Hi I was wondering about a good way to get through skipping breakfast - i want to get to 12 but it's so hard. If I just have coffee I get shaky - I know it's not healthy but what about sweets? Or diet soda? Or does that make as the point, is the point to 'fast'?
Thankyou :)

I use diet coke and sugar free gum to get me through- some days it is hard though especially with 60 min cardio in the morning!

Hi Frankie! Skipping breakfast was SO hard for me! I filled up on crystal light, sugar free gum & then sometimes before I ever ate a meal, I'd have candy such as starbursts or airheads haha. I do believe it's a combination of factors and not just skipping breakfast, but it did work for me [emoji4]

I keep seeing your name pop up lolabelle - do you have a link to your successful sway? :)

Ps what is crystal light? I'm in Australia and never heard of it !

Frankie-I just recently found out that it worked! Something worked...the sway, prayer, luck...or maybe a combo haha. But yes, here's my sway:

Crystal light is a low cal powdered drink with an artificial sweetener-aspartame (like the diet sodas), which is said to sway pink. I would get these little on-the-go packets with caffeine & pour them into bottled water! [emoji4]
Maybe you have something similar in Oz?

I'm swaying pink & most days I usually eat by 9:30/10 and some days it's even earlier than that (today was 8:45 - oops!). However, I eat dinner early b/c we feed our kiddos early (usually around 5:30), so I try to consume my last calories by 6/6:30 pm each day. This means by the time I eat the next morning I've still had a 14-15+ hour "fast" between meals, which Atomic told me totally counts as "skipping breakfast"! I eat 3 meals a day - 2nd midday meal is usually pretty small though. But I've just found this schedule works a little better for me b/c it's easier for me to not eat after 6 pm than to go allllll morning w/o eating, and then I don't get real shaky during the day, when I'm working out, etc.

I hope Atomic will correct me if I'm wrong but I *think* the long fast is more important than the actual times of day you are eating. The fast is what helps improve your insulin response, which sways girl. But ya gotta do what works for you/ what you feel comfortable with!! On the days that I do go later before eating (like 12 pm or later), the coffee w/ a little milk and sugar-free syrup helps me a bit to at least feel like there's something in my stomach, and Atomic says coffee w/ a little milk/cream is totally allowed too!

You don't have to get to 12. Just push breakfast back a few hours. If you get to 10, great. 11, great. There is no proven additional benefit of 12 pm and your body doesn't know what time it is.

Anything unsweetened or artificially sweetened is fine as a fake breakfast.

Yep ABC is quite right - no magic to breakfast, the key is the overnight fast. I have found that most people find it easier to skip breakfast rather than eat an early dinner but everyone, please do what works best for you!
