Pbn3 - thank you, you made me feel MUCH better!!! I was feeling like something wasn't right w/ not seeing a temp rise until today after getting +OPK on Saturday morning! We BD-ed 16 hours after getting that positive OPK so hopefully there were still sperm left on Monday when I O'd! If we don't get a BFP I think next cycle I'll still probably plan to BD 12-18 hours after that solid smiley OPK so that if I do take 2 days to O again I've still got a good shot at it :)
Mommy I really like Pbn's idea of the occasional temping to try to confirm O, but not doing it everyday.. Think I may take that route next cycle... I find temping horribly stressful!!! :)

I totally see a line Happylea! I thinks it's time to ditch these tests and get/use some FRERs. That will put this to rest. In the early days, that's how mine looked around 10dpo. I had a clear line with color at 16dpo, but this pregnancy started out as twins for me.

Babybeablue - the bottom one I dipped in water for comparison as I wanted to see if I would see a line on water one.
Mommy - I wonder if it has something with the forum going weird yesterday.
I have msgd hubby to pick me an frer up, he says he can't see line in pic but in person it's much easier to see than on picture, I am very much in doubt still. Hopefully he will pick up an frer for me.

BBB- I think you are gearing up to ovulate. Temps usually get low pre-O and rise 1-2dpo with a sustained rise post-O. I've read the other thread about your situation, and I'm hoping that you can get a miracle BFP!
Have you and your DH decided what to do yet, or are you still working out the details?

I had to buy some HCg (dont ask lol) hopefully it will come today. He will ask his Dr for it when he sees him next month, but in the meantime he is gonna take it himself, so we will probably skip this month to avoid the bfn heartache again.

Babybeau, hope the hcg does the trick! Last time my temps went way off my thermometer needed new batteries like mommy suggests.
Hi LMSM, nice to hear from you!
Well as for me, DH didn't pull out last night! (Sorry if that's tmi! [emoji15]) He just smiled and said afterwards 'are you ovulating?' so looks like we might be getting somewhere.. The annoying thing is, I should be ovulating by now but still no sign at all, opks have all had like a medium dark line for the last 5 days [emoji848]

Thanks everyone. I changed the battery a few days ago and used my other thermometer straight after and got the same reading.
The hcg mimics LH to kick the testicles into action to start making sperm again. Ironic that he needs the pregnancy hormone to get me pregnant :/ I can't get a definite answer as to how long it will take and he could need some FsH as well. Hopefully not tho

So I decided it would be a great idea to poas I used the 2nd acutest test (not fmu) but on a big hold and I see a line (still skeptical as very faint and these get bad reviews for giving false positives) I had to open test as the control panel is shocking. Do I have line eyes

Babybeaublue your temps look completely normal :) like xxforhubby said you'll see a sustained rise after o happens and temps will often bottom out when gearing up to o. They may come back up a bit before spiking at o or they may stay low then spike from the bottom so to speak. Hope the hcg does wonders quickly and you get in with a good chance this cycle [emoji3]

Pbn temp shot up today but I don't think I've o'd yet.
I was thinking, if sperm takes 72 days to form, that means I'll have to wait at least around 3 months to ttc again - maybe even 6 to get the count up :( it's just so depressing.

Yeah one temp on its own doesn't tell you much. Remind me again are you using opks? I really don't know anything about how much dh's sperm is affected but does that medication he was on make him completely sterile or is it more of a depletes the supply? Also what's NHS?

