I here ya, Wantanother! I love how we are so talkative though. I know personally, it's nice to have someone to talk to about things that I can't with others IRL.

Fox- I'm feeling pretty good for the most part. I've been feeling nauseous/sour stomach/sick in the evenings since 19 weeks! It doesn't look like it's a one off thing [emoji20]. I'm hoping it helps keep my weight in check, haha! I've only gained 13-15lbs so far. I'm hoping to only gain another 5-7 [emoji23]! We will just have to see about that [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23]!

Wow XX! I'm jealous. Sorry you aren't feeling great though. I've gained 20 and I haven't had the guts to weigh in a few weeks. Yikes!!!

However, I was close to starving on the LE diet and went bananas when I could actually EAT again. I had dwindled down to 107lbs and looked unwell.
I've just recently calmed down to a normal human consumption level. So we shall see. Just happy to be at 22 weeks almost!

I'm still feeling sick in the mornings, and I still throw up if I have to do something gross before I have time to eat and let it settle, like change a poopy pullup (DS2 is daytime trained but wears one to bed).

Xx, good luck with that! I find I tend to gain suddenly when I hit the third trimester no matter what I do. I'm doing the best so far, it fluctuates day to day but I think I'm only up around 3-4 lbs. My blood sugar is already misbehaving so I'm watching what I'm eating pretty closely.

Fox- I know, right?!? For me the trend has been I stop gaining weight (maybe only a pound or two) from 34-36 onward. I am petite (5ft4in) and there gets to be no room! We will see what happens this time around!

Sorry your BS is acting up! I periodically monitor mine, because I became super sensitive to carbs with my DS2. Even though my glucose tests were fine, my OB had me switch up my diet. I had classic symptoms of GD, but I never had it. 🤞🏻you don't get it!!!

I was diagnosed with gestational diabetes again a few weeks ago so feeling pretty dodgy before and after i eat its looking likely i will be back on insulin soon which im dreading as it means induction but i also know from last time it will make me feel better. I just hate induction as it takes 3 days to get me into labour and thats a nightmare with a large family as my house is over an hour away from hospital.

If I don't have it now, I will soon. I'm watching it trend upwards by the day. I had it with both boys, I was diagnosed late with DS1 and he had a rough time. :(

Found out today 4th boy. I knew it when my other sons (who were desperate for a girl) told me that it was definitely a boy and also my horoscope at the weekend was 'try to think positive this week'.

Struggling. I felt sure this was my chance. Tbh, I don't want another baby, can't afford one, had so many hassles with colic/reflux/horrific times with the others, the fact it was a girl was going to make it worthwhile. Don't know why I thought I'd be lucky this time - not usually a particularly lucky person!

All that dieting for nothing :(

Wanted to buy a dress....

kelly and five - looks girly to me :)
lucy - so sorry you are feeling down about hearing boy #4. HUGS Praying you start to feel better soon. Our boy #4 is the best thing for our family! He will be exactly what you need.

AFM - still swaying like I am on a boat (on my 4th week of this nonsense), dry heaving most mornings, and am trying to pack to move into our new house next weekend! YIKES!!! So much to do and just can't seem to feel well enough to get there. But the move and buying the new house has really made time fly as I can't believe I am 18w already. Wish I was feeling the baby more, but at least I know that with the anterior placenta, I won't for a bit more.

Of course they printed the one without the "something"!!!! [emoji849] and then I called back and they said there weren't any more of just the spine!!! lol obviously it's a sign I need a stop analyzing my ultrasounds and just wait till October!

Faithinpink- it's completely normal! I'm so emotional still too. I can cry at the drop of a hat. Just the other day, we were watching the movie Trolls. I cried like a baby at the duet of the song True Colors! When someone hurts my feelings, I cry. I never cry- I'm a tough cookie! I've been resorted to mush! I'm sure you look beautiful! With all of my past pregnancies, I've learned that my view of how I look is grossly distorted. When I look back at bump pics, I don't look huge at all! In the moment, we feel uncomfortable, insecure, etc. I believe that this distorts how we perceive how we look. Hang in there! We are all here for you!!

Faith in pink, I think it's normal to feel more sensitive during pregnancy. I don't normally cry easily but when I'm pregnant I get really sappy and I will cry at sad new stories, movies, even commercials. But if you're sad all the time and it's interfering with your life you should talk to your doctor. It's possible to get prenatal depression.

AFM, I can feel kicks around my belly button area now, anyone else? I'm quite surprised and didn't realize the uterus was expanded so high up at 20W, I'm finally needing to look into some maternity clothes. I seem to be getting wider at the hips vs popping out though lol.

Thanks, Cosmo. I just started feeling kicks now, but still well below the belly button. My uterus is only about halfway up my abdomen at the moment, so I guess my bump is all displaced organs. :p I'm only 17 weeks tomorrow, though, and I always carry low.

