View Full Version : LE diet vegetarian questions

I am just starting the LE diet this week. I skip breakfast when I'm not exercising and if I do exercise I just eat an apple on the way to the gym. I stopped snacking and I am sticking to 2-3 meals a day. I don't drink coffee at all (hate it!) and I am going to try to drink wine a couple times a week.
1st question- can I just drink wine 2 weeks before BD or should I try to add it the whole time?
What I am having a LOT of trouble with is the vegetarian aspect... can I stick to white meat a couple times a week? How important is the vegetarian aspect? Is it because of the protein? As long as I am not eating too much I'm ok?

Hey I'm starting this week too!!!
For me it's been an absolutely massive change to my normal habits!!!
Skipping breakfast is something I have never ever done!! And no snacking is so hard!!
Am forcing myself to drink coffee and at first it was awful but now I actually look forward to it!
No advice about the meat, so far I've gone veggie but am ganna have some meat on weekends! X

Drinking instant! With abit of skimmed milk! And I started off with one sugar
Then moved to artificial sweetener
And now just milk!
We have a coffee machine with pods etc that my partner uses but I find them so strong that I need so much milk and sugar to make them drinkable i feel it counter acts having it if that makes sense!
Just using milicano instant from Tesco xx

I'm not sure tbh as I'm quite new to all this
I have mine first thing when I wake up and then one more with breakfast at about 11 ish
I think if it has calories in it then it's classed as a 'snack'
So I'm guessing would be best with a meal so your blood sugar levels aren't raised from the coffee on its own! X

1)Wine: We don't know. Just don't have that level of data to know how long before sway is necessary with the alcohol.
2)Yes, you can have meat a couple times a week. The MAIN reason why I have people go vegetarian is that it makes it easier to stick to the diet. When people eat meat, since it has a lot of protein for relatively few calories people end up eating a hunk of chicken and going over on protein but only have eaten 400 cals or so. Then what do you eat the rest of the day?? People end up on these awful diets of chicken and gummy worms and cucumbers which is starvation and not allowed. So if you can stick to the diet and have meat now and then it is ok to do that.

If it's with a meal you can have sugar in it. If between meals or in the morning you can have with artificial sugar and/or milk. FWIW this was a cheat I personaly had. I had my coffee in the morning with milk and real sugar. Just wasn't willing to give that up. Still got a girl. Technically I think it's better not to do it that way, of course.

So coffee with skimmed milk and Splenda or something similar in the morning and between meals is ok? X

Would a couple tablespoons of almond milk creamer in coffee be ok, or should I stick with milk and an artificial sweetener? Here's the nutritional info.

ACV is one of those great unknowns that I am preferring EVERYONE stay away from for now.
Traditionally ACV was used in blue sways. It was said to "alkalininze" people. But that was before the research into blood sugar. ACV is SUPEReffective at lowering blood sugar and once I saw that - and the BS stuff is among the best research we have - I ditched it for blue sways.
But that doesn't mean that therefore it has to sway pink, either. Most people will want to stay away from anything that's ever been said or rumored to sway blue in any way LOL and certainly no one on the Planet Earth has ever gotten boys because they had an ACV shortage, so I see no point in anyone taking it.
If you want to do something to lower blood sugar, there's always cinnamon. Now be aware that I do not find cinnamon to be something that most people, or even more than like 5-10% of people should use. I only use it among a small subset of people who have proven PCOS/IR or more than 50 lbs to lose and I do not want ANYONE using it without my explicit approval as to whether it is right for them and how much to take it and when.

What is your reasoning on the cinnamon? I do not have PCOS or a ton of weight to lose, but have been putting a little in my coffee every morning (for months) [emoji51]

NO ONE do cinnamon without clearing it with me, gals. Those of you who have had a pinch (and seriously, I mean a PINCH, not a teaspoon or even 1/4 teaspoon) for several months you are obviously tolerating it ok and can continue doing that. But people go bat---t crazy with the cinnamon and it is POWERFUL. People think "oh it's just cinnamon" but it really, really, REALLY lowers blood sugar for people and it only takes a miniscule amount (1/4 teaspoon) to do that. So people will have super low blood sugar, feel terrible, and one woman even passed out after eating it, and I tried to take the capsules for overall health and I nearly passed out and I wasn't even dieting!!! Plus, it's also a strong blood thinner and can cause other harm (such as liver damage) when taken in excess.

Onelastsway, are you not the lady who has had trouble keeping weight on and have gone on for ages not getting pregnant (sorry people's user names are all quite similar so just want to be certain I have the right lady here) PLEASE wean off the cinnamon IMMEDIATELY by spacing doses further and further out till down to one day a week and/or overall dietary amounts, whatever you'd have had normally. This is not helping you conceive in any way, shape, or form.

Don't just drop it, wean off, since it's a blood thinner you should gradually ease it back. :)
