I am starting slowly with my swaying.
I want to see I can increase my PH first before even attempting to ttc
I've got some test strips, Zinc and L-arginine.
Slowly ticking off things from the BOY swaying list.
Any suggestions on what I should get next?
What are you using, or what are you planning on using ?
The L-arginine says to take it with a carbohydrate drink. Is that a sports drink like powerade etc? Do I have to take it with that or can I take it with water ?

Thanks :) I will just post here for now then.
I'm not really sure what to say.
I've wanted another son for a while now, and thought about swaying. I'm feeling really scared to actually do it though.
I've been doing alot of reading and taking notes about supps, diet etc. I was just recently reading my notes and found out I started getting serious about the research back on May this year. I can't believe it's October already and I am still "reading" about it all but not really doing anything.
I am becoming more and more obsessed it's all I think about.
How long did you research ? When did you know / feel it was time? Do you get a feeling or do you just have to go for it and hope for the best?

These are my notes so far, are they correct?
Diet high in potassium and sodium
DTD - deep - usually from behind ( + O for the woman first cause body releases a substance that makes the environment more alkaline which favors boy sperm)
If a couple wants to have a boy they should refrain from having intercourse until 2 days prior to ovulation and then have intercourse daily until ovulation has occurred. It has also been suggested that a man drink a big cup of caffeinated coffee or a big caffeinated soft drink before intercourse to help give the boy sperm an extra little push.
In order to try and conceive a baby boy your vaginal environment has to be alkaline, which is a PH of 7.5-9.8
You can test your PH with PH strips - Y sperm (boy) thrive in a high cm pH, however you don't want it to be any higher than 9.8. You can change cm pH through diet.
Potassium pills 99mg- Makes cm more alkaline add potassium to cm. Only a little is absorbed with pills.
More is absorbed with diet.
Fish Oil 100 mg- EWCM and makes cm more alkaline (only take recommended amount, not meant for dh).
Folic acid 800-1000mcg –strengthens egg and prevents miscarrage and is needed while on the boy diet
and even ttc in general.
Boy Diet
High Alkaline is what you want!
AVOID Dairy (very acidic).
Sodium (salt) and Potassium are GREAT!!
Eat things High in sodium, canned soups are great! Watermelon, bananas, fresh pineapple are high in potassium.
Try to make as much ewcm as possible
Eat lots of meat, salty foods, and drink lots of water. Have DH drink strong coffee
(or Red Bull, something with lots of caffeine) 30 minutes before having DTD
No sex several days before Oing to build up supply
No milk or dairy products (creates an acidic vaginal environment that kills off male sperm) for the mom to be.
Try to have an orgasm before, during, and after sex
What foods are high in potassium?
cantaloupe
Bananas
Oranges
Apricots
Avocado
Strawberries
Potatoes
Tomatoes
Cucumber
Cabbage
Cauliflower
Chard
Bell pepper
Eggplant
Squash
Crimini mushrooms
Brussels sprouts
Turmeric
Parsley

Was just experimenting with my PH strips and decided to test some egg whites OMG the strip changed instantly looks like about 8 1/2.
I tested myself it's a 6 but it's not ewcm, it's not that time yet and I can't reach my cervix so can't test properly even when it is the right time.
Any hints or tips on how to do it?
O should be on 29th Oct

