no im meaning the cramps ash horrendous arent they!! ive never had a c-section sorry if it read like thats what i ment :) defo look into the wraps i was crippled with after pains with #5 no wrap then with #6 i wore a wrap and virtually no cramps!! so so worth it imo!!
the emotions are a real rollercoaster arent they cant imagine what its like for our dh's! my brain seems to have completely fallen out this time too its actually embarrassing! i ordered a take away for us the other week and then the food didnt arrive for ages and we were like where is it?? turns out id ordered it for the next day.. :-/ xx

I love everybody's name suggestions. We have a boy name ready from being Team Green with DD, Alec Scott. Alec because it's a traditional Scottish Celtic name and my husband's family ancestry is from Scotland. Plus DH's grandfather is Allan and DH's great a grandfather is Alexander, so a bit of a homage to them. Scott because the tradition in his side is the son take's the father's first name as a middle name.
If this one is a girl....we have nothing. I was like 8cm dilated before we agreed/chose a girl name the first time. Keeley because it's a traditional Scottish Celtic name. (Seeing the massive family tradition!)
So if I don't have a son his Scottish heritage finishes with my husband - his family have so much pressure on us!

I love Alec as a name dancing!! Makes it all the more special when it has meaning behind it! I've always had a girl name picked since I read a trilogy back in my early teens. It's a strong female character who overcomes hardship, abuse and tragedy to become a ruler in her own right and sees her son become overall ruler. Her name was Mara Anni in the books but I've always liked Mara Rose (Rose is a short version of my name and my mums middle name) or Mara Mairead (which is the gaelic version of my mothers and my husbands nans name) I like the second one best I think :) I've always thought it would be an awesome story to tell her when she's old enough how her name came about and have her read the books herself (which I've held onto all these years being a favourite) Needless to say I had two boys so didn't get to use it 😂😂

I think I mentioned this over in the 2WW group, but DH's brother & wife are expecting their first baby any day now & stealing our name ugh & we have the same last name!!!! We still plan on stealing it back though ;) We may need some ideas on boy names though! It will be another "S" name and right now we're agreeing on Samson (Sam).

Yes, Kat! We even had 2 boys names we love that we don't get to use! I could not imagine ever having a girl, even though my DH has always wanted one! I'm not the girlie type- never have been. My DH is always telling me how good I am with them. When we found out we were having a girl this time, part of me mourned not having another baby boy. I was surprised I felt that way. I'm obviously excited now, and I'm looking forward to experiencing a healthy relationship with her (at least on my end- you never know how your children will end up despite how you raise them)!

Hang in there! I can't wait until you find out!

Kat-I really hope you get your boy! FX sooo hard we don't get opposites, but sounds like you would handle it much better than I would! DH asked me what I'll do if we have another boy. I said I'd go sit in a dark corner & cry...and need counseling ;) I know how awful that sounds, but I have always dreamed of having a little girl. If not, I will have the whole pregnancy to hopefully come to terms with it, but I would be so sad since it's the last chance. My boys are wonderful & I'm thankful everyday for these beautiful, healthy boys! They are also rambunctious, wild, active, loud, jump all over & break everything ;) As soon as I finish cleaning up the party supplies that they've scattered everywhere, then they've dumped their goldfish crackers and stomped all over them. NT scan is the extra genetic testing, right? If so, it's July 31st. If bloodwork to determine gender is offered, which I'm 35 so it might be, I'll get it. If not, next scan will be 20 weeks, which is last week of September for me. My DR is strict about scan being done at 20 weeks versus 16/18 like some DRs and no won't pay for an early scan - too cheap [emoji12]

I'm wayyyy to impatient to wait. The nt is nuchal translucency scan that can tell downs and maybe a couple other things it's done between 11-13 weeks I think but it's not the nipt genetic testing you can get if your over 35 that offers gender I think done after 10 weeks [emoji4] can't wait to hear if you'll find out gender with it!

Just got out and waiting for disc! Bub is looking perfect 😍 and I seen the nub soooooooo many times 😂😂 so I'll go thru the disc when I get home and put some shots up for u/s guesses if I see any! Measuring ahead 12w4d 😀 and nub was mostly long and flat but some shots were forked and a couple looked angled 😂😂 so still not sure lol got a tummy ache from the scanner thing because bub kept flipping away and giving us his/her back so she was digging it in all over 😂

I'm meeting with the specialist that does an ultrasound and bloodwork to check for things like downs. We've always done it bc it's covered by insurance and we'd rather know than not. It must be what you are talking about bc it's done between 11-13 weeks. I'm going at 12+2 days [emoji3] Last time, they told me 80% sure girl just based off the ultrasound so if I get a nice tech again I may get to find out regardless of bloodwork.