Mummy - so glad giving your dh space has worked out, so exciting! I think giving them what they want (or at least them thinking your giving them what they want) always helps in most situations :D

Hey guys, do you mind if I join you? I lost my DD at 17 weeks this past May due to a cord accident. I'm swaying pink again and currently in my TWW. I had one weird episode of watery brown spotting in the underwear at 4dpo that went away immediately and then I had some pretty intense cramping 4-5dpo. Since then I've felt an occasional tightness in my belly and had some nausea off and on. I know that seems insanely early for implantation so I asked my OB (who I'm friends with) and she said it's definitely possible to implant then. My temp spiked crazy high today at 8dpo and I got ahead of myself and took a FRER which was a BFN. If I implanted at 5dpo though it should be positive by 8dpo right? Oh and I have a short LP so I usually only get to 11dpo if I'm preggo. Here's my chart:

Mummy2boys I'd also go with an attempt tomorrow.
Nebethe I'm so sorry for your loss. In regards to your chart I see a third spike in temp (as in triphasic) as possible implantation having taken place so I'd think either tomorrow or the next day you'd see a faint line on a sensitive test like an frer. Implantation can take several days so maybe it began at 5dpo but didn't fully implant until 6/7dpo? Would then need two to three days to create enough hcg to regisiter on a sensitive hpt. Fx so tight for you and cant wait to see how your testing goes the next couple days!

Babybeaublue so happy its arrived! I'm curious as to what atomic has advised about whether dh's sperm quality (or lack of sperm) would sway pink and if you should hold off a few cycles while the hcg does it stuff?

Mummy i agree with a tomorrow attempt
Pbn atomic thinks we shouldnt wait about. She says we just don't know for sure what could happen one way or the other. I'm not sure about the swaying side. I think she means that all in all we could be in the same boat months down the line or maybe things could get worse, and for all we know this could be the month things work out fine.
My temp is up again this morning and have ewcm so not sure what's happening. I usually get 2 or 3 days of watery first :/

Babybeablue I absolutely hate waiting for opks to change!
So my temp seems to be relatively stable this morning, 98.4 and when I immediately retook it 98.6 (usually when I immediately retake it's the same number). I resisted testing today...I hate looking at stark white BFNs.

I know, right?!!! Grrrr. Although it's weird - I feel kinda mentally checked out from this cycle already.... Like I've already decided in my head that I'm not going to get a BFP. Not sure why. I did though feel that way when we got pregnant w/ my first son - we got pregnant in the first month w/ him and b/c it was my first month ttc I just assumed it was not going to happen on the first try! Last month was my first cycle ever to get a BFN! I know I was super lucky to get pregnant so quickly both times & am thankful for that. But now I kinda feel like it will take awhile. I don't know - ttc/pregnancy/mothering stuff really messes with one's head :)
Anyways we leave town next Thursday afternoon so I think I'll probably start testing on Thursday morning before we go - maybe Wednesday if the suspense really gets to me :) I'll be at my staying at my aunt's house next weekend so wont be able to be too obsessive in POAS as that could be a little embarrassing if she finds the pee sticks - Ha!

Hang in there butterfly xxoo I know full well how hard it is to try so long. Have you had any fertility testing done? I had testing done after 1st emc and was found to have very low ovarian reserve. I was given clomid because of it but only conceived once on a medicated cycle, the other times were cycle following medicated one so maybe it helped as it stays in you system for up to 2 months or something.

I haven't because I got pregnant so quickly with my boys.. I'm not sure if it's the dtd just one time in my fertile window thats lowering my odds each month.. I should probably just go to my OB and see if everything looks ok.. I have regular cycles and get posative opks each month but It's probably a good idea to just get checked

If you do don't say anything about only having one attempt. You may be prescribed clomid which will be great for your pink sway [emoji3] Have you considered e4d? Also are you temping to see when you're oing after getting a pos opk?

really I don't know anything about clomid other than I feel I heard it tends to result in multiples.. I have never temped is it really helpful in pinpointing exact ovulation? I have not tried e4d do you see people getting more bfp's that way?

Butterfly I get the evil spot on my chin before AF too!! Also backache. You try to ignore but, nope!
I Also have a short L.p. last month it was 9 days which is really short even for me :/
Hopefully the bfps will start rolling in soon :)
ABC I got pregnant either the first or 2nd month with all 5 of mine. It's frustrating when the months roll by and still nothing. Although now I'm convinced it's dh's test injections. Just wish I'd known sooner.
Pbn FF gave me crosshairs on cd11?!?!? Hoping it changes soon, I don't think it's right, plus I do not want to have to start using opks even earlier each month only to O at like cd16 or something:(
Anyway I'm off out soon for my Anniversary! 17 years of pure torture lol!!!

