Hey all,
I'm here too. Thanks LittleMiss for setting up a new thread and keeping us all together. Big hugs to you about your house, it must be truly horrible. The insurance company will sort out all the contractors to come and make good what's been damaged. My friend had it happen to her and her insurers sorted everything for her so try not to worry x
Babymad - huge, huge hugs hun. I have a real phobia about being sick (still after 2 pg's) and suffered quite badly with both of them. Praying and praying it won't be as bad this time as it is truly the worst thing ever. Just believe this is the worst time and it will get better soon. It must be a strong pg if you're this poorly. Hang in there x
Deaks fx for +opk tomorrow xxx Getting excited for you

Morning everyone! I have to say i was quite excited to log onto genderdreaming this morning :) but i agree, i do miss the like button. i'm not sure you've seen the other post on here but we got a reply from nuthinbutpink saying if we want she can set us up so that one of us can create "sticky threads" which I think sounds brilliant! The question is just who of us would like to moderate the smog thread?
AFM my hubby has got the man flu! lol always when we go away on holiday! on a serious note though, he is allergic to dogs and also quite sensitive to cats and my mum has just got 2 new cats and my dh is not reacting well at all and on top of that he's got a temperature! so bless him, he looks like he's been crying for a year nonstop :S i think we'll have another calm day today :)

Charlie, yes i know, peeing at 3am is hardcore swaying i feel...though it was more down to the fact that ds1 woke me up calling me..i like to see it as fate or i would have thought my earliest opk was 8am this morning. Not sure it makes much difference but it makes me feel more in control of the situation!
Its weird cos on my ipad this thread reads from bottom to top and on my mac this thread reads top to bottom like PL did.
Hi rainbow, lovely to have you here!
Littlemiss, you are doing a great job!

Hi ladies just to let you know that you can change the settings so you read it from oldest to newest post (like PL) if you go to settings at the top and change it from newest to oldest first. Also you can choose how many posts per page! catch up later.
Lavenderlime
October 24th, 2011, 07:18 AM
Sorry that doesn't make much sense. If you want to read it as you normally would so not it coming up with the newest post and the reading backwards. Then go to setting, scroll down and on the bit that says thread display mode. Chose linear-oldest first option. Hope that helps

littlemisswilko. I haven't done that with my opks as of yet but may do this month just for fun I  Hope everything is starting to dry through at home and you've got the insurance process in progress.
Wish I had 10 posts already so I could see everyones sigs as it's so much easier to keep track when you can see people tickers.

morning girls!! had a nice lie in this morning! :)
Think im going to start doing the cheapie opks as from today!! Is it just me or does/did everybody else stick them to a peice of paper to see them fade in/out ???
I attach mine to paper because they are too small to write on and it is easier to see the fade in pattern when they are all laid out in order

Does anyone know if sperm count is lower in the morning? I read that on this site but I thought I had read on PL that it was lower at night. I'm going to do my cut off next month and was planning on a night time attempt because I take the digi at night want to make sure its still negative

I have seen professionals who differ on that- not sure if it makes a big difference really provided you have already lowered it somehow (I.e. freq release, etc.) or will internally such as by j&d or douching

Hi all,
Littlemiss, i used a digi at 3am as i didn't want to be bothered with deciphering a line with bleary eyes!
Zanacal, its lovely to see you on here as i have seen your name before but never said hello...so, hello and congratulations!
Went out a bought limes today so think im all set for my o+12 when it comes round! Hoping my ph continues to behave itself so well...im even getting creamy in my cm today which is very unlike me :)

It all sounds good Deaks! Have you been doing anything different this cycle to get your PH low and keep it low? Can I ask where you get the distilled water for the lime and what would happen if you add regular water?
I know you can make your own but would rather to have it ready made.

Yes, you guys have control over how you want to see the posts through Settings at the top, right. I have it set that way because with a new post, I would have to scroll to the bottom to read the original posting and you can use the little blue arrow next to the username instead of clicking on the Thread Title and it will take you to the last post so you do not have to scroll. Regardless, you guys can change it to view the threads whichever works best for you.

okay i can't say how i know this exactly but i do know that deionised water and distilled water is not the same thing and for swaying we need to use proper distilled water. You can order it to your local Boots (or so I have been told). I got distilled water from Amazon.. it was something silly like 5ltrs, but at least i didn't have to worry about running out.

