I have a strong family history of gestational diabetes/type 2 diabetes and I'm over weight, weight loss has plateaued - in the context of my girl sway I was thinking about starting metformin low dose slow release... I was looking at older threads, does it still seem to sway a bit pink? Thanks :)

Yes. Metformin sways pink. If you can get it, I would take it. I did and loved it. (Also got my girl).

Thanks for your reply - do you mind if I ask what was your dose/how long before attempt you took for/what it was for (if all this isn't too personal)? Thanks again :)

I took it for PCOS. It helps regulate hormones and shorten or regulate a woman's menstrual cycle when her body doesn't do it on its own. I was on it for about 4-5 months before I conceived. It helped my cycles tremendously. I was on 1000mg of the ER version. Some woman go up to 1500 but I was good at 1000. I then stayed on it through my first trimester and then weaned off it.

yes, it sways pink, and I strongly recommend it if you can get it and have the weight to spare.

NOTE - for anyone out there now thinking "oo metformin sways pink, I'll use my mom's" PLEASE don't. It is only for people like this poster who have the history of blood sugar issues and have the weight to spare. A person who weighs 100 lbs should not be on Metformin except under the advice of a doctor (and get a second opinion even then LOL)