Babybeaublue I'd keep doing eod for now. I'm not convinced you've oed yet either but can understand why ff has put them there. If you temps indicate o taking place further along then ff should adjust your crosshairs accordingly. Hard to say as we don't have any previous cycles temps to know what your usual post o range is but in another week or so there should be a more obvious overall pattern :)

I have not tried e4d do you see people getting more bfp's that way?Butterfly temping can be handy to pinpoint o to within a day or two. Sometimes its a super obvious maintained temp spike, other times it can be more subtle but you can usually tell with an overall pattern. Clomid or femara are both fertility meds. Clomid can result in more than one egg being released hence the multiples chance but in the 2.5 years I've been active on this site I don't think I've seen any multiples conceived from those taking clomid [emoji848] (myself included) Both clomid and femara are strong pink tactics and some women get clomid specifically for their sway. So if you are prescribed it after telling your ob you've been trying unsuccessfully for a year then bonus [emoji3] I'd probably give e4d a couple cycles too before temping as many women find it stressful to temp/chart :)

I'm up because I can't sleep-1.my DS3 has gotten super clingy. I think he's sensing the baby is coming. 2. I can't stay comfortable [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23]!
That brings me to your post, Butterfly. ABSOLUTELY it's time to give up one one attempt at positive opk since you've been TTCing for a year now! You may be like me and not ovulating until 36-48 hours after your positive opk. I know they say sperm can last up to 5 days, blah, blah, blah, but my experience is this does not happen very often.
I would keep doing your positive opks. Once AF ends, BD E4D until you get to CD22. I would even consider having another attempt once you get your positive opk and then resume E4D.
E4D works like this: Attempt on Monday and then attempt on Thursday, then on Sunday, etc. If you get your opk say on Wednesday, you would attempt then and have another attempt on Saturday.
It's time to get you pregnant girl! Yes you can still get a girl this way! Look at my sway- my chart should be attached in my signature. I was doing opks, but my DH wasn't fully on board until my BFP cycle. I had to BD whenever he wanted, which worked out to be E4D that cycle.
Keep up the diet, stop any lubes (unless you need a bit to make BDing comfortable), no jump and dump (if you have to keep it wait at least 15-30min).
We will be here to support you! And damnit, we WILL get you pregnant [emoji6]🤣🤣!!

CD4 for me today so it's back to the OPKs soon :sigh:
Had my recent smear test results back which kinda through me on Friday, I have tested positive for hpv virus so have to be re-tested next year, rather than 3 years. I got totally upset and paranoid as no other info was given and I didn't know about this virus or what it meant. I managed to speak to a nurse and she said its extremely common and not too worry that it lays dorment in some ppl for many years and it may just go away on its own but they will keep a closer eye on me. It just worries me that I could have had it for many years and as I have never been tested for it before its unknown how long it's been there. And obviously the risk of it being related to cervical cancer

Happylea is that the same thing they are now vaccinating school girls against? Is it ok in pregnancy? I would have freaked out too.
HappyLea
August 13th, 2017, 11:45 AM
Babybeablue yes it is, the nurse reassured me but still worried about it. She also said I could have had it since I was 18 years old (having never been tested I don't know how long I have had it) but I have had 5 babies since then so I assumed it was OK.
I read up on it and it's says it's OK to have babies. It said can cause pre cancerous cells and also says can cause fertility issues and problems carrying to full term. I had no abnormal cells which is a relief.
The only thing I'm not sure of is there are many strains of this virus and I don't know which strain I have tested positive for, I don't have any warts are anything. The nurse said that 2 strains I think the numbers are like 16&18 (don't quote me on the numbers as they could be incorrect) that are higher risk and that is what they look for in the test. So assume I tested positive for those :worry:

