Hi All! i'm new here, in the tww now. DH and I are trying for baby #2! we already have a beautiful boy, and i love being a boy mom, but i would love having a daughter too! I just learned about swaying, though im not new to temping and charting. seeing as we're in the midst of trying, is it too late to sway? i'm reading that i should have started this before starting ttc! any advice appreciated. Thank you!

Hi! If you're in the TWW now, I would say it's probably too late! Is your diet and exercise style seem more boy or girl friendly? Did you BD only once during ovulation? I'm hoping the best for you! Maybe you could start a light sway now then if you don't get preggo this cycle, you'll be better for the next??

I've read as far as the diet goes it's best to be on it for 6-12 weeks. But you could always start your next cycle if you ended up not conceiving. Good luck!

BD just once on possible day of O.(based on past cycles temping/ovulating on cd 18 typically & CM/Cervix position/texture) my BBT dissapeared so I had to order a new one, and it only arrived yesterday. I also had a few days of EWCM earlier in the month so I may have completely missed the window this month. I injured my foot so I wasn't able to workout, and my diet has been probably more boy friendly (wild game, carbs, pasta, dairy, salads, some fruit). That and the fact that I already have a DS makes me think i'd be more blue friendly :(

Any suggestions for "light sway" tactics? I've heard anti-depressants can sway pink? if that's true then that would be an advantage! I'm still reading through everything here, there's so much good info it can be overwhelming, but i LOVE research so this is right up my alley!

Light sway would be vegetarian I think!
And for me personally a major part of my sway is no snacking
I used to graze all day
But now I have 3 set meals a day with absolutely no snacks in between and wow it's hard and so different!
So maybe you could try and just change your eating habits, and cut out meat. If you only want a light sway that is!
Also atomic recommends 12 weeks on the diet I believe for best results!
I'm going to start trying after 8 weeks as I don't know how long I can live on this diet haha x

AH! no snacking!? how will i survive! lol I would love a stronger sway, but i think timing of things only allows a light sway anyway. I am on antihistamines, as is my husband, going vegetarian would be SO hard for me but i think I'm willing to give it a shot. ultimately I wanted two boys and one girl so if this next child is a boy, we know i'll be back for a strict sway next round ;)

That's a really positive attitude to have!
There's always next time to have a really strict sway!!
I can't exercise due to back problems so I'm doing a really strict diet, coffee and alcohol for my sway!! Praying it's enough!!!!
Good luck!! X

That's so exciting! I have two boys and it is so great, they're still little but already their relationship together is beyond amazing to watch. I definitely wouldn't do anything too crazy until you know if you're pregnant or not. Will you keep us updated?! And lovellcute is so right, no snacking is crazy hard! I didn't even realize how much I did it until I stopped!

of course i'll keep everyone updated! my hardest change will be quitting my shakeology every morning! basically i'm sticking to my current diet, slowly getting back on the elliptical as my foot allows, and using this time to research everything! i'm 95% sure im not pregnant, so i'm preparing to sway as soon as AF shows up! maybe adding in vitex, and switching my allergy meds to zyrtec. at the latest i'd love to be pregnant before sept 1st. so next cycle i can be more strict and still be okay!

No, it's never too late! The important thing for a last minute sway is having one attempt. For reasons we do not understand, one attempt has been very pink friendly and it sounds like you did exactly that!!
Time on diet is great, but if you guys are wanting to actively start TTC (or continue, LOL) then what we can do is have you start diet now and then just see what happens!

That doesn't sound particularly blue friendly, do you have a ballpark figure on the overall nutrients you eat?
Remember, most people who TTC have a boy and a girl or a girl and a boy right from the start. Having just one boy does NOT mean you are more boy friendly - some of us on here have gotten all boys for 20+ years (ME!!! LOL) and we still get girls eventually. Don't start off assuming you are set for blue, you may not be.
RE anti-depressants, yes, we believe they sway pink!

All allergy meds seem to sway pink so if you like what you're on no need to switch.
Re vitex, it hasn't gotten spectacular results and really cuts odds of conception so if you are in a hurry to TTC (for child spacing, etc) you may want to avoid it. It can really mess up your cycle as well.

you are amazing! Nuva ring really screwed up my cycle, i was 30 days, like clockwork o on cd 18. even coming off other forms of BC every time, same stats. coming off of nuva ring in april, gave me a 24 day cycle last month, so that makes me suspect i missed my chance this month. i'm either ~9/10DPO or ~ 6DPO. I had two periods of fertile CM. so confusing.
I have no idea about nutrients, but typically i make poor-er choices. coffee, naturally skip breakfast, white bread, white pastas, lots of dairy, (alfredo, spaghetti, anything pasta+cream sauce. i like my carbs) I love chicken & mixed greens with bacon, almonds, tomatoes, cheese and honey mustard (i would eat this every day if I could!!) I'm big on chocolate and sweets. i was drinking shakeology, which has a ton of vitamins/nutrients in a shake, every day for breakfast for the past week or so, trying to be healthier and do something for breakfast to help with weightloss before i found this site! We hunt & fish so I eat a lot of wild game, ie. deer, elk, antelope, trout from time to time, and salmon. my most preferred meat is chicken though.
My husband is 100% convinced he can only make boys. in his lineage, the last girl born to a man from his last name's line was back in like 1928. historically, every *last name* man has had two children, both boys. my goal in life is to break that trend! haha
goals going forward- diet,no breakfast, allergy meds, staying on antidepressants, upping the time on the elliptical, and one attempt. anything else I could do to sway in the short term aspects? this has been amazingly helpful so far! definitely paying for a plan if AF shows up!

My helpful hint is to have mostly what your family has for dinner but just skip the meat. This really worked well for me. The salad, even with the chicken is good too. You might want to eat just chicken the day you have that (or even make it a regular thing like every day for lunch.) I'd ditch the Shakeology though due to the nutrients. Overall you're not eating terribly and I think some minor, mostly painless changes with serving size and cutting back on meat will help.
We get SOOO many men on here who are sure they can only make boys and have a story about how it's been since 14 BC since any girls were conceived in their family! But everyone can make boys and girls. Men are made up of XY cells that split to become half X and half Y sperm. :)

Oh and forgot to mention coming off the Nuva and also having goofy cycles may indicate you're more pink friendly anyway. Good luck and let me know if I can help.

UPDATE! I'm not pregnant. Temp drop and the first hints of blood in CM this morning, AF is most certainly on her way. Time to sway :pinksperm::babyf: Here's my plan! Open to suggestions or anything you think may help me in my quest to prove my husband wrong!
I'm trying to better plan my meals now. Ive been trying to skip breakfast and avoid red meats up the amt of veggies. 3 meals a day, 2000 cal max. (im at 31 bmi, have lots of weight to lose 6'tall and curvy) no red meat, chicken only at lunch,if then. I LOVE sweets, so only allowing chocolate at meal times. more water, possibly adding in a fiber husk capsule in the mornings as I wake up hungry often. I'm going to temp and do OPKs and for this next month, only one attempt at first positive OPK. I'm on wellbutrin xl & loratadine no other supps at the moment. Walking either outside or inside on elliptical 60 mins a day at least 3 days a week. I'm so torn on buying a personal plan or not. I have approx 20 days until O and I know that isnt much time to prepare. I wish I found this website 6 months ago!
Should I add in KY to our one attempt? do e4d+ky? or just leave it as I have planned?
TIA
