Hi,
I am new to this site.
I am 30 years old and my husband is 31. This would be our first baby. We are planning from last two months but could not conceive.
I have PCOS and my re has pescirbed me metformin which i am taking from last 15 days. I am not overweight , is it possible to take metformin for two months and loose weight and then try on third month? Or shall i continue taking metformin with other blue sway tactics?
Please ignore my grammar mistakes as english is not my first language.
Thanks in advance.

Yes yes please take the metformin as your doctor prescribes.
For diet, eat a higher protein, lower carb (but NOT low carb) diet like the Zone, the South Beach Diet, or the Perfect Health Diet. You want about 40% of your calories from protein, 30% from healthy carbs (like fruit, vegetables, and whole grains or potatoes) and 30% fat. Try to get your fat and protein from animal sources like eggs, dairy, meat instead of vegetable sources.
Also take a prenatal or multivitamin every day! Your husband can take a men's over 50 supplement (even if he is not over 50)
PCOS sways blue to start with. But if your PCOS needs to be medicated, it is good that you are on the Metformin. You will be able to get pregnant with a boy by making small corrections with the Metformin and eating a better diet. :)

Hi Atomic!!
Thanks for your propmt response.
Shall i continue losing weight? Or metformin will take care of that?

Its 116 lbs for a height of 5 feet.
One more question, can i leave metformin after two months of continuos intake? I am on 500mg daily.

What I would do instead is rather than focusing on your weight, focus on exercise. Both weight training and 30-45 min. cardio (no more than that) 3-5 days a week. Let's play it by ear on the weight loss, the exercise (esp. the weights) will help your PCOS and your blue sway.
You need to talk to your doc about coming off the Met - some people are able to give it up after losing some weight and adding in exercise (your insulin response will improve) but I can't know that from here - doctors will be able to measure your glucose and know if the exercise regimen has helped. :)

Thanks for your support
One last question, I usually take 7-8 small meals but portion size is quite small (more like snacks) ; does it impact blue sway?

If anything that would only benefit a blue sway!! That is very much how most of us boy moms eat - all day long. :)