Got a -opk at 6pm which has freaked me out a bit as im so used to getting 2 days of +opks! So if i caught the start of my surge at 3am (but it could have been sooner), dh coming home to dtd tomorrow eve is going to be too late if going by the 36 hrs rule right? :( oh no, pls don't let this all go wrong! The only other option is to dtd before he goes to work tomorrow but that is 6am which will be far to early.

Thanks babymad, the last cycle i ov 48 hrs after first +. Cycles before i have ov on second day of +opk as far as i know. Its quite unusual for me to have such a short lh surge. I think you are right, i will see what my cm and cp are doing in morning. If too soon i will either beg dh to come home early or hot foot it into london and demand we dtd at his work...ha ha! i just cant miss a month due to timing!

Can i ask if anyone has continued to use cheapy opks after they got a digi smiley and if so what did the lines look like during ov and o+12?
Mine are starting to fade out but still as dark as they get without being +. Just wandering what they might look like during ov or o+12.

Will be thinking of you tomorrow morning Maybe! FX
Night all.
Deaks what will you be at when dh get's home if he gets home at normal time? O+?
This is really bad (not that bad in grand scheme of bad things:bigsmile: lol) though but could you call DH and fake an emergency? At 11.am or something and say that you need DH home now! Or could he pull a sickie? You have kids so he could easily caught something from one of them. Something like a 24 hour DV bug so he doesn't have to actually sound ill.
If you hadn't tested at 3 a.m what time would you have tested with your first OPK? You could just do O+12 from that time because it's such a fluke that you'd test at 3 a.m.
Hope you come to a decision for your attempt tomo.
Night all.

Deaks - i have read about people getting their DH to leave a sample with them! Am not sure what you would put it in and you would have to keep it in your bra or something to keep it body temperature - you then pop it in at the right time!!
Inglewood - hugs for your absess x i have had mastisis numerous times and it is soooo painful hope the cream works soon x will you get another scan in 4wks?? You might be able to see the gender then?!
Maybe - hope the scan goes well enjoy buying that outfit x

Charlie, I have contemplated the whole leave me a sample idea but I just can't see the sperm surviving! It must decrease the chances of pregnancy so much!
Lavender, yes if I hadn't tested at 3am I would have just thought 8am was the start of my surge so that would be tomorrow evening. That must happen to a lot of people right? They must test in the morning and do their 36hrs from there?? Dh still not home and just spoke to him and he has back to back meetings all day apparently. Might have to work on him when he gets home. I tell you, this new job has a lot to answer for!!

Gosh this is an early one ladies but dh just about to leave for work and am really hoping I have done the right thing! Forgot to wake up in the night to check cervix so hope nothing happened then that I don't realise about! Just checked it now and still low and quite firm. Not a lot of cm but what there is is still stretchy. We didn't dtd mainly because my opks are still very dark. Not + dark but only a shade off that. So I'm convinced my surge is still pretty strong and that I cant have ov. What do you reckon? Should we have dtd?

Pinga ~ welcome hun, glad to see you made it over! :)
Maybebaby ~ wishing you lots of luck for today! I’m wearing pink for you and I’ll be stalking this thread for an update! Enjoy seeing your baby on the screen! :)
Inglewood ~ Oh no i’m so sorry to hear about the breast abscess! I developed a severe breast abscess after ds1 was born which i needed to have surgery for. They managed to drain out 60ml of pus and i was on antibiotics for nearly 2 months so please make sure to keep a close eye on your breast abscess so that it doesn’t get worse! Hope you feel better soon! Btw LOVE your scan pictures, especially the one where you see the babies lying next to each other! So cute!
Charliespy ~ I hope it goes well for your sister tomorrow. What a tricky situation you’re in.. i completely understand why you don’t want to tell her yet, but at the same time want to tell her.. if i was you i would probably tell her before she goes ahead with the termination because she might be struggling with feelings of guilt and regret for some time afterwards (or she might not) and the news that you’re expecting might potentially hit her hard iyswim? Good luck whatever you decide to do!
Zanacal ~ haha i know, these ladies certainky know how to talk! i’ve been active on smog for a year now and it still surprises me when i log on and i have 10 new pages to read through lol :D How’s the pregnancy treating you? :)
2monkeys ~ nice to hear from you hun!
AFM we had a horrible night last night! DH got such an allergic reaction to the cats that he had to go to hospital we’re they gave him all sort of drugs to widen his airways. In the end he had to stay overnight so im waiting to hear from him now. I’ve also had to sort other sleeping arrangements for us this morning so i’ve been a busy bee who’s operating on autopilot as i’ve only had 4,5 hours of sleep last night *zZz*

