his/her legs up and was kicking upwards. My placenta is at the very top and a bit to the right and he/she is towards the back and the bottom just as I thought. I'm absolutely in love!

This is the only photo I got and the only one out of many that showed a potential nub. I was 12W3D yesterday. What do you think?

This is a scan of my image, I got a hude 8x10 haha!

This is a photo I took with our phone, its the same image.

This one is tricky. I believe I can *make* out the nub but the foot raising up is altering the position. I can't make out if it is flat or not. It is on the short side, and I can make out some signs of stacking (it may be an artifact though).

I will give a slight boy guess.

Question: did you see a short nub, even if it was flat? Did it appear to be angled? Any signs of stacking? I ask, because you mentioned in the DD thread there were other shots that captured the nub perfectly.

Let me get back to you on that, Dh saw all of the scan live (we weren't allowed to record) and I have shown him a perfect girl nub for comparison. The first batch of photos were clear yes, but I didn't get a chance to look through them because the tech didn't save them properly so they didn't transfer to the main computer :( I was kinda pissed LOL.

Can you show me a perfect boy nub so I can show DH, he has a very sharp memory and will be able to tell me what was closest to what he saw.

ETA:

I added a photo of the photo I took with my phone. It seems the scan lowered the image quality a tad. What i can see is that the nub follows the spine directly, if that makes sense, so even if the baby was straight, it would be angled.

Ok. Here are some that I found that are classic boy nubs:

Tricky angle. I think slight boy lean, because it looks short and I think I see a little stacking. Good luck, thinking blue thoughts for you!

The more I study the pic, the more confused I get lol. At first I thought he had his back towards the "camera" and the foot we were looking at was coming from his/her left side, meaning the nub wasn't showing properly and we were getting a butt view.

Now, I can see that the leg is coming from the right side and the tummy is there and he/she is facing up. Where is the left leg and foot though? Could it be getting in the way of t he nub? I see some stacking too, but maybe its the other foot, I dunno.

DH said it was very difficult to see, but at no point did he see something sticking straight out like the girl nub I showed him. Baby was just too active to allow us to see much. I was shocked at how much movement there was lol.

I think I know what position the baby is in, taking another look. I believe the baby is slowly turning back fully onto his/her back and the legs and feet are on top on one another. That is why we only see one foot.

This twisting position is causing the nub to be pressed downward. We aren't getting the full view.

I'm sticking with a slight boy lean but it could still go either way. You're going team green, right?

That makes sense and the way he/she was moving, I can see this happening.

lol I don't know if we're going team green anymore. Curiosity is getting the best of me :giggle: DH is fine with either and the midwife really wants an 18 week scan so we still have some time to decide :)

It's earlier than I like to guess and I feel like there is a lot going on there that I may not totally understand. I have a boy vibe but it's just a vibe.

I am getting a boy vibe, but it is just a slight boy lean. Glad the baby was looking good though!!!

It's so lovely when you get to see a little active bean moving around. Not experienced enough to give you a prediction based on this tricky shot but I'm waiting with baited breathe to see if your sway worked. GL.

I agree with others that it looks pretty short but some slight signs of stacking (if thats what we are seeing)

Boy lean cosmo...<3