The dilemma is that the advice that I give and the way this site has kinda evolved is not always the same as it is on other sites so some people find that confusing or overwhelming. I can offer you my views on these things but please don't stress, I promise that a lot of people have gotten boys doing nothing other than they did every day of their lives.
1)Sodium - some studies have indicated that a very high sodium intake may be terrible for fertility and a study in rats showed it to sway pink, not blue. Plus, not good for your health at all. It's best to stick to a sane sodium intake and concentrate instead on getting more protein and healthy fats.
2)I prefer people get potassium via diet rather than supps because it's safer, but some people do choose to take potassium supps as well. Please use sane levels of potassium supps and don't go overboard with them, and don't stop them cold turkey.
3)Having intercourse every 2-4 days will keep sperm count high. You can still BD 2-3 times in your fertile window if you like. Some people want to do only one attempt right at O (traditional Shettles timing) but I like people to try at least twice.
4)I wouldn't worry about pH too much. If it's in the 7's at ovulation, that's perfect. Too high of pH is just as bad for sperm as low pH is and may not help you TTC a boy if sperm cannot survive.
5)Fish oil should be 1000 mg and folic acid should be 2000 mcg (micrograms, not milligrams)
6)I personally believe that full fat dairy is great for boys and the idea that you must cut out dairy all together is unsubstantiated by any facts.
7)I would aim for just healthy, balanced foods with a lot of different fruits and vegetables and red meat in them, rather than eating canned soups. Eating canned soups is not great for fertility and not a good way to "spend" your calories. I'd much rather see you eat a big bowl of homemade soup with big chunks of meat and vegetables in it rather than lame-o canned soup which will not do anything for you.
8)The diet goals in my High Everything Diet is
Calories - 2200-2600 or more if you are lifting a lot of weights and putting on muscle and you're happy with it
Protein - 90 grams or more
Fat - Unlimited healthy fats as long as you are not getting too many calories
Sodium - up to 4000 mg if you MUST, without going totally insane and ruining your health
Try to eat 3 meals a day and 3 snacks, and eat protein and carbs at every meal.

I think for us I need to increase my PH + for DH increase his testosterone levels.
I really think I need to work on DH's diet.
I was just reading that skipping meals is not good and can lower testosterone levels.
A typical day for DH
6am - Breakfast - 3 coffees
10am - A pie or sausage roll at work, or maccas or other take away food
6pm - dinner
After dinner a few beers.
I'm working on eating more meat for both us, is mince considered meat or does it have to be steak?

There is lots of different advice and it can be overwhelming for sure. When I first started Januray this year, I was a stressed confused wreck lol. Now, I have decided that I am going for the "high everything" approach. This means eating plenty of food (cereal day and night) and focus on nutrious food with some take away in between (salty meaty take away such as maccas). No you do not have to have steak at all. I have mince (beef) weekly, a roast beef each sunday, sausages, steak.
My days typically look like this:
Breakfast: Oats with oatmilk and chopped banana and a few chopped dates (I can not have dairy but if I could I would have full fat dairy) then a big glass of 1/2 grapefruit juice (good for ewcm) and 1/2 pineapple juice (good for our pH).
Morning tea I fry up a few rashes of bacon and an egg. Salted and sauce lol. Glass of juice.
Lunch I have wholegrain bread with ham and tomato relish, sometimes I add lettuce and sliced tomato. Glass of juice.
Dinner: Either steamed veg and steak, roast beef with roast vegetable, spaghetti bolognese, raviolli, take away usually a nice big burger in a bun with egg, lettuce, onion, tomato and sauce with chips. Have a glass of juice too.
My treats are peanut or almond m&m's totally addicted to these lol! If I need a snack I have a vegemite sandwhich or a penut butter sandwich or handfull of sultanas or penuts or some sliced tinned peaches in syrup.
Before bed I have the same as brekkie.
I have gained sooo much weight but have joined the gym few months ago although only go 3 times a week.. so I am not losing weight but hopefully won't gain anymore!
I drink water with lemon juice throughout the day.
DH has same as me too.

I wish it could all be in agreement but we are all just following the evidence in the directions it takes us.
Please ASK about anythign that doesn't make sense and I or someone else will explain. I LOVE questions. promise the evidence on this site does hang together in a logical and sensible way that is 100% supported by science and common sense, the problem is that some other sites are trying to include theories that have been utterly debunked, old wives tales, and some things that they are maybe just not interpreting completely correctly, so their advice does not always mesh with mine. There are always firm reasons tho and I will explain anything that does not make sense.
I do think that prenatals are a big step in the right direction.