Your poor dh, like I said on fb, such a shame at the start if your hols. Hope you hear from him soon and he can be discharged today. Where will you stay? I guess removing the cats wouldn't work as their hair would still be about.
Hi pinga, glad you found us!
Maybe, good luck today Hun, thinking of you. Bet you are so nervous!
Charlie, I'm tempted to agree with sunset about your sis as if she knew you were pg, she might feel differently about her own situation. Even if she doesn't, it might hit her less hard before the procedure than after. Tricky.
Inglewood, how are you today? Hope not it lots of pain. I have suffered with mastitis badly as I had breast surgery and one of them doesn't drain on it's own. Horrific, so I really feel for you!

Sunset your poor DP!!! I hope you get some rest too today as you must be exhausted. Thank you for your reply I'll PM back Asap.
Maybe thinking of you!
Deaks I still think you've got a really good shot this month! and I'm sure lots of people miss the actual start of their peak and go from the first + OPK of the morning, also I think you have to think you may ov 26, 28, 30 etc hours after first opk espcially as you usually have a long surge anyway and not worry too much about ov being 24 hours after first + OPK as that's just an average. I hope you have a great attempt this afternoon/evening do you have everything ready? I hope you have a nice chilled and calm day today.

Still getting cramps and cm was ew/creamy with ph 5.8 so glad we didn't dtd this morning! Its so easy to feel rushed and really hard to wait. Deaks no attempt for me this cycle. Or next, my first one will be early December if my cycles stick at 27 days. I started the diet mid cycle so a little early so have been a little slack but am planning to be really strict when AF starts so I have a really strong 6 week build up to my 1st attempt. I just seem to have no will power at the moment to be super strict I think my night out threw me a little bit. Before that I was doing well.
Just the question for you all can the diet make you feel like you have a UTI because of the body becoming more acidic. Or do you think I actually have a UTI? I haven't had one for about 7 years. And would have thought with all the cranberry It would be doing my bladder good?

HadG - you probably don't need to worry about time of day then!
I don't believe the evidence supports cut-offs so we're BDing through O... and probably keep BDing through to O+12 too although not sure exactly what time I will OV!

my reasoning for doing 0+12 is that i feel it has a better ratio then cut off and my cycles arnt very regular so i feel it would be hard for me to know when my cut off is! Whereas by going with the newzealand theory of DTD 36hrs after first opk which will be 0+12 is easier!

The LE diet, is the low everything diet, which is based on the TW theory of less nutritioned mothers conceived more girls:) I can vouch for my last 3 girls where I lived off white bread, plain pasta and chocolate, making my blood sugars rise and crash all day, perfect conditions for those tougher girly embryo's:agree:

That sounds like my kind of diet!! I could hapily live off of toast and chocolate if I was alowed cups of tea too sounds lovely! So did you not change your PH at all?
Or do you naturally have a low PH seeing as you have 3 girls already.
It's lovely to have people popping in especially when they talk of diets involving chocolate!! lol
edit- sorry I'm guessing now that you swayed blue with this bump and you naturally had 3 girls before days of swaying.

Zana - near Southampton. Do you like hospitals then? I wonder if I'd have preferred my stay there had we had the option of a private room.
I'm actually hoping to avoid a hospital birth next time if they let me! (I had BP issues and a bleed so was hospitalised last time, we'd planned a birth centre water birth)
zanacal
October 25th, 2011, 11:16 AM
Do I like hospitals?! No! I had DS2 at home and he wasn't breathing when he was born - it was 5 minutes before he gasped for breath and 15 minutes before he was making regular respiritory effort so we were blue lighted to hospital (around 40 minutes having had my placenta pulled out incredibly quickly - that drive was almost more painful than the birth!) and he spent 3 days in SCBU. DH said no more babies if I wanted more home births as it was the scariest day of his life - he followed us to hospital and didn't even know if DS2 was alive. I'm more than happy with this actually and try instead to focus on the positives of being in hospital and still try to make it as natural as I can in that environment and am very clear about what I do and don't want (no drugs except gas and air after that little experience!).
Southampton isn't too far from here either - I was at Ikea with my sister just the other week!

I had both mine in Dorchester too! Even though when I was pregnant with both my boys we were living in Poole at the time (we used to live in Dorchester before hand). Firstly I planned a homebirth (really didn't like Poole hospital from my visit) but because of my anemia they said I was better of delivering in hospital incase I lost too much blood and needed a blood transfer in labour. I had such a great experience and got a private room each time it's a really lovely hospital!