So-DH, the boys & I were in a restaurant today when a grandma & her 2 granddaughters sat next to us. She called out to one of them "Sophia, have a seat." DH & I turned & gave each other a look. Then I could hear her say to her granddaughters "Do you want to see a cute picture of Sawyer?" This is apparently her grandson's name and also our DS2's name. So DH & I gave each other another look. Then she heard us call our Sawyer's name & started a convo with us about her new grandson Sawyer. She didn't know we're expecting & started talking about how she had 3 sons and she was hoping for a girl the 3rd time, but as soon as she saw her 3rd son, she didn't care anymore. She said she was so happy she had granddaughters since she had sons. I had to tell her that we were expecting & also hoping for a girl. I guess that there's always hope for granddaughters lol [emoji849] Later, I asked DH....so was it a sign that there was a Sophia & Sawyer or was it a sign that she had 3 sons, hoping for a girl??

4blue2pink-so I don't think it was intentional for them to steal our name, but not certain. She is newer to the family & may not have known, but everyone else knew each time we had a boy, that Sophia was our girl name. We were team green for DS2 and I believe that's when they started dating. Everyone knew that we were either having a Sawyer or Sophia. Surely DH's brother remembered this even if his wife didn't? Maybe they figured it didn't matter since we have boys, but it's the ONE name I've loved before it became popular! When DH proposed to me, he said "one day, we'll have lots of Sophia's" and I've been waiting on my Sophia ever since. For years we've always referred to her "you know when we have our Sophia, we'll have to get another car." Things like that. I hate that we're the ones that will look like the "bad guys" stealing "their" name, but in all reality, they stole "our" name & I could be furious. I'm not a malicious person at all & def non-confrontational, but we will just take back what we consider ours & if anyone doesnt like it, so be it [emoji12] They live 10 hours away & we see them maybe once a year. No one in our local circle has the name, so it would really just be DH's family that may have a problem with it. They obviously don't know how much I care about names-most of them didn't come up with names until their babies were born. DH is really adamant about our name too & told his mom a while back that we still planned on using it. She said "you know there are some other very nice names" lol. i totally get it Lolabelle, that would really annoy me and given that you have told your family about the name it does seem very unfair on you and your dh :( but if they live 10 hours away at least you arent all in the same area and you can just get on without drama.

Hello everyone,
First I will tell you that I already have 4 boys and 1 girl (from a successful sway in 2014). We thought we were done having kids but found out in May that we are expecting another, due January 23, 2018. I wonder what your thoughts are on my chances of this being a girl? I didn't particularly sway but wasn't eating breakfast, only one meal a day and did the deed 1 time not sure when ovulation was. That month was so busy and stressful we didn't have time really. Anyway, sorry if this is TMI but this was also a pull out whoops baby. Also my hcg was very high at 8 weeks, actually 179,000. But have had ultrasounds only one in there.I have had severe morning sickness and zits galore. Never had these with my son's but did with my daughter. Also had light morning sickness with my sons and severe sickness with my daughter. I am really hoping to give my daughter a sister, but would love a boy as well. Just want a healthy baby. I heard high hcg can mean girl? Anyway, just wondering what your thoughts are on my chances of this being a girl? Thanks and hope everyone has a wonderful 4th!!

Ash- I am not sure about nipt, have never heard of it but I do plan on finding out the gender as soon as possible. We did nub shots with my daughter and found out at 13-14 weeks and also did an ultrasound again at 16weeks which they said girl and then again at 20 weeks. We were in shock so we didn't believe it. Well I did I knew right away when I got pregnant and kept telling my hubby she was a girl but he still didn't believe it until she came out and saw it for himself. This time I feel like it's a girl but I wasn't doing everything that I did to get my daughter so........ I don't know for sure. I was really swaying with her and lots and lots and lots of praying! But as soon as I can find out I will let you know what the gender is with this baby. Also by the way I was extremely emotional with my daughterr so i think that's a good sign for you. I hope you get your girl. ☺

Lola you have to have your Sophia! My sister once told me she had a name picked out for her daughter but someone else on her dh side of the family used it. So she went with a different (and beautiful) name but said if she went back to the time she wouldn't care and would use the name she had picked. And Lola I seen a nub sooooo many time, mostly girly looking but there was a couple that looked angled to. I couldn't not see! It was so bright and there! it was basically poking me in the eye. Because bub was flipping and flopping around though I don't know whether the flat or angled nub is right so I'm still just as clueless lol. I really feel like I'm leaning towards finding out but hope I can be strongly team green again come my appt tomorrow morning....