Beautiful pics ladies! I was just thinking...how did everyone get so far along already! And to have the nursery done! That is just crazy fiveboys! Good for you. I will be lucky if we have everything moved into and sorted in the new house by Nov at this rate!

My anatomy scan is on the 26th at exactly 20w. If we can make it through that without finding out, we will be golden! I just had to go to the Dr today for a UTI. Yuck. Hoping it clears soon and that the elevated proteins and sugars in my urine were from that!

I haven't taken one prenatal this pregnancy. /: they made me so sick with my daughter so I was afraid to take them this time. I took a multivitamin first trimester but then stopped as soon as they ran out. I wouldn't worry too much!

I've been plagued by Braxton Hicks! Of course they would have to wake me up and keep me awake from 12am-2am! Uncomfortable cramping! My OB said that they are perfectly normal and help "tone" the uterus. I use it as a way to practice breathing and getting my mind right for labor. But at 12-2am?!? I have a feeling she will make her appearance mid-late morning! All of my boys I had BH in the evening/early night time, and they were born 4-9:21am. We will see if my prediction holds true!

How is everyone else feeling?

Love everyone's bump pictures and hope everyone is doing well!
I had my 20 weeks ultrasound yesterday and they saw brightening of the bowel which is a soft marker for cystic fibrosis, downs and other things...or it could be nothing. I had the panorama which gave me a <1/10,000 risk for downs. Husband and I were both tested to see if we were carriers for CF and we are not, thank goodness. They did labs while I was at the hospital yesterday to test for numerous viruses that could cause this...CMV, parvo and toxo. No results yet. They said it could be because of my size...being small can sometimes cause bright bowel to show? I'm a nervous wreck. The next step is an amnio if anything shows up abnormal or if I want to 100% rule out any genetic chromosomal abnormalities. They said I'd need frequent ultrasounds to follow the issue and it could just go away?!
On a positive note, everything else looked perfect. This little guy was so cooperative and absolutely adorable! If anyone has ever had this issue or has any advice, I'd love to hear it! Thanks ladies!

(((Huge Hugs))) Roe! I too have not heard about this before, but I'm hoping it's just a one off thing. With my DS2, he had soft markers for Downs Syndrome (I did not have an NIPT). I can't remember what was abnormal on the scan though. I do know it was 2 different things, which made me super worried. I had a scan 4 weeks later along with tons of blood work to test for different things. Long story short, he is perfectly healthy! I'm hoping and praying that the same will hold true for you! We will all be here for you if you need to vent or to process things!!

I just have to say that I think I am finally at peace with the possibility that this baby is most likely boy #5. I have started looking at boy names and just feel that no matter the gender, this little one is our perfect caboose! I think I will always be a little sad if I never get to experience a girl, but it does not make me cry to think about it. Being team Green had really helped me come to terms with this I think. I do not dread looking at the girls section of the store anymore or anything. (Even though I do cringe at some of the little girl *fashions* I see)
I hope and pray that everyone here gets either their desired gender or to be at peace with their family as created by the universe specially for them. God and/or the Universe (depending on your beliefs) picked this precious soul to join your family and it will be the perfect fit and the best addition for everyone! Hang in there as most of us are to the halfway point and beyond! Enjoy those little kicks (when you can feel them).

Roe praying everything tests negative! Def a scary feeling.. but I'm sure all is well with the little bean!!

I had a leak scare today. Been having a lot of watery discharge since last night to where I worried it was possibly amniotic fluid, it seriously was like urine I was so confused. So they check me about an hour ago and it came back negative thank god!

Roe, that sounds very scary! My aunt went through something similar and her son is now a senior in high school :) I'm certain everything is okay with your little one! <3

Nann, I started to question my discharge too and keep smelling it, but it doesn't smell like amniotic fluid plus baby has been giving some serious kicks the last few days. I think many of us are experiencing a big increase in discharge right around 20-25 weeks or so. That's what I'm telling myself anyway lol.

Okay ladies, lets talk about sex. What is considered too rough for pregnancy? I seriously don't recall anything from my pregnancy with DD 10 years ago and my DH has a very high drive. My vagina gets irritated easily, but Im more worried of breaking my water or too much movement. What precautions are you all taking?

Erin514
June 16th, 2017, 12:01 AM
Roe, I'm so sorry to hear about your scare. I really hope it turns out to be nothing. I had an abnormality turn up in an u/s with DS1 that corrected itself at a later scan (choroid plexus cysts in his brain). I know it's not the same thing as your situation and I don't know what the odds are that the brightening will go away, but I remember how worried I was over a result that turned out to be nothing. At least if your Harmony test showed such a low risk for the trisomies and have excluded yourself and DH as carriers for CF, it sounds like you have a good chance that this is nothing. I really hope you can confirm this is the case soon. Keep us posted.

