Guessing girl, potty shots at this stage are dicey though. Good luck and pink dust.

I get that you cant trust early potty shots when they say girl because of lack of boy bits or girl from a protrusion but what i dont understand is how clear girl parts would turn into a boy???? I think I'll trust my tech on this one who was absolutely positive this is a girl.

Everyone is guessing girl, but just pointing out that baby is at a changeable age, we have seen some clear genders of both go the other way over the years, so the caution from people is just pointing this out for you and for other people with early potty shots for information and caution with their own if reading this thread now or in the future. Your pics do look girly but neither, to us!, is a perfect shot, your nub shot isn't a classic girl nub but leans girl and your potty shots is very undetailed, your tech probably got alot more clearer shots during the whole scan, we are just going from those two pictures :) Girl guess from me too :)

Really? would you have any links to any of these pics i would be really interested to see, just to compare. I suppose what gives me confidence is the fact that the potty shot is identical to my daughters and shes all girl, I'll post a pic the top one is my daughter and bottom is this baby. Also on my last scan a week before this one the nub was clearly girly.36097

First one that came to mind was Meeks 'boy' but there have been others either way since if you hunt around google for incorrect early potty shots you may be able to come up with some more:) As mentioned girly but as a rule of thumb keep the labels on until birth!!

Yes they definitely look girly!! Now matching them with your potty shot I would be completely surprised if there was any surprise at birth! I recognise your other pics now you post it all together, I had very similar pictures to your ones just posted on one of my girls nub pics, the two distinct white lines.

I also now realise that we both post on a different site, the LP in ELP stands for lilpigs:), 99.99 thats another lady for you, techs make mistakes, ultrasounds show images that trick the best guessers in the world things like that do happen but not thinking it here :)

This reply was for your reposted nub pics:) took and hour to post it as the kids interrupting me! I'm not the best with potty shots but if you have a video then it would be good to see, I doubt there will be anything boyish showing :)

Well, I think I explained this to you already via PM, so please forgive my mindnumbing repetitiveness but all babies look like girls at first. The Y chromosome is dormant. It's sleeping until 10 weeks. Then, it wakes up and starts making testosterone. This testosterone makes "ovaries" turn into testicles and a "clitoris" turn into a penis. A baby that looks 100% like a girl can end up to be a boy. It's fetal development 101 and any tech that guesses on ultrasound shots too soon should probably be fired for it IMVVVVHO.

Potty shots are tricky because unlike nubs, where you are seeing the entire side view beginning to end, potty shots are often showing only the teensiest little bits of stuff. It's totally possible for the tech to be zoomed in too low and not capture the penis, it's totally possible for the penis to just be still on the smaller side and eclipsed by swollen "labia" which are actually developing testicles.

You know why I'm taking time out of my day to explain this to you is not because I"m a big stupid meanie who wants to rain on your parade. It is because I do not want you to be heartbroken if the tech is wrong. It is because I have seen LOTS of people told gender too soon, told 1000% guarantee and the tech is an expert and highly recommended and then the other sites say blah blah blah and people end up in a very very very bad place that could have been totally prevented with a more conservative approach to gender guessing.

It is entirely possible you're having a girl. Yay. But it is not my job or ELP's job to PROVE it to you. It is not our job to go digging through old ultrasounds on your behalf. Both of us have looked at a whole lot of ultrasounds over the years and we are the only ones telling you "gee whiz, looks encouraging but proceed with caution here". That is because we are honest and have your best interest at heart because we've seen it go the other way often enough and know how devastating it is.

We are not the bad guys for not blowing smoke up your ass and telling you what you want to hear.

I wish you the best, hope you're having a girl, but you'll get no more of my time on this. Good luck.

I apologise for inconveniencing you when i posted extra pics i wasnt asking you directly to comment, I've just been excited at the prospect of another girl.

and i wasnt asking you to prove anything to me i was just wondering if you had any of the pics cos i was interested in comparing them to mine. I guess i really just did get overexcited as having another girl is something i dreamed of for years and thought would never happen. My boys were always obvious boys at this gestation and i had no reason to doubt it and they were all boys. I fully expected to go to my scan last week and see another boy nub but when it was more girly i just drove myself insane. Again it was never my intention to annoy anyone.

I keep trying to reply but I have 3 down with the vomiting atm aargh:) And we definitely understand how exciting/nerve wracking the pictures are for everybody! And if it not the pictures its the notes reading lol, I used to swear that somewhere amongst fundal height measurements was a secret code which could only be seen in a certain light which said the gender, and if I stared at it long enough it would reveal itself:bigsmile:

Huge congrats Kelly!! I bet your daughter is super excited.

bursting with excitement doesnt even come close to describing it lol i deliberately didnt take her to scan or even tell her about the scan as i didnt want her to be disappointed if they said boy and i knew i would be controlling the urge to cry and i didnt want her to see that so she had no idea which was lovely. i still dont believe it to be honest, i mean i seen for myself before they even said anything and there was 2 sonographers there as one was going on maternity leave and they both said it but I'll still be terrified at every scan in case it has changed lol. (I do know that that is irrational lol) I think its so funny that out of 8 kids my 2 girls were my only "surprise" pregnancies and the only 2 I cried over lol
