I turned 38 the week before my ER at HRC in May last year. From that I had 2 healthy xx embryos. My first planned FET failed (I think from an immunological reaction) but my second FET in November was successful and I'm currently 32 weeks pregnant with my longed for DD.

So it is possible to be successful from just the one cycle despite our age but I think that pretesting results are key. I was told throughout the process that I had the stats of a much younger woman.

Thank you! Yes I certainly can't wait to meet her especially now that I'm so large and uncomfortable!!!

Those 2 xxs were from 33 retrieved eggs of which 25 fertilised.

My pretesting results were as follows (although I confess they still don't mean a lot to me):

Pretesting AFC: 23 (10 left, 13 right)
Pretesting FSH: 5.8 IU/L (day 5)
Pretesting AMH: 18.9 pmol/L

You never know how your pretesting will be until you have the results in your hands so try not to worry. As others have said in your other thread there are ways of boosting egg quality too. Although its a numbers game in terms of having enough embryos to have your desired gender in the mix, there are plenty of ladies who cycled around the same time as me who had far less eggs retrieved but as many or more healthy female embryos.