Cosmo, I'm actually kind of scared to have sex while pregnant, lol. Poor DH has been mostly neglected. Hope this isn't TMI, but does anyone else have intense Braxton Hicks after O? Because I do, and they are really painful so it's pretty scary! Sometimes the contraction will have my uterus rock-hard for a full ten minutes. I'm too worried this will hurt the baby to want to do anything that would be fun for me. Same thing happens lately just from nursing so I'm trying to wean my DS2, who is pretty pissed off with me as a result.

Mine is posterior and right at the front. I can hardly ever feel this baby. It totally blows.

The tech told me mine was at the fundus, this means at the very top right? It would explain why I've felt movement from super early on and baby seems to be very low also.

Yes. I have an anterior placenta, which I was told is in the front of my uterus. This had caused me to feel movement consistently at 18 weeks!!!

I would pay attention to movements, be on the look out for any spotting, and any pain that persists. You can always notify your OB and let them make the call.

Hang in there! I'm sure baby is fine! When I was 18 weeks, I slid down 4-5 wooden stairs really hard. I had cramping off and on that evening. My hip, wrist, and ankle hurt so bad! My OB had me come in the next day and get a scan. All was just fine! I hope the same for your sweet baby!

Sounds like things are good Erin!

I moved this past weekend and though I have not lifted heavy boxes at all, I did have to do a lot of work. I am worried about the baby now. :( Wish I did not have this stupid anterior placenta. I can barely feel the baby move on a good day. Monday can't come soon enough for my anatomy scan. But I am so worried we will see no HB. UGH. I guess this just stems from my other losses, but wish I was feeling consistent movement.
Anyone else not feel much with an anterior placenta at 19 weeks?

Just dropping in ladies...I hope everyone is doing well.

Roe- I hope everything comes back ok with the baby. I know its scary having that lingering over you until you find out. (((HUGE HUGS)))

Erin and Shann- I'm sure everything is ok with your bubs. You know women can handle a lot even while pregnant. Shann I was ripping up carpet when I was 7 months with DS1 because I wanted hardwood floors put in his nursery. DH was taking too long to do it lol! But if you feel uneasy about it definitely check with your OB.

AFM...I have my gender scan tomorrow and I want to be surprised at the gender reveal so I have promised myself I will not look at the screen or I will ask her to turn it off so I'm not tempted. :o:o. I found a company on Etsy that does confetti cannons and I ordered mystery cannons and I will try to get the u/s tech to email the results to the company and then they will send me cannons filled with either pink or blue confetti. Hopefully the tech will email the results so all our family and close friends can surprised together.

Shannshaff, I'll be 18 weeks tomorrow and I typically only feel a hint of movement once or twice per day when I'm lying down concentrating, some days I don't feel anything. I don't know for sure I'm anterior, but this is very different from my previous pregnancies so it would make sense.

Ahorn, I like the confetti idea, that sounds so cute. I hope the u/s tech agrees to email for you. If not, it seems like most places will write it on a note so you could always give the note to a trusted friend to email for you.

Hi ladies! I hope everyone is doing well!
I appreciate all of the thoughts and prayers! I got all of the blood work back and there doesn't seem to be any recent or active infection that could be causing the brightening of the bowel. My doctor and the perinatologist seem to think that my Panorama is very reliable to rule out downs and no one seems to think I need the amnio. I have a repeat ultrasound in 3 weeks. Apparently, this shows up on some women just because they are "small." I find that hard to believe in my case because I've been this size in both of my other pregnancies and had no issue. They said it is common for the issue to just resolve and it usually does by 30 weeks. I am 21 weeks...it's going to be a long second trimester!!

Oh my goodness, I'm so sorry shannshaff. How awful to have decided to go team green and now "know but not-know". Would you feel better asking your OB to tell you the gender now that you think you know anyway, just so you don't have to spend the rest of the pregnancy questioning what you saw? Could you explain to your DH that you think you accidentally saw a gender, and see if he still wants you to keep it a secret from him or tell him what you think so that you can be on the same page?

AFM, I had a midwife appointment yesterday and heard the heartbeat again so I'm no longer worried about that kick from my son. My anatomy scan is coming up on the 5th. Hope I can keep my eyes averted!

Cute baby Shann!!! I hope that want you saw was indeed the cord but I'm glad that you can make peace with it being another boy.

Erin I'm glad everything is ok with the LO.

AFM I just have 4 more days until we all find out what this LO is. Everyone is saying girl but my mind won't let me go there. It's supposed to rain Saturday and we are doing the reveal part outside because we have confetti cannons but rain or shine the party will continue!

ahorn, looking forward to your reveal!

AFM, I managed to get some sort of injury on my ankle. I didn't fall or do anything crazy, but wearing my flats while pregnant caused it, it seems. So now, it isn't going away and I suppose its the relaxin not letting it heal.