I hear you about the comments from everyone. It gets very irritating. Don't know if this has happened to anyone else but when you told family that you were having another boy did they say oh gosh another peepee we don't need anymore of those with a sense of disgust in their voice. Even strangers have made such rude comments about the size of our family and how many boys we had. And when we finally had our daughter it became are you going to finally be done now! Ugh! I'm feeling down about my sway! I was just looking over it and it seems like a really good sway but I just don't feel confident. I don't think I would sway again if this one fails. I just think I'd lose heart in swaying.
Everything was different trying with this one (diet/lifestyle/no clomid/fell first attempt versus a while to conceive my DD) but I still feel disappointed for some reason.

Awee dancing i know how you feel. For me too sway was a one time thing. I did feel confident in the beginning but when it failed it hurt a lot and i started dissecting it up to see "what if" and for it was like a complete 360 ... the circumstances i concieved under and my pregnancy overall.
That being said i do feel luck has a huge rule, god still know what is best for us and so hope for the best and dont lose hope yet

Ash they should have! Its the initial testing that's done in Aus so gender, t13 & t18 and t21 from memory and then the addition screenings are sent overseas. Kinda hoping they're not in so I don't have to decide whether to find out tomorrow or not 😂 I thought also of asking for a 'pretty' profile pic (in hopes of a nub shot) as all my scan ones are blurred and wouldn't be any good for an announcement 😂 at least I can honestly say that and not be lying 😂😂

I like bigger families to. I have 4 sisters and 3 brothers. Although I never would have thought I would have more than 3 kids when I was younger but now I couldn't imagine it any other way. And I am so glad it has worked out this way. Kids are such a blessing. My parents have 25 grandkids and 5 great grandkids so far. I also look forward to many grandkids I think that will be fun as well.

Pbn - that's exciting about the results coming back soon. Could find out in 3 and a half weeks time but hubby is team green and doesn't want to know. I feel he doesn't want to look disappointed at the scan and fearful it's not a boy because he contributed to my sway as well and worked so hard himself (didn't touch a drop of alcohol for 5 months), always had tepid/cool showers, always commando for like 5 months. Tried to eat more throughout the day (although sometimes he got too busy with work and would miss meals).
So we're team green again until the end.

Going through everything and at the end you're like "what is it?" craning your neck and then hubby and I both screamed "it's a girl!!!" and then she started crying harder because I think our yelling frightened her hahaha.

So, we've been at a cookout/pool party all day & we did share our news with the ones who didn't know. There's a couple with 2 boys. The husband said there's no chance in the world, it's definitely another boy. The wife said she hoped it was a girl so that I'd pass down my boy clothing sets lol. I would've had that with ds2 if not for the sonographer slipping at my 20w scan. Even though we didn't confirm I just 'knew' from then on and it was no surprise at his birth.

I will list off the things that I did to sway for my daughter in 2014. I wasn't eating any breakfast cereals or breakfast either. I would have a small meal at lunch and one for supper. I had significantly cut calories protein and meat and beans. I lost weight before conceiving. I wasn't taking any vitamins. I was still nursing my son. I chewed aspartame gum. Cut out a lot of processed foods and processed sugars. Not completely but definitely cut back. My husband abstained before we did the deed 2 days before ovulation and only 1 attempt. Also he had gained weight and wasn't taking any vitamins. We were both under a lot of stress at that time. He wore tight under wear and took hot showers. And no big O for me. We concieved in june and i hadnt really been out in the sun much. I was underweight at this point.

For conceiving my boys I will list off the things that I did when I got pregnant with them. First i would make sure i would eat a big bowl of cereal for breakfast and take prenatal vitamins before I got pregnant. I ate a lot of meat, beans, nuts, cheese and yogurt. I also did opks and always did the deed all the time and always on positive opk. I also always had the big O with all of the attempts leading to my sons. I went out to eat quite a bit. I used a alot of salt and snacked all day. ( i had a really fast metabolism so I was never overweight but definitely a healthy weight for conception). My husbasnd wore boxers at that time and didn't take really hot showers.

