Yes, it is unprotected sex once every 4 days. Some prefer to even stretch it one more day to be sure they are only in with one attempt in fertile window but that does cut odds of conception to do it that way.

Can you still have sex other days too but with protection?

You can but it may cut odds of conception to do that. (some people will actually have their hubbies release on the off days either on his own or with a condom as a sway tactic, though)

pH is just a theory and quite frankly a pretty bad one. Tons of us, myself included, got pH opposites. http://genderdreaming.com/forum/gender-swaying-general-discussion/11684-ph-pickle.html
We are getting good results with e4d. Right now, one attempt has 67%, every 4 days has 66%. Even though not a lot of people have done e4d (or at least reported their results) it does seem to be as good as one attempt. Now, I'd still urge everyone to start off with one attempt first since it has way more results but I think e4d is a good method that will continue to be effective for us.

They are great statistics! I prob will have to every 4 days as I ovulate different days each cycle. Although may be different after this baby..my periods could get regular. People have told me that can happen..which would be great. Id hate to do 1 attempt and then it not being near ovulation due to my weird cycles. Although every 4 days... could end up being 4 days before ovulation which might make it harder to conceive. Hard to know!

Also for 1 attempt does that mean partner has to abstain the rest of the time? Is the day after ovulation in the fertile window.
For bd every 4 days.. if u do end up trying twice in fertile window due to this does it lower the chance of a girl a lot?

Well, that's why we use the OPK, to help us know when to have the one attempt though. So it's not just picking a day randomly, we have the technology to know when O is coming.
Re every 4 days, yes there is an element of luck involved but most will have their attempts on O-3 and then the next one on O Day. So if there are any sperm left from the O-3 attempt, the egg shows up and they will have fertilized it before the O Day shot will have capacitated (sperm cannot fertilize the egg immediately, it takes several hours). If there aren't any left over, then the O Day BD will be there as a backup. So either way, it works as if it is one attempt really.
Some people do choose to go that extra day and end up with O-4 and O Day (if they have bad luck, that is, most of the time they'll have attempt on O-3 or O-2 or O-1 instead) and yes that is going to be lower odds of conception, but possibly better chances of pink. We just don't know for sure.
No, your partner does not have to abstain the rest of the time. Some will add abstain onto that but only 7-10 days before. Others will do daily release or even just skip that part and have hubby release every 2-4 days or nothing at all and just let him "do what he does". That part has not seemed to matter much if at all, it's the one attempt or e4d that has seemed to help.

Thanks so much:) I just worry opks will not work for me incase I have pcos so LH levels could go up and then opk could pick it up when I am not actually ovulating. I have a monitor called ovusense. Have u heard of it? It is good but you do not know u have ovulated until after the tenperature rise. Might be best me bd every 4 days.

So if u bd on o3 and o it definitely is only 1 attempt and not 2? That is the one thing I worry about bd every 4 days.

Ovusense can also be tricked by PCOS too, unfortunately. I'd probably go with e4d in that case.

Ok so why does bd every 5 days sway pink more if bd 4 days would count as 1 attempt too? So sorry for all the questions! Yeah maybe bd every 4 days would be best for me and hopefully one day it will end up bd on o2 or o1 and not always o4 or o3. X

Because it is simply more certain to be 1 attempt. It avoids even the outside chance that there could be sperm left over from O-3 and O Day.

I thought you said it would count as 1 attempt though since the sperm from 03 would fertilise an egg before sperm from O? Now I am unsure what to do in the future because I would have to do bd every 4 days as I can't use opks:( Every 5 days I feel may really lower chances of conception. I would love my next baby to be close in age to this baby:)

Hi
Maybe i should try using ovusense which will show a temperature rise when I ovulate and try using an opk to confirm it.. that way I can see if an opk works for me

I am not here to talk you into or out of anything. I am explaining the rationale between these things. I cannot guarantee that e4d will ALWAYS work the way it is supposed to work and thus since e5d is even further out it is even more likely to be one attempt than e4d is. But yes, it cuts odds of conception considerably.
I have laid out the reasoning behind both methods. Now YOU must make up your mind between them.

By the time the temp rises, the egg is already gone. (I understand that is not what you're asking me but just want to make sure you know that.)
The problem is that things change with your patterns. They do not always hold steady month by month and so what happens in one month may not help you know what will happen in the future. It is worth a try (but you'll have to wait till you are several months postpartum to try it, of course) just don't count on that it will always stay the same every month that passes by.

Ok thanks. Probably every 4 days may be best as every 5 days could end up 04 sometimes