Anyone have an increase in thirst? I can't seem to get enough to drink these days, especially after a meal. It was the same with DD during the 3rd trimester.

Hi Lynn,
This seems to be a really lucky due date group overall, but keep in mind that statistics don't mean much unless you have hundreds (or thousands) of people in the sample.
The most successful tactics for pink seem to be 12+weeks on the LE diet, single attempt in the fertile window, cardio for 60 minutes 5+ times per week, and many people also add regular coffee and alcohol. You can find more information in the links on Atomic's signature. If you have a question, you'll get better responses from the TTC a girl forum, Atomic doesn't check all the individual due date forums. You can also see what people have done in the "add your sway" section under TTC girl.

I'm feeling some disappointment. We're finally telling extended family who immediately turn around and say "I hope it's a girl this time" before I can tell them that no, it's another little boy. I'm actually very excited to meet *this* little person, I'm just not sure I have another pregnancy in me and I'm sad about not having a girl. All my close friends have either just girls or a mix, and that's not helping either.

I'm sorry you are feeling a little down about boy #3 but I'm sure this baby was meant to be a part of your family. ((HUGE HUGS)). I really do think there is something special about 3 boys. If this one is boy #3 for me I'm getting a tshirt made that says "Boy Mom and proud of it" or something along those lines.

Fox- My heart goes out to you [emoji20]. Those comments are the hardest. It caused me to become overly protective of them. Even now when people say, "Oh you must have your hands full", I say, "No I don't actually. My boys are incredibly easy- we are fortunate". We are! They are! They are KIDS!! All kids/people have their moments but by and large my boys follow expectations, act well in public, and are protective of one another. Nothing riles me more than negative boy comments [emoji35]! I remember when a family member gave me condolences when I was pregnant with my DS3. I responded, "Since when did welcoming a brand new person into the world become such a disappointment?!?" Ugh! I'm sorry you have to go through this!

Fox - I understand all too well how you are feeling. I know I don't have another pregnancy in me (I am 41) and we just really can't do another child. I am coming to terms with another boy. Most make those stupid comments. I really do hate them. I head off the "hoping for a girl this time" with "It is most likely a boy and we are happy with that". My Mom has been real supportive and actually said she could not see a girl fitting in with our rough and tumble boy patch and that she welcomes another little man! It helped. I just wish this pregnancy was not so different from my others. It got my hopes up.

Shann, add minerals to your water. Are you drinking spring or reverse osmosis? I have found that when people are very thirsty, it is due to their water not containing enough minerals to actually hydrate. An easy way to add them is to get this: https://ca.iherb.com/pr/Ultima-Health-Products-Ultima-Replenisher-Electrolyte-Powder-Raspberry-10-2-oz-288-g/71017 . It's called ultima and its an electrolyte drink.

You can also add your own minerals, but you may run into taste issues :) I add magnesium, multi minerals and himalayan salt to my water.

Thank you everyone for your kind words.
We delivered our baby girl yesterday (June 29th). They suspect it had something to do with her umbilical cord as it was very small at the base of it. She prob wasn't getting enough nutrients.
It was the hardest thing we have ever had to do. I just want to wake up from this nightmare now.
We have decided to do ivf with gender selection when my cycles return. I cannot relive this whole experience again and yet all I want is to.. if that makes any sense.?

Good luck you guys with all your precious babies.

Me too! I've felt pressure around 20 weeks and have been getting painful Braxton Hicks off and on since 25 weeks. I'm 27 weeks today. I'm thinking I'll likely go early- somewhere between 37-39 weeks. My uterus has been measuring 2 weeks ahead since my last appointment at 24 weeks, despite not gaining any weight. Up until then I have been measuring right on target. The same thing happened with my DS3, and he came 12 days early. He also dropped about a week before he came. We will see!

Well ladies, it hit me a little harder than I thought it would and I had a bit of a meltdown when all my guests left. It was like a light bulb went off and was like "I will never have a daughter" and it just hit me like a ton of bricks. I'm ok now but DH saw that I was upset and said that we can try again but I just feel that I don't I want to take that chance again because my GD could be worse. Don't get me wrong there's absolutely nothing wrong with boys (and I love my boys to the moon and back) but I just want the experience of raising both genders. So I bought up ivf and he said he's on board and that made me feel a lot better just knowing there's a possibility for a little girl. Not to mention we could guarantee that she wouldn't have sickle cell so he was definitely on board for that.

Thanks Shann and XX!!! Your encouraging words do make me feel better I know you guys have some experience with this. I'm trying to come up with a name for him but it has to start with an "A". So far I have come up Asher, Aiden, or Avery but Ace is my wildcard name (I'm open to suggestions). I already have an Ashton and an Austin so Asher may not be the best choice. I also bought him a few outfits yesterday and I've been looking up somethings on Pinterest to jazz up his wardrobe. I'm actually getting kind of excited looking at the baby clothes. I bought some yarn yesterday so I can crochet him a blanket since he will be born during the winter months. I have to embrace one way or another and fell as though preparing for him and making items for him will help me a lot.