My sway is very much like how you conceived your boys so hopefully! The only thing I did was cut all refined sugars (I have PCOS so I found that somewhat helped my cycles to be a little more regular but still about 5-6 week cycles) and I didn't get really any sun leading up to O week because we had a cyclone but I did try and get a fair bit in the months and weeks before conceiving.

sorry to everyone who is having to deal with stupid comments, this is one of the main reasons we no longer announce the pregnancy and just announce when baby is born, that way if anyone wants to go ahead and hate all over a newborn announcement then they can go right ahead and make themselves look like a complete asshole..

there honestly is no pleasing people, i got the all-boy comments constantly then i had a girl followed by another girl and now get all the "big family" comments.. does my head in and this might sound horrid of me but a part of me thinks these comments come from some sort of jealousy, seen as people with large families of their own are only ever happy and excited for us, we have never had a single negative comment from someone with a large family.

I guess I'll go ahead and join in. I've been here for a while and didn't think I'd end up in this DDG, but pretty happy I've been lurking now :cool:

I was actually out on vacation when I realized my period was late and it was killing me not being able to test. I bought a cheapie and it was negative, so I thought my days were just off. Came home and bought 4 more tests right away and was in denial for 3 days since it was just a faint positive, but the last one finally got dark so here I am! Still kind of in shock and not sure what to expect. We have three boys :3kids: and I have a strong feeling this is a girl for some reason. I did start swaying since April, but towards the end I got kinda relaxed about it, even though it did make me change some boy-friendly habits. DD is 3/7 by my calculations. :fingers::XX:

Lola, I haven't made an appt yet, I'm actually doing that right now! Ash, I have never swayed before. I meant to before DS3, but he was an early surprise. Now that I look back at sway factors, I had a very blue-friendly diet. I think just trying to do a pink sway made me change my diet drastically, so even if it wasn't 100% girl-friendly, it was definitely less boy-friendly, if that even counts?

I will say there is something extra special about boy #3. Too many people I know say the same thing- they melt everyone's heart and have extra sweetness! I have no doubt he will be your little buddy and complete your family!

Lola, I could go on and on about how much I've loved having all boys. Funny thing is, I found a journal I had kept before having my family where I was wishing for all boys, at least 3 of them. I swore I'd have all girls and I dreaded it. I had forgotten all about it because, well after 2 boys I was definitely wishing for a girl, but seeing that has reminded me how much I truly wanted boys and how great they really are. Having a 4th is a little bittersweet because I'm losing my 3-boy wish, but I'm either adding another boy which will perfectly fit right in, or we will be swooning over the brand-newness of a little girl.

Babypink, same with me. I actually always only wanted boys. My mother in law made a big deal about how she never got her girl and now my brother in law had his first baby, a girl of course and she's so much more special in the family than my boys. Makes me a crazy mama bear. So that imposed some sense of needing something that I really don't. Understanding where the feelings come from has helped me.

On the fun side, my best childhood friend unexpectedly became pregnant and is having her third boy within a few weeks of me. So I've got some pretty great company!

Oh dreaming I was going through page after page holding my breath! Congratulations on boy #3 💙🎉 I'm sorry you didn't hear girl but happy you are happy with hearing boy! I said earlier after all this time that I'm kinda hoping this is boy number 3 for me. I love being a boy mumma 💙

Sumbal I'm excited for your appt next week! That will be your scan?
My appt is in 2.5 hours and I've made nodecision to find out gender or not. I was making mself crazing thinking about it so decided not to decide and see what happens lol. I am going to ask for a proper profile pic though so I *may end up with an actual nub shot? None of my 12w scan pics are 'complete' as in some of baby was in a good spot for measuring the particular thing they were measuring but the rest of bub is blurred or out of focus. Hoping to get a proper full clear shot of bub to use in an announcement :) Will update after my appt how it went and whether I have the envelope for dh or not. (I'm thinkinghe could just as easily ringand that would take the temptationout of my hands)

Well I had my check up appt today at 11w1d and he couldn't find the babies heart beat on the dopler machine so I got to see my little peanut! Did and ultrasound and everything is perfect!! Heart rate was 170. Here's to hoping that wives tail of a high heart rate means girl!!!
