Well, despite deciding earlier this year to put off TTC for a while longer...we are just going for it. I'm taking my paragard out next week, going to give it a month, and then hope for a fast conception. I never lost the weight I wanted to lose, I'm not getting into the hard core exercising that I was doing before, I haven't taken any supplements or changed my diet...pretty much all the things I did last time are not getting done this time. I'm both fearful, and relieved. Part of why we keep putting TTC off is the "need" to do this all "the right way", which I feel like we did last time. We keep saying "6 more months, and we'll be in a better place", but every time we reflect - there's no change.

DH suspects that some of the physical changes of his body are a sign of his testosterone dropping. He's sluggish, irritable, and his drive is a fraction of what it normally is. I don't want to wait for it to get even worse.

If I start adding in the supplements, will it even make a difference at this point? Is there really any hope to sway boy with maybe 6 weeks before trying?

Yes of course!! Taking prenatals or multivitamins (just that one little thing) was one of the more successful blue sway tactics we had!!

What other supps were you planning to take?? If you were going to take EPO, let's not do that one. I know you had a plan in the past and the last few months I've been dropping that from the supps. Additionally, if you were or are drinking a lot of almond or coconut milk replacers (I recall you are a vegetarian) let's drop or cut way back on those, too. I feel like we've seen more opposites in people who were doing a lot of milk replacers. And as for wheatgrass, while I do still think wheatgrass juice itself is ok, I am starting to reduce usage of the supplements themselves for vegetarians (and maybe eventually for everyone).

Trying to figure out the supplements now, actually. I took out my old plan, but I'm not taking the same prenatal, so I'm trying to figure out how to adjust.

Currently Starting back up:
Rainbow Light Prenatal One https://www.amazon.com/Rainbow-Light-Prenatal-Multivitamin-Tablets/dp/B000EE8036
Vit D 1000
Probiotic

Need to figure out Fish Oil, DHA??, Folic Acid, and Co Q 10. I don't remember if brand makes a difference.

You had mentioned to drop the EPO before, so not going to bother with that. I do drink Unsweetened Original Almond Milk, just to be a little dairy light...so that's a no? With DD1, I was a heavy cow milk drinker. By DD2, my natural minded family doctor had put the fear of dairy into me and I was mostly dairy free. Now I'm kind of somewhere in the middle. We don't cut cheese out, I use whole milk for cooking and the occasional hot chocolate, but usually use almond milk for cereal and drinking for taste.

I'm not a vegetarian.

This Fish oil says "500" but then the label says something different. I can't seem to find anything that is right around that 500 https://www.amazon.com/Nature-Made-Pearls-Softgel-Count/dp/B0088BKGUM/ref=sr_1_3?s=hpc&ie=UTF8&qid=1495720750&sr=1-3-spons&keywords=nature+made+fish+oil&psc=1

The Rainbow Light also makes a good DHA product (this would take the place of fish oil so no need for more) The NatureMade is fine as well.

The Rainbow Light prenatal does make me a little nervous as it has RRL in it and also spirulina. The RRL we do not truly know how it sways and it may cause uterine cramping in early pregnancy so not 100% convinced it is safe for people to continue into pregnancy. The Spirulina makes me nervous because it has naturally occuring chemistry in it that may be harmful in larger amounts but that may just be me overthinking it.

I'll explain the issue with almond milk as I suspect it works. We have studies that indicate in animals, more vegetable fat
than animal fat (with all else appearing to be equal) seemed to sway pink. So some people are drinking tons of almond milk, and that coupled with other things in their diet may inadvertently sway pink. If you're only getting a little veg fat then the almond milk is not going to harm anything, but if you're (as an example) taking EPO, cooking in olive oil, eating lots of walnuts and pumpkin seeds, and in addition to that, also having a quart of almond milk every day, then we may have a problem.

Sorry about the vegetarian mixup, I sometimes get things mixed up in my brain. :)

Thanks a lot. The last time you said to do fish oil, then switch to the DHA...are we just kind of skipping that extra step now?

Also on my list is Folic Acid, 2000 seems pretty high, is that still the recommendation?

I don't know how you keep up with all this, it makes my head spin!

I'm trying to optimize our odds here by putting together a lot of info gleaned from various sources with good sense. So since quite a few sources are saying "saturated fats are good for blue" and fish oil may lower cholesterol (which come from saturated fats kinda) since you already have one opposite, I'm thinking let's skip fish oil, use lower amount of DHA, and see what that gets us.

Folic is high but that is just a precaution since a lot of people do the green tea. Green tea is proven to block folic absorption and it only takes a weirdly small amount to do that. I conceived a baby with a neural tube defect taking 800 mg a day and eating really healthy foods, drinking only one green tea a day (did not know it at the time). Since some people are doing green tea, and you just excrete the excess in your urine I recommend that. Some of the other supps people take (not ones I recommend) also make you lose folic. It's up to you but I would def. do at least 800-1200. Folate is better if you can afford it.

I've added the co-q 10 and the folic acid...and something is making me sick. I did both last time, so I'm not sure why it's weird now. I'm going to try going without the extra folic acid tomorrow and see if it happens again, but this is 3 days in a row with symptoms. I thought day one was from weekend feasting, then day two I assumed was period cramping/PMS, but today I was a little late on taking everything and I felt so much better...and within an hour of taking them I feel terrible again.

Having reactions to supplements feels like a symptom of getting old, lol.

Drop coq10 too. That one is not neccesary anyway.

Can you elaborate on what you mean by sick? Sick nauseous?

Stomach pains (crippling), migraine, dizziness, sensitivity to light and sound - which is all making me irritable, as one would imagine with two squeaky girls.

yes drop the coq10, I actually think that's more likely than the folic since it can lower blood pressure.