Ahorn i didnt find out gender with my 3rd son. I just remember giving birth to him and them saying boy and i refused to even look at him, dont know if it was the g&a sending me loopy or not i just kept apologising to my hubby for it not being a girl. But the minute i looked i fell madly in love with him. He had the softest skin ive ever felt on a baby and i had such a lovely time alone in hospital with him. Hes a crazy 8 year old now and i adore him. We did go on to have a girl next x

Same with my sister who has 4 boys. Her third is her little angel. They are all very sweet kids, but he is so tender hearted and sweet!

Ahorn, I like Alder too.
:)
I have 4 boys... and I agree that my #3 is a treasure. They are all unique (of course) but he's an extra bit of unique and special. We joke that he is our wild card and we have only seen 1/100 of who he even really is. He is a deep well. :)

All you ladies are so strong having all the same gender. I'm terrified to have two girls. /: I can't imagine hearing it 4 or 5 times! You all are super moms! I can imagine it has its incredibly fun special moments ❤️ I know if I have a girl I'll be bummed but the two girls together will be so sweet and get along so well. My oldest will be a great sister to another little girl :)

I do like Aaron but one of my close friend's named her son Aaron so you know how that goes lol. I think I have decided on Aidan/ Aiden. My brother was talking to me and said "He is going to be the ring leader" and I said "Who Aidan?" So I guess that's his name lol.

I do see what you mean BUT remember ultrasounds are not brilliant as we only see 'shadows' and what the machine interprets. It could be a bit swollen girl bits, or a bit of cord...

Another ultrasound will be fine for you and bubs and if it puts your mind at ease, it is worth it :) she is a girl xxx

good morning everyone :)

so I've been dealing with a cold an lingering cough all week and just as I was finally feeling better, I got into a minor biking accident yesterday. I don't bike daily or for sport, we were just on our way home from spending the day at the bike shop making minor adjustments to all of our bikes. Anyway, long story short, I fell face forward, but I managed to move in such a way where my upper body took most of the impact. I was petrified, crying and panicked that I hurt the baby so 'I called the midwife within 5 minutes of falling all shaken up and disoriented.

She gave me signs to look for and offered to set me up an ultrasound appointment. During the call, my shoulder pain got so intense that I couldn't form proper thoughts or speak much so I somehow managed to decline the ultrasound (I have an appt tomorrow with her). I was told to look for spotting, cramping, dizziness, nausea and vomiting and so far I'm fine. Baby was kicking about while I ate a very late dinner. I'm still concerned though, but remaining hopeful. I had DH put his head on my belly to listen in and talk to it, and he got kicked in the face lol, which is normal for this baby to do he/she doesn't like anyone in their personal space.

Anyway, it was very scary. i never lose control of my bike like that, but I went over some new train tracks which made my bike bounce(and I was turning). It was weird and so sudden! I have painful scabbing on my poor elbow and I'm lucky I didn't scrape my face. So glad I had a split second to think of how to fall. If I could, I would have fallen backwards. Baby is bouncing around as I type, reassuring mama.

That's my drama for the month lol, I hope!

ahorn, you look so lovely and the gender reveal looks like fun! So glad your DH is supportive and helping you through.

fiveboys, I have not much experience with ultrasounds, but I'd trust the bloodtest! *hugs*

So sorry Cosmo! If you feel baby moving normally and there's no bleeding, I'm sure it'll be ok. Sounds very scary, though. How is your shoulder now?

I had my anatomy u/s today! Baby looks healthy but my placenta is low so I have to go back to see if it moves up. I didn't look when they checked the sex, but the facial profile looks SOOOOO much like my other two sons (who look like their dad), that I'm pretty sure this is boy #3 for us!

My DS4 is Alexander and we call him Alex! I love your names. We have yet to even start thinking of boy names! Not sure why we are not able to even start this time. I guess because we are truly out of boy names we like and need to find some new ones. We have even looked at the credits of movies to see if there are any names that stand out to us in the past. It is crazy what we go through.

Cosmos - -that is so scary to have a fall. Glad baby is moving around normal. Praying all is good at your appt tomorrow!

Erin - what a cute baby! I am no help because I was thinking rounder head was a girl, and more squared was a boy, but I have seen so much go either way. Glad baby is doing good!