So then any of us could have it :/ that's scary. I had an abnormal smear before any of my pregnancies and it really does frighten u.
What made them test for it this time?
HappyLea
August 13th, 2017, 03:08 PM
Babybeaublue - it's now a routine check they do with the smear, they rolled it out a few years ago. when I had my last smear the hpv test wasn't part of it, also different areas rolled it out at different times.
Absolutely frightening, after your abnormal smear was everything ok?
Babybeaublue
August 13th, 2017, 03:46 PM
In had to have a colposcopy done. Then wait a year before ttc. I had a smear last year and it was ok. I wonder if they tested me?
Hope everything goes ok for you :)

Thank you max! Wow that sounds lovely taking your girls to the beach house for a few months! Bet they love it. I will probably try and do like you and drive over to see him if I get a positive opk. Hopefully it will be before I'm back in work in September! How are you? I saw your other post, sounds really scary, hope you are okay.
Happylea, I had abnormal cells years and years ago, I had them treated and fingers crossed everything has been fine since. I had yearly smears for 5 years and now I've gone back to every 3 years. I've just had my recent one and they didn't mention the hpv test so mustn't be doing it yet in my area. I believe it is really common though, an old boyfriend of mine had it when I had the abnormal cells, so I may have had it too.

Happylea - sorry to hear about the hpv :( From what I've heard about it, as long as you keep getting regular pap smears, they can identify any abnormal cells that develop & remove them before they become a bigger problem. I used to have an OBGYN who always told me that most people who get very serious/ advanced cervical cancer go for years and years w/o getting pap smears & that with regular screening, it's pretty preventable.
Uggh I'm finding it harder to maintain the LE diet & exercise during the TWW. I've been doing 5 days a week of exercise throughout my sway but now that we're ttc I'm reaaaaally struggling to maintain my motivation. I'm doing ok on calories & protein, but my fat totals the past two days have been high (low 60's). And my husband bought mini Chips Ahoy tonight and b/c I'm trying to do mostly PCOS diet (which I've also slipped on lately...), I'm not supposed to have sweets, but oops, ate 1 full serving from the bag! :( :( In summary - I need to be pregnant soon b/c I can feel cracks forming in my willpower!!! :)

ABC, my temps were a bit all over the place as well...don't stress too much about it!Thanks maximbella... I know I'm overthinking things! With my boys I was not at all stressed out during the tww - I need to take that approach this time! How are you feeling?
On the plus side I got on the scale yesterday and I'm at 29 lbs of weight loss since I started my sway! Only 1 lb away from 30! Pretty excited about that as I've never lost that amount of weight over one time period before. Granted, it was basically all weight that I had put on over the past few 5 years with two pregnancies and I'm basically just back to the weight that I've spent much of my life at, but it still feels good! If I didn't conceive this cycle then whenever I do conceive I'll be at my lowest conception weight - hopefully just another little factor that will help in conceiving a DD!
Hope everyone is well!

Ugggggh, crap. I just had some real spotting - I think it's AF spotting too b/c now I'm feeling like I have AF cramps a bit too. And I had that slight temp dip this morning. :( But I'm only 8 dpo so if I do start AF in the next couple of days my LP was really too short this cycle. Hey everyone - I'm trying to work out what DPO I am. Recent illness delayed my ovulation, and I only got a positive OPK on cd21. Which means I'm now 9 days after that positive OPK. Any idea what DPO I might be? The OPK was negative on cd22, and my preg test today was negative, hoping that means I'm more like 7-8 DPO rather than 9! Thanks

Bepan you'd likely be 7dpo possibly only 6dpo. Ovulation generally takes place day after pos opk so 1dpo is 2 days after pos opk if that makes sense. You may have oed 2nd day after pos opk too which would mean you're only 6dpo :)

Maximbella yea I think I'll ask her about it. Will wait to see when AF starts and if I even make it to 10 days of an LP. This is the 2nd cycle where things seem a little "off". Last cycle, it was one day shorter than normal and I had a little spotting beforehand. Before swaying, I never spotted before AF and that seems to be happening more now. I already have really short, very consistent cycles & a shorter LP, so even little changes throw me off a lot!