Whereas by going with the newzealand theory of DTD 36hrs after first opk which will be 0+12 is easier!
So my last two cycles: August and September my +opk was CD 14 8pm and 9pm only using digital once a day. so my 0+12 would be CD 17 8/9pm? If all stays the same obviously. Will see soon if I have + same cycle day in November. Should I use digital more then 1x a day. Have been doing regular opks at 2 and 7pm and digitals at night like 8-10pm once cheapies got darker.
Gl with your house!!
Lavenderlime
October 25th, 2011, 11:58 AM
HopeanddreamG. If you got 9PM on CD14 then you would do the dead at 9AM CD16.
So a day and a half after your first +OPK I think the advice is to test every 4 hours as you want to catch the very start of the surge with cheapies and if you get a positive back up with a digi unless the cheapies don't work as well as you then just use the digitals.
Lavenderlime
October 25th, 2011, 12:01 PM
Also to add I think you have to use a digital for FMU as cheapies aren't designed to use FMU. SO if your pretty regular you could just use the digitals as you wouldn't have to use that many so wouldn't be too expensive.

Hope- I think this is where the whole cervix thing comes in and testing CM to see if it's changed to creamy. Saying that O+12 is 36 hours after your first OPK is going on the average that most people will ovulate 24 hours after their first OPK but it can be less or more up to 48 hours.
I think when it comes to me doing it I'm going to try and go with the flow as timing is the least important sway factor I think so If it's approx 36 hours after first OPK and I can see creamy CM then I'll go for it. But if it's 32 or even 40 hours but I've noticed a change then i'll atempt then.
Some people end up doing O+9 or O+14 and some people it will be an exact O+12

Can someone please post a link of where they got there calcium citrate from?
Because at the momet I have calcium carbonate and want to start my strict sway in a few day. I've looked on amazon but allot of the ones on there don't list how many mg of calcium. And I don't want to risk getting a bottle and finding out it's capsules with a gelatine shell. Also some are mixed like calcium citrate and vitamin D which is fine but I want to know how much of each is in a tablet. Also price is important I don't really want to spend more than £10 on a bottle inc p&p as i'm still way off pay day! Please someone help as I can't face spending much longer searching!
Forgot about sunsets uk sway list on PL will have a look there now!
Nope still stuck ones super expensive as you have to take 5 tabs a day and there's only 50 in bottle
and the other already has magnesium in it which I already have also it has 500mg when you need 300mg and 1000mg of calcium when you need 1200mg.
HELP i'm stuck!

Hi girls, sorry to keep you waiting! I could hardly sleep last night (so nervous about all being ok and the sex), been out all day in town as back and forth to the hospital and then was so tierd I went to bed.
Well no massive suprise but I am having my third little boy!
I am not suprised but I am sad, I have to say. No DD for us ever now. One thing is for sure, I don't want another baby!!! Not ever! So I guess I am cured of the broodyness! That was my first thought after the scan. I did get a cute 4d shot, will try to post it later. I think the sonographer had all boys as she said 'thats what I have at home, lots of figthing, shouting and biting' gauwd help me!! hehehe!! She did also say he's healthy and thats the main thing, which is a taste of comments to come, but bring it on. I'm ready for that.
He looked very sqisshed in their. DH said he looks like he was licking a window as my uterus was right up to his face! She showed us his bits, DH couldn't make it out, I told the snono I have seen that before and wasn't at all upset at the hospital. Told DS1 when we got to the hospital he was going to be a big brother again, he was in at the scan and said he was bored!!! GGGRRRRGGHHHHH!!!!!!!!!! After all that stress about how he would feel!!! If I never gave birth or mentioned the baby again he would never remember! MEN!!!!
Bought some lovely outfits for Dave, will post them in a bit.
So I am upset it's not pink, and never will I have my girl, but I am so glad Dave is ok and I am having another shot at being a new mum. Would love to say it doesn't matter but that would be a lie. I have decided to get more girly and make up for the testosterone in my house with shoes and handbags!!!
Thanks for the luck today x

Thank you... I think I'm getting obessed with timing (and swaying all together) bc I feel like I have the other parts of my sway down... I'm just afraid to be too close to ovualtion and end up with an opposite. From everything I've learned I know its the least important it's hard for me to wrap my brain around because I always thought it was most important before I found out about swaying (going just by shettles book)! Which I know has been largely discounted... also why I'm considering O + instead of my cut off.... time will tell