AFM - I am having some rough days thinking about boy #5. Not that it is boy #5, but that I will never get my girl. But yesterday was such a crazy day with the boys being excited about the fireworks all day. But it was so cute seeing DS2 and DS4 napping in the same bed in the afternoon. (I made them all lay down since it would be a late night). Then, when I was downstairs putting together our new grill, DS3 and DS4 got into our gated laundry room and tossed 5 lbs of baking soda all around and on each other. It was a HUGE mess to clean that thankfully my MIL did the most, but it was also funny to see them together and DS3 was laughing so much. Oh my, BOYS! It helps to see them play together even if it is getting in trouble.
So here I am bouncing back and forth about this new baby and gender issues. I pray that once this baby is born, I will get over my GD and am able to live my life complete with my family!

Shann I hear you ... when I found out I'm expecting ds4 initially I was ok, but as time goes on I'm finding it hard to cope and my anxiety levels are increasing as i get bigger. Just want the baby out now and I'm not enjoying the pregnancy one bit. I don't want to talk to anyone about the baby or when I'm due or how I'm feeling, I just wish I wasn't pregnant. I feel so bad for the little baby who doesn't deserve this and I wish I could get excited but it's just not in me ... wish I never started this stupid journey and I could go back to having 3 boys and get on with my life!!!!!

I'm expecting DS3 but after my bout of GD I'm excited now. I can't wait to hold him! I just can't stand the comments I'm getting like tell DH to put in some work and you'll get your girl. How crazy is that?! People seem to be under the impression that if the women takes charge in the bedroom that a boy will be conceived and if the man does then a girl will be conceived. I don't put any stock in that because I feel like with me and DH it's a joint effort lol!!

Does anyone know can I take anything for anxiety? It starts from the min I wake up until I go to bed, on and off all day! I think I really need some help, these feelings aren't normal. Or does anyone know of any herbal/essential oils I can take to calm an ovrthinking mind.

My sil just had a beautiful little girl and my friend is due her 2nd girl next week, I can't cope with all of this and the pink everywhere in my sils house! The only time I feel ok or normal is when I visualise this pregnancy ending or something bad happening. I know this isn't normal and feel desperate at the moment.

Yes, there are some meds that are safe for you to take while pg! PLEASE go and talk to your Dr!!!! I hope that you start to feel better real soon and you start to enjoy your pregnancy. I know for me, part of the not enjoying it, is the heat. We are in the 100s and it is making me so sick I can't eat. It is very draining. The move is also taking quite a toll on my body. ((HUGS))
I also understand the feelings and the heartache. My SIL is having a girl (her 2nd) in Sept and it just rubs me wrong how she got her pp without even trying. I have even visualized something happening and I know how upset I would be. So I know I love this little one no matter what. I am praying that with meds and maybe even some counseling, you can feel better and know this little one is meant to be part of your family.
When I lost the girls last pg, I was a total mess. The fact that I was still pg with boy #4 and lost our girls was devastating. I did not even want to be pg anymore. I had a really rough time for quite a few months. I can tell you now, as he is almost 2, he is am absolute joy and is perfect for our family! I know lots of people here comment the same, but he truely is a special soul.
I know that this boy #4 will be a blessing for you and your family. You just don't know how until you meet him. HUGS

Any recommendations on how/when to take iron pills?

I passed my GD test but failed hemoglobin. So I'm on a slow release iron pill again like my last pregnancy /: but I HATED taking them and they made me so sick. I also can't take prenatal gummies anymore. I have to take the pills cuz I guess they have more in them??

I hate taking both. But I don't wanna be anemic

Hi all! I had to take a break for awhile as my GD has been quite bad. Im 21weeks now & still havent told anyone about the pregnancy yet other than hubby & our parents. Thankfully it has been a cold winter & it has been easy to hide so far. I did tell my best friend that we were expecting another DS & even she didnt believe me! She was in absolute shock that I got 3/3 boys. I dread telling anyone because of the constant comments that this will be a girl & do I want a girl. Both my mother & MIL are both adament that it is a girl & it is just so hurtful. I cant enjoy this pregnancy at all &I feel so ripped off that it is another DS. I keep focussing on our loss last year & that it was probably my DD. All I keep doing now is researching HT & focusing on another pregnancy & hubby wont listen. He isnt being supportive at all & just laughed when I told him it was another DS. I was so angry at him. He said we could always get a female dog & I slammed the door in his face. He just doesnt get it. He wants to tell everyone that I am pregnant & I just cant. We havent even told our boys yet. I have always loved being pregnant & I want this baby more than anything after our miscarriage last year but I am really struggling. I love both of my DS & I am sure I will love this baby too but I just cant get past needing a DD in my life. I am seeing a counsellor but I dont feel like I can talk about the GD as it is such a taboo topic. She knows that I am struggling mentally with thie pregnancy & even my OB dismissed me when I said I was struggling. What do I do? It was hard enough saying that I was mentally struggling without being completely dismissed. I dont think I am depressed but I am just so stuck.