Atomic, when you swayed pink what things were you doing/eating/drinking?
I took the 1200 cal/ 250 mag/400 Vit D combo, vitex 2 w on 2 w off, B6 100 mg, a lot of extra folic because DS 3 has spina bifida, plus a prenatal and a DHA supp because I am older than the hills LOL. (so everything I tell the pink swayers on here, not to do!!) Cran gives me unbelievably bad headaches and I was BF so didn't want to take aspirin either. Drank aspartame every day but not a disgusting amount, only a glass or two.
Eating habits - I was trying to do a Low Everything style diet but I hadn't really fleshed out what that was exactly yet. I was eating too much butter for sure and also yogurt and cheese. I did cut back quite a bit of my sodium and though I did continue eating some tomato and potato, it wasn't my normal amount and I was getting barely any potassium anyway. I was vegetarian but that was tough because DH was REALLY not on board with swaying and is not supportive of my GD in general, and he kept getting super annoyed with me whenever I tried to follow my vegetarian plan when he was around. I began to get worried that he would pull the plug on conceiving if he thought I was too wrapped up in getting a girl rather than a baby. So I did eat more meat than I really ought to have because when he was around I would sometimes just go with what he was wanting to eat rather than insisting (like he would want to go out to eat or visit relatives and so I was kinda stuck.)
I was losing a lot of weight but then I stopped for a month to regain a little bit to lose it again, ate breakfasts more than I had been, and got pg accidentaly that month after I had gained about 3 lbs. I was also planning to take antihistamine but I didn't have a chance.

ph 5 isn't great but a lot of people have had success getting their pH to go up just with diet. No worries, it's gonna go up.
220 mg zinc is way too much, that's for people who have colds to take only for a few days and then stop. He can take 50 at most and it may be better for him to take more like 25-30. If you want to take some zinc you should take even less, like 15-25.
Sorry if I put too much pressure on the no smoking - as long as he goes on some sperm-friendly supps like l-arg and l-carnitine, that will undo some of that damage anyway.

He is on L-arg he isn't a heavy smoker, less then 10 day so I hope it helps.
I don't know how to give him less zinc, maybe I can cut the table in half.
It's Natures Own Amino Acid Chelated, Zinc 220mg, equiv to elemental zinc 22mg
Is that the wrong zinc?
No, it's the elemental zinc you are after. So he is actually taking just the right amount.

Been getting a bit slack with the food. Yesterday I didn't eat until lunch time.
Today has been ok I think
Breakfast - 10 mins after waking up - Nutri Grain
2 hours later - 3 pieces of 9 seed bread with vegemite
1.5hrs later - banana
lemon water
I would like to see you getting a bit more protein and trying for protein and carbs together at every meal and snack if you can. So with your banana you might want to add a few nuts or a hard boiled egg. Same with the Nutrigrain bar. The prob. is that just carbs cause your blood sugar to rise high and then crash, and 2 hours is plenty of time for this drop in blood sugar to occur. For TTC a boy you want your blood sugar to stay nice and even all the time, so protein and carbs together is the best way to accomplish this.

Getting more and more slacker with the diet and drinks as we go along so need to get that sorted out.

I'm not sure whats going on with me.
I am CD15 had some cramps NYE and some mixed cloudy/clear CM don't think it was O though.
Last cycle O was CD24 and the 2 cycles before that it was CD19.
I'm not doing OPT and not checking cervix, not doing BSF or BSB not doing anything, just DTD when we feel like it. Not actively ttc but were not using protection.

Hi LBAM- if you are in the low maintenance ttc mode there, I would just dtd every other day. OR you could just watch your cm like a hawk if yours changes. OR- you could just dtd when you feel like it, because we get hornier when we ovulate (good old nature, eh?). I hope you are doing ok. I know it's frustrating, but just keep your chin up and try not to feel deflated about the swaying. You have a great shot doing absolutely nothing at all. I myself have had months where I do very little....sometimes you just need a little break from actively ttc with all bells and whistles.