Abc I'm sorry [emoji853] if af starts tomorrow that will give you a 9 day lp? Swaying can definately affect your cycle. A 10 day lp is fine but I too would be nervous if mine fell below that [emoji848] especially if you're used to a 12-14 day lp.

Pbn3 - yea I'm nervous. It was 10 days when I conceived my boys so it has always been short but not less than 10. I think if it happens next cycle I'll call the doctor. I've told him once before that I have a short LP and short cycles and he mentioned progesterone supplements. But atomic says Clomid is used now for short LP too and I'd rather that for my sway! :) :) (Although I'd be terrified of getting twins!!)
Ugh I'm sooooo PMS-y right now too and I never get PMS anymore!!!! What's going with this cycle?! I'm not a fan :(

Jumping on to join this thread. I am on CD 1 today. This is my first AF since I lost my second daughter at 20 weeks in June. I am currently taking provera to induce this cycle and it's thankfully worked. I'll be taking Clomid day 3 to 7 and trigger shot to hopefully drop egg at ovulation if my body cooperates this first cycle. I've been warned that my body might not ovulate this month bc it's my first after the miscarrage.
I've been doing LE since my loss and started cardio a month after roughly.

Hi Robin! Second shannshaff that hoping your ttc is a short one! Fx for this cycle!
Abc is the doctor you see an ob? I would hope he'd prescribe clomid as well to treat a short lp but if not (and if he isn't an ob or RE, FS etc) can you ask for a referral to one? I wouldn't worry about twins too much. I don't think I've seen twins conceived by anyone on here that used clomid. I'm sure there would be but I don't believe at all that its 'common'.

ABC- That's definitely a positive! When you posted yesterday, I had a feeling you would get your BFP today!
The reason your temp dipped is because the blastocyst was implanting causing your temp to dip. Your temp now should stay elevated with normal dips here and there but nothing below your coverline!

I have a headache today too and low dull back ache on my left and still the ovary twinges.
happylea - Yea for opk time! Do you typically ovulate around the same time?
Mommy I forget are you not doing opks/temps this time?

Abc! Everything is going to be great momma!!
Just going with the flow. E4d these next two cycles, then will move on to e3d the third cycle. No temping and no opks. Not sure if I'll start temping later or not. As I like knowing when I ovulated and when af is about to show her ugly face. I like the nonstress of not temping and using opks.

ABC - have you done another test today? I'm sure the twinges will just be baby settling in.
Last time I was ttc my cycles were never the same length and ovulation day also varied depend on length of cycle.
Last month cycle was 34 days with +OPK on Cd20.
Mommy - the more relaxed approach works for you this month
Had a day in the garden with the boys today, we have our niece over also for a sleepover. Just sat grabbing a quick brew watching the wild rabbits at the bottom while I can before getting kids dinner sorted.
Hope you are all well xxx

Happylea - I did 2 more tests this morning :) The line on the FRER was darker (not super dark still but def darker than yesterday) and I did a First Response digital and it was positive! So there's definitely a little bean in there!
However - I am spotting a little again. It started last night and is just a little bit and not there every time I go to the bathroom. And I still feel pretty crampy. Also had a small dip in temp today - although I'm out of town with a one hour time difference so I wonder if that has to do with it. I'm also suddenly breaking out with zits a lot! And I'm really tired and have had an off and on headache. So who knows.
I'm probably going to call the doc on Monday to make my first appt and ask about the spotting. I'm guessing if it continues he'll want to see me before 8 weeks but who knows.

Hey ladies, I hope you don't mind me chiming in! I've been upadting myself with all the BFPS. Congrats to all those who got their BFPS and wishing everybody the best. I'm currently in my 2WW, I'm 10DPO and I'm experiencing slight nausea, right side twinges which I usually get for ovulation. AF is due next Friday! I'm not sure if I should just wait for her to show up or go ahead and test.. how many days past ovulation can we get a fairly accurate pregnancy test??