KC, I know I'm not a part of this DDG but I saw your post about struggling with GD and felt the need to comment. I found out I was having DS3 last year after a long pink sway and losses. I felt much like you described and struggled with it A LOT. I even felt depressed at times. If you ever need someone to talk to, feel free to PM me. :) Hang in there. Hopefully counselling will help.

kc - HUGS. I know the struggle all too well. I know the subject is so very taboo, but you NEED to open up to your counselor about the GD. It will help to just get it out! It really will and that is what they are there for. After DH and I talked about my struggles and feelings about it all, it really helped. I am just so heartbroken to hear that you are struggling so bad. I just wish we could all be in a room together to get out a good cry and to hug each other! Thank you for coming on here and telling us how you feel.
You are not alone at all. And I have often thought about the babies we have lost and figured they were our girls. I even am pretty sure that the early stages of this pregnancy, when I had all the bleeding and cramping, I was miscarrying a twin for this one. And I often think that it was our girl. I know I shouldn't because it is just torturing myself, but I do. So I am just going to say that every thought you have had - I would guarantee that someone else on this site has thought and maybe even voiced the same things. HUGS

Well ladies, this pregnancy just continues to be a challenge...apparently I have been spilling protein in my urine since my 18 week appointment and then again at my 22 week appointment. She ordered a 24 hr urine collection for a baseline which I completed on Wednesday. My urine protein results are <164mg and normal is considered <150mg so I'm a bit above normal. My blood pressure is LOW! 98/64 to 113/64. Does anyone have any experience with pre-eclampsia? I've read where some ladies BPs start low and then spike. I've never had BP issues in my life nor in my past 2 pregnancies. I always run low. Thanks for any input ladies.

It's often a sign you are way too low with protein, if you're spilling it in your urine. I would pay attention to that. Not getting enough in early to mid pregnancy sets you up for preeclampsia issues at the end.

Well I know that's not the problem...I eat about 120g of protein every day. Could I be eating too much? This was my normal pre-pregnancy and I haven't changed my diet.

if you are spilling it, then its too much. 120g is quite a bit and alot of protein taxes the kidneys. i would cut back on the protein, added oils and fats and up your starches. how is your sodium intake? try doing a 3 day food log to see whats going on with diet.

Thanks ladies. I'm kind of a fitness/dietary person. I help people lose weight for a living. It's hard for me, mentally, to eat too many carbs and starches but I guess that's what I'm going to have to try. I haven't used my fitness pal in a while and actually logged my food but I may do that too. I eat mostly fresh foods. Very little is processed and I don't add extra salt to anything so I think my sodium intake should be okay but I'll check it out.
My creatinine was ok at 1.43...I guess my kidneys are compensating for the time being.
Thanks for your input!

well, starches have gotten a bad rep, but there's tons of people who have lost lots of weight and corrected autoimmune disease by ditching excess protein and fats and replacing them with starches. from a fitness and weight perspective, my most successful clients have been those on high starch diets, my low carbers had very little success compared to my high carbers. food for thought, no pun intended haha.

I have managed to keep this pregnancy under control by doing just that. It started with food aversion and then I took it on as an experiment. No weight gain and I'm in the same clothing (minus a few shirts as most of my shirts were on the short side) at 6 months of pregnancy. No protein in urine, no GD, no BP issues. Pretty neat :) Hope it all clears up for you Roe! <3

Have you ever checked out Blue Ribbon Baby diet?

I would be making some modifications if I could - perhaps it's the type of protein? Something is flagging your body to say "help".

Sorry I'm not better help.

Roedinga- I'm sorry they put you through that, but there is no huge cause for alarm with <164mg. Levels of <300mg or greater indicate pre-eclampsia. I think by modifying your diet, you should be fine. Eating a kidney friendly diet is what I would do. My BF had to do that in her pregnancy and it helped! She also had a really enlarged kidney too. I'll ask her about the diet she ate, but she limited protein to 60-80g, fat to 60-70g, and the rest from complex carbs and vegetables. Dairy products were limited too. That's about all I remember. Postpartum, here Creatine levels slowly returned to normal as did her kidneys.

Hang in there sweetie!! Keep us posted!!

I can't believe I'm 28 weeks! At times, I feel like this pregnancy is flying by! I only have one more 4 week visit and then onto 2 week visits!

Cue the Braxton Hicks! I've been getting them since 20 weeks, but I'm now getting some that feel like I'm about to start AF. They are sporadic and don't last long. She has to stay in until 38 weeks 🤞🏻!!

How is everyone else doing/feeling? Thinking of you Roedinga!

This started for me 2 days ago. I'm getting crampy like AF is coming and I feel alot of pressure when this happens. Never had this with DD so it worries me of course.

I'm worried my shoulder won't heal in time for baby's arrival and it will be a huge issue. I've noticed improvement just in one week, but my range of motion is seriously limited. I am getting another shoulder brace specific for a rotator cuff injury and I'm hoping that helps healing.

This baby really kicks HARD. Not complaining, glad he/she is healthy and bouncing in there, but sheesh lol.