Maybe a healthy baby boy how lovely! Glad you found some lovely boy outfits I was only saying the other day that this winter i've really liked the outfits they have for boys.
I'm glad you have SMOG to vent to if you ever need it, we'll always be understanding as we're in the same boat. And the fact that Dave was the one that made it past all the saying means that he was really ment to be here!
The good thing about finding out at 20 weeks is that it leaves 20 weeks to get your head around it and be at peace with it by the time your little guy arrives.
I can understand you being a bit sad but at least you know you've really tried, and you don't have the what if i'd swayed niggling away.
Can't wait to see baby daves scan pics!

Ah thanks girls.
Hopeanddream - thanks I know you all know how I feel as thats why we are all here.
I am so glad I found out now. I think I would have been more upset at birth with all those hormones as well. It was nice buying the boy bits. I said to DH no white, cream or baby blue so we got some nice vibrant colours. Also it makes a nice change knowing the sex before birth as we have never found out before. It was nice getting Dave some things just for him. We have choosen a name (not Dave but bumpie will stay Dave until the birth) we just need to decide how to spell the name now! Another celtic name, Scottish again same as DS2

can anyone tell me whether creamy cm stretches?
My cervix was super soft at around 3-4pm and firm again by 6pm. Have tested my ph which was back down to 4.6 and the sample was quite small which generally for me means that the ph would actually be lower if i had a bigger sample to test (does anyone else notice this?). My cm has definitely gone creamy but still has a little stretch to it....up to i inch. Is this considered creamy cm?

So the morning after the night before, my only worry is that we dtd the second time too close to the first. Do you think this was a bad idea, perhaps it would have increased my testosterone before the first batch reached the egg? Silly I know and it was the only chance dh and I would have got as he wanted to go to sleep. Raining here so quiet one at home today.
Deaks- hope 2ww goes fast for you and it will be the last one you will have to do for a long time!
Charlie- hope you are a bit recovered today, the pumpkins are amazing!! will have to give it a go myself, never tried so you are inspiring me!
10dpo here but really not feeling it this month....maybe test tomorrow depending on temps. Thinking of giving next month a miss as an august baby would be difficult with the summer hols (always go the same place and have it booked). Don't really want to miss a month, and then it is December which I will find impossible to be on a diet for so may have to miss that month too....so annoying, wish we could just plan the month to get our bfps, it would be so much easier lol.

I must say I was a little confused as why you'd be swaying for a 4th girl. It's not like you'd need too!Tea chocolate and toast!, that practically was my diet:agree: All day just picking at these things everytime the sugar crashed I just topped it up again with some more rubbish.Never had a proper evening meal unless it was pasta or rice dish with the main bulk of it being the carb, with a bit of some type of sauce to make it palatable.
Yes, I swayed for a boy this time and got him:HH:I stopped the tea, toast and chocolate completely! Swapped for nuts, dried fruit and potato dishes and luckily it worked! My last 3 babies were girls naturally all with what I'm confident was also o+12 area timing, 1 shot after +opk when cm was creamy:agree: But in all I have 5 pink, 3 blues so a lovely mix of all:) I've been lucky to be able to look back now and see what I was doing differently and have found some clear patterns, which fit some of the theories here perfectly:agree:
I've never really checked ph but I discovered that the constant eating if white bread would always cause me yi around ov time, so I don't know if that strongly affects anything to do with ph:)

Just popping in to say that I have added sunset's shopping giude for uk swayers from PL to the start of the thread, just after the roll call so that it's easy to keep with the SMOG thread when PL goes down.
have a lovely day all. x
what a fantastic comprehensive list!!
we already have a UK product thread on here, perhaps you can add it to that? http://genderdreaming.com/forum/showthread.php?3489-Uk-ladies-let-s-help-each-other!

Hi girls,
Aww congrats on your baby boy maybe, you're gonna love him soooo much, promise you those sad feelings do fade with time although it may seem hard at first, 3 healthy children is more than what alot of people have, we just have to remember that, it helps me when im feeling down. Love little Daves clothes too, they're super cute :-)
Good luck deaks, praying this is your month :-)
Well, due date is tomorrow! ive had NO twinges or anything, gonna try and get some raspberry leaf tea today, do you get it from normal supermarkets? The boys are being really good, havent done much with them this week at all but they are entertaining themselves and we've had a few film afternoons lol x
