I haven't been able to get to my cervix for days now... what does that mean? I have had it happen occasionally in different cycles, but this is unusual for me. Is it a sign of too much of some hormone? Is it bad for a boy sway? The temps this cycle as well as last seem to be higher than the last few months before, which is a girl thing, right? I am not happy about that.

I have read that higher then normal temps is due to increased progesterone which you want to sway girl.

Atomic believes the higher temps theory is totally unproven, as is the theory that higher progesterone is good for a girl sway - I'll see if I can find a link in a moment.

I don't know why else it might be Hobber - except maybe it happens to all of us from time to time but we don't know because we're not always trying to check the thing! Are you due to O?

Perhaps your cervix is just really high because you're due to O then! Good luck x

I'm not sure why or how this thread was closed so I opened it.

Hobber as you know I answered you via PM already but just to answer for others who may be wondering:

If anything, I think a very high cervix would be a good sign for blue because you are prob. higher in estrogen...your body doesn't really start to produce progesterone until after you ovulate, so whatever happens when your body is gearing up to O

Like Zanacal mentioned, I'm a little skeptical over the temps = gender correlation. Testosterone, estrogen, and progesterone are all made from the exact same raw materials, so when you give your body a lot of raw materials to build hormones from, it will make ALL the hormones and not just one or two of them. If there is anything to the idea that higher fertility is what sways blue, higher levels of all three hormones will simply mean that you're more fertile than ever.

Plus, I suspect that the reason why temps go up or down overall has a lot more to do with your metabolism as a whole anyway and not the hormone levels per se. I suspect that if our husbands took their temps over the course of several months there would be months that were higher and months that were lower and this has nothing to do with a menstrual cycle, KWIM??