Many women around here take it at 10dpo, so if you get a frer early response you could do that. Do not get discouraged though, as it is very early. As for me, I'm waiting the day of or day after af is due so I can read it on a digital and won't be guessing at lines.

Afya there's always a chance until af shows. Implantation generally takes place between 6-10dpo but can happen later. You'd see a faint line on an frer 2-3 days after implantation. When is af due?

Mommy, where are you up to?
Well, as for me, the boys and I came back from camping on Saturday and then I got a positive opk finally!! So I drove two hours with the boys to come and see daddy [emoji6] he's working near the seaside so it's been a nice trip. Anyway, managed to get an attempt in. Not brought thermometer so no idea if I've O'd or not. And just weighed myself and realised I've put 5lb on over the summer [emoji33]That can't be good for a girl sway [emoji23]

afya if you got a pos opk 10/11th then you may only be 9 or 10dpo. Most people o the day after pos opk so the second day after pos opk is considered 1dpo. Alot of women o two days after pos opk as well so you may even only be 8/9dpo. Good luck with the testing [emoji3] will you keep testing now or wait a couple days?

Yay Mommy and Mummy for getting your attempts in!!! Hoping we get to see two more BFPs soon!!! Mommy you've been doing so great on the diet & exercise, plus having the Clomid, that if you are pregnant it's still going to be a great pink sway, even w/ more attempts!
Well I called doctor today and am going in for betas today and on Wednesday. My spotting has stopped and so has the cramping but I woke up with strong pain in my whole back today. It may have just been travel related as we came home from our trip today or I slept wrong or something. But I just feel really nervous and on edge right now so I'm glad they're going to get betas. What also is freaking me out is that the lines don't seem to be getting much darker - every test I have taken has said positive (including FR digital two days ago & Clear Blue digital today), but I feel like by 14 DPO with my boys I had stronger, clearer lines that showed more progression. And then while I KNOW this shouldn't be my top concern, the light lines/slow progression is making me think that maybe this bub is a boy, since HCG levels are normally higher with girls right? So that's making me feel things! :worry: I think I just feel more emotional in general right now - guess I'll start blaming the hormones!

Wow! We are maintaining it every other day after atomic's advice now ;)
Followed 6 weeks of diet and 3 weeks of supplements and exercise. Hope it will help my sway. Fx

Wow that's a beautiful dark line. Congratulations <3Thanks, Samish. I got my blood results today and they weren't good, so this may not be my sticky bean :( we'll see.
Yay for being 5dpo!!!! When will you start testing?

Abc what was your result? Also one blood draw doesn't really tell you anything its the second draw that will tell you if numbers are doubling. Hang in there! I know how horrid being in limbo is so big hugs xxoo Your continued spotting and deep back ache aren't great signs but they do not definitively mean the pregnancy isn't going to make it. Only your second blood test will tell you that and I'm hoping with everything you get a good result to put your mind at ease [emoji173] I'd prepare for the worst but hope for the best, that's the only way I could deal with the limbo each time. Positive sticky thoughts your way [emoji173]

Pbn - thanks :) My hcg was 66 and progesterone was 9 yesterday at 14 dpo. Atomic thinks with that low of a prog level it's probably not a viable pregnancy. I'm getting a 2nd blood draw tomorrow.
The spotting and cramps/ backache have stopped. I had a low grade fever last night and don't have much of an appetite right now (probably more stress related since getting bfp!). But otherwise I don't really feel pregnant right now.

I'm sorry Abc [emoji853] what did your doc/ob say about the progesterone result? Can they not give you something in case its just the progesterone that's the issue or is that just delaying the inevitable? I guess you wont know more until next results... This sucks [emoji853] but hang in there! Pregnancy can be a roller coaster in itself and come back swinging even when you think all is lost xxoo

Ok quick question, so I just got my postive opk, but I know tomorrow it will be blazing, I usually get postives for 3 days in a row. So should I get my 3 attempts in tonight? Or tomorrow? I'm going to get at least ine bd in tonight, but I'm almost sure atomic would tell me to get 3 bds in tonight, but I'm not sure. Someone please help