WOW my last post was in Jan 2012.
Update from me.
I think I am in the 2ww. Had a really long cycle this month.
I have irregular periods most of the time between 27-44 days.
We have not used any protection at all since oct 2011 and I am still not pregnant.
A few months ago I gave up actively ttc and stopped trying. Didn't use any protection but just tried to dtd only during the safe times.
This cycle I got to CD 30 and noticed I still hadn't had any EWCM so thought I must have missed O and didn't think much about it. Thought ok well we probably in the safe zone now cause AF would be due anyday.
DTD CD32 and then on CD33 I noticed alot of EWCM. I thought maybe it was left over semen so I done the water test and turns out it was ewcm. Well I think it was so now I think I am in the 2ww, what do you think?
I am now CD40
I'm getting some cramps. Tried to check CM it's dry and cloudy and sticky is that how it should be a few days before AF?
The past few months i've had alot of trouble with EWCM having hardly any at all, this cycle I had a few big globs of it over 2 days.
Just trying to work out what day I should count as O day.
I had a pregnancy test here and I stupidly wasted it today BFN.
Sorry to ramble on.

Hey LBAM, good to see you back. Are you using opks? Sure you know when you O with those irregular cycles? I hardly have ewcm either, which I think is due to my age and hormones, probably. I used to have a lot more in my 20s, that is for sure. My cm gets the same right before AF, even though it will be creamy, and lots of it, during the 2ww- which always makes me think maybe, just maybe, I am pg. So, it's been 7 cycles or so? Just saying, but it might be time for a trip to the doctor to check your hormones or something.....you can obviously get pg with 5 kids, but sometimes you just need a little tweak to get things just right.

It's def. possible you Oed late and are now in the 2WW. Or it's also possible that was a faker and you still haven't Oed. The only way to know for sure would be ultrasound/blood tests. I've had a couple fake O's where I had tons of EWCM and even cramps and stuff, but I never ovulated at all.
CM can be sticky, dry, cloudy at various times in the cycle so no way to tell by that, unfortunately.

Nope stopped using OPK's ages ago cause I stopped swaying and ttc.
I'm not really ttc but if I am pregnant I will be happy, yeah it's been about 7 cycles I think. Which is really long for me. I usually fall pregnant first time.
I think seeing my Dr is a good idea.

Thanks for the reply. I might wait until 14 days past ewcm and if I am still getting negative tests and no AF I'll go get some blood tests.

I would definitely recommend using OPKs when you actively start TTC again. Otherwise you will never really have an idea of O until AF arrives and if you haven't timed intercourse then you might miss your chance. But, I agree with Lola, maybe go to the doctor to get your hormone levels checked. They might even be able to prescribe Clomid or something to get your cycles a bit more regular.

I stayed off the forums for a while cause I wasn't getting pregnant so I wanted to stop swaying and stop ttc and just go with the flow, but it was a bit hard to not think about it when I was on the forums everyday.
So I've been going with the flow, no swaying and no charting, nothing.
I honestly thought it would have happened by now.
I'm usually so fertile and have no problems at all. I'm starting to think I've done something while trying to sway, maybe I messed up my hormones or something I don't know.
I haven't seen a Dr yet.

My mums friends daughter was having trouble falling pregnant for the second time so she saw her Doc, turns out the birth of the first baby changed the shape or position of her cervix (sorry i dont know the exact details as it was a story i heard down the grapevine, not from the actual girl) but they were able to give her advice or something about it and she fell pregnant again, it may be something simple like that going on with you, you should really go see your Doc.

I've always been so fertile. It's actually probably been longer then 14 months, the months go by so quickly ( except the 2ww lol) I think my first sway attempt was around Oct 2011.

I def. advise medical advice at this stage of the game. It is absolutely possible to go from very fertile to having secondary infertility and it can happen at any age.
Wishing you the best of luck!!