I hope a new brace does the trick for you, Cosmosis! Hehe, my boys kicked much harder than my DD! I'm hoping this means you have a boy in there 🤞🏻[emoji170]!

Hello everyone, it's been quite a while since I posted.
Robin, I just want to express my deepest condolences on what must be the most devastating time for you and your husband. I'm so sorry you've gone through something so awful and I hope you are doing ok. That's great that you and your hubby are on the same page regarding IVF. I hope all works out for you both in the very near future :)

I am almost 32 weeks now. This has been a really uncomfortable pregnancy, my back is constantly sore plus I now have sciatica pain. I'm also constantly tired... I guess running after two boys makes it hard to rest. Because of my last c section being complicated and an extra uterine incision being made, I'll need to have this c section no later than 38 weeks which means I have 6 weeks to go (max). Really hoping it flies by. Like lots of you, I have been getting strong braxton hicks for a long time now. I feel so much pressure and also feel like AF is coming!
XX - I also am finding this baby girl to be not as active as the boys. The boys kicked so hard and all the time and this one just wriggles around and does the occasional little kick! Interesting hey?
I hope everyone is doing well! Looks like I'll be the first one to have the baby as I think I'm the furthest along?

This pregnancy is dragging for me! lol! I can't get my gd under control which makes me afraid to eat anything, insulin is increased weekly but doesnt seem to be making a big difference. Its definitely made me hate pregnancy so much that I've decided Im done after this baby lol i just cant do it again.

I'm on my 7th sticky pregnancy (6th baby of ours) and I get so many Braxton hicks in later pregnancy that I really just ignore them anymore. They hurt, can be frequent... but unless they make me have to stop what I'm doing to close my eyes and breathe through them, they're just a lot of heavy duty practice. If I went by "if so many, go in" I'd be in a lot. Taking magnesium at night has helped keep them reasonable in my experience.

I'm in the "take forever" part of pregnancy... only 21w... but I definitely feel pregnant, I just haven't started to hurt yet (thank goodness!). We have a TON to do before the baby comes.

This week Jade Beall (professional photographer) is coming to my city to take photos for a group of us and I am SO SO excited! I pick her up at the airport tonight. (She did The Beautiful Body Project, etc).

I'm 28 weeks too XX! :) officially third trimester.

I'm blown away with how fast this pregnancy has gone. It helps being pregnant over the summer we are SOOOO busy.

Over all I have felt really great. This pregnancy is a cake walk next to my daughter. So I can't complain much at all.

Lastly- I'm so excited we decided to take a mini vacation before baby arrives :) so when I'm about 33 weeks we're going to Daytona beach, Florida for just 3 days! Frontier had a sale so we got our tickets ROUND TRIP $70 a piece! No joke! :) anyways- it'll be super fun!

I was in your position on my last baby...its not nice..have they mentioned inducing you early? I was 38 weeks but put on a sliding scale through labour which wasnt the best as i wanted a water birth so bad.. good thing i found though was once i was on insulin i didnt put on any weight from 30 weeks x

Hi all. This summer is flying by and I can't believe we have some in the 3rd tri already and a baby due to arrive in less than 6 weeks!!! So exciting. This pregnancy sure is flying by for me as well. We still have yet to even start talking about boy names. And we really need to get on that!

The past 2 days have been horrible. I just feel off. Super sluggish and light headed. I think I am going to call my midwife and see what she says. I am also itching in my hands tons. Not sure what that is about.

Shannshaff, please ask about Intrahepatic Cholestasis of Pregnancy. Itching could be nothing and it could be ICP, you should really get tested now and retested if it's negative now and keeps itching. Any patterns to the itching, like times of day it's worse?

This pregnancy is dragging for me too. I'm only 22 weeks and I feel like I have been pregnant for a year now. My blood sugar isn't playing nice, I think I'm headed for insulin this time. But other than thirsty and a bit fuzzy headed when it's high, I feel great! Definitely easiest pregnancy yet so far, so I'm thankful to this little man for that.

And if the itching doesn't stop, please don't accept "I've never heard of that" or incorrect testing (you'll need to check bile acids, not just liver panel or anything to do with the gallbladder). There's a good chance it's absolutely nothing, but ICP can be dangerous to the baby if it goes untreated.

they induced me last time at 38 weeks also because of gd but its a nightmare! it takes them 3 days to get me started I cant agree to that this time, its too hard being away from the kids and trying to get babysitters when i think something is going to happen. So unless they give me the gel closer together (last time it was once every 24 hours) im going to refuse it.

I'm actually thinking this baby will be smaller than my last one. My daughter always measured a week or two again and came out 7lbs 11oz.

This baby has been right on gestation down to the day if not a little behind. I would totally be okay with a 6lb baby! Of course healthy 6 lbs but you know what I mean
