Firstly, I apologize if you have seen this in a different place IDK where to post thing. Sorry if this is the wrong place...
So I think my diet is so off that it wont matter this month. I will try and be better at the LE diet but I want ttc this month so what can I do to increase my chances to sway pink this month without the diet or is it to late? I spotted twice (after BD only) on days 27th and 31st of July period due Aug first, came Aug 2nd. Bright red then got dark with clots. normal period for me is 29 day cycle lasting 4 or 5 days this period was more like 6 days but the last day was pretty much gone. I think it was a chemical pregnancy. Will this throw my ovulation off this month? I should ovulate on the 15th I think... when should we DTD? how often? I was told my best chances of getting pregnant would be to BD every other day for 10 days but how often should DH and I BD to sway pink this month? As soon as I get a positive OPK? So new to this... Should we use sylk lube? My fertile window is suppose to be from the 11th to the 17th with the 15th being O day.... M OPK's seem to have a few days that have two lines... Should we BD as soon as I see a hint of a line on my OPK then not again till O day is over? Do I even make sense? So new to this and in desperate need of help asap! Also where do I find the LE diet do I need to buy it? Thanks!

I doubt it was a chemical pregnancy because AF was one day longer. Your cycles can vary. If you really do not want to do the diet, then do one attempt at pos OPK or BD every four days. Multiple attempts sway blue so stick with one attempt if that's the only thing you're doing. The OPK is positive when the test line is as dark as or darker than the control line. The LE diet is free. You can find the info in the TTC a Girl forum or in Atomic's signature. If you want a custom plan or access to the private forums, there's a fee for that.

Agreed. Just one attempt in fertile window is really the only last minute strategy you can incorporate. One attempt at +opk (usually a day before O).

The reason I thought it might have been a CP was because I spotted twice before my period which has never happened to me and because my period was a little heavier than normal with a lot of clots. I usually only have to use regular tampons but had to super due to the increase. I am trying to do that diet just struggling with the logistics. I would love to find a list of foods with serving sizes as well as fat totals and so on.. is there anything like that on this page? Thanks for you knowledge I really appreciate it. Should we use SYLK when we BD? Jump and dump? Wait 1o mins? missionary position? no O for me? any advice would be greatly appreciated!

The most important thing you can do this month is have ONE attempt.
Positive OPK is when the test line is as dark or darker than the control line. A faint line is NOT POSITIVE, it is negative, and believe it or not your husband could get lines like that if he peed on one of them.
BD every other day will sway strongly blue and should be avoided.
The best day to conceive is the first day of positive OPK.
Unless you had a positive pregnancy test, we cannot know if that was a chemical pregnancy or just a weird cycle. It is totally normal for periods to vary by a day and for some to be heavier than others.
LE Diet is here: Low Everything Diet - Nutshell Version (http://genderdreaming.com/forum/trying-to-conceive-a-girl/16780-low-everything-diet-nutshell-version.html)

Your best bet is going to be looking on the labels of the foods you buy and/or using a site like Self. com or My Fitness Pal that has lots of info about lots of different foods. We do have some things like that in the Dream Members section and also in the 21 Day Diet book (available for sale in Membership and Plans section) but overall I realized it's better to let the nutrition sites handle that kind of thing and on this site we'll do gender swaying instead of trying to reinvent the wheel and become a nutrition site too. :)
Sylk is up to you, it hasn't seemed to add anything to our success rats and cuts odds of concepiton. But many do still want to try it.
J and D has seemed to add some % of higher success, most will wait 5 minutes.
I doubt positions really help, many have used woman on top for swaying. Avoid doggy as that may sway blue (probably does nothing, but that's the theory)
YOu are supposed to avoid Big O for you as much as possible but again that's one thing that may not do a whole lot. I have a rather silly essay on the subject here: to O, or no? Orgasms and swaying (http://genderdreaming.com/forum/gender-swaying-general-discussion/27912-o-no-orgasms-swaying.html)

Thank you! Should we abstain from BD from now until a positive OPK? Also how long after positive OPK should we abstain? I have also been charting my BBT for the past few months and was wondering when I see the temp drop how long till O day? Is it usually the next day? Also should I be taking baby aspirin? Thank you! Any other advice would be great! Our attempt is in four days or so. Also I read something about lime tampons? What are these?

Ph doesn't matter in terms of swaying. It's one of those things that if it ends up too off from what is normal, it could end up killing off sperm.

I have really given up baby aspirin except for those who are using it under advice of a doctor or those I really cannot deter from the idea. The risks and side effects both for you and an unborn baby were much greater than originally thought and it did not work anyway.
I can't give you specific advice on if you should abstain or not without a Custom Plan. Most guys under 35 are fine to abstain. I'm not quite following your question on how long after positive OPK to abstain?? Do you mean when is it safe to have sex again without protection, or do you mean for your sway??
Once your temp rises the egg is dead but you need 3 consecutive days of high temps to prove that. You can't tell when you'll O after the temp drop. Often it is that very day, but not always, and that's why we need to see the 3 consecutive days of high (above coverline) temps to prove that we have Oed. unfortunately we can really only know that in retrospect.
We really don't use the lime tampons any more but if you MUST the directions are here: https://genderdreaming.com/forum/ttc-a-girl-best-practices/866-guide-douching-ttc-pink.html?866-Guide-to-Douching-TTC-Pink=

Probably not, and most of us have pH opposites to prove it (myself included.) The pH Pickle (http://genderdreaming.com/forum/gender-swaying-general-discussion/11684-ph-pickle.html)

Thank you Atomic for getting back to me! Ok no baby aspirin! I have read so much information and its hard to know what to follow so thank you for your knowledge!
Sorry for not being clearer but yes my question is after the attempt when is it safe to have unprotected sex again?
Also I told you that I should ovulate on the 15th which is tomorrow but I don't think that will be the case. I think I will ovulate more likely on the 17th or 18th. This morning I got my first flashing smiley on a digital OPK and a really really light line on my cheap dip OPK. We have not DTD since the 10th... Should DH release on his own or With me with protection or should it be ok to wait a few more days then just have our one attempt on the positive OPK?
One attempt on positive OPK is making me really nervous. I feel like everything I have read says that you should BD 2-3 days before ovulation. Is there some info on this page about one attempt on positive OPK?
I read the information on the lime tampon and if I decide to do that do you leave it in the applicator when you put it in?? It says check your PH every 30 minutes then after 4 hours take the tampon out. My question is, do I put in a new lime tampon every 30 minutes or am I using the same one some how?
Is there anything else you can tell me without a custom plan to help me improve this attempt? Thank you for all the advice you have given me so far it has been truly appreciated!
I am trying to convince my husband on getting a custom plan but it has been a losing battle so far. At this point he just wants us to have a baby and doesn't care what it is since this is month 3 with no luck. I know that that's not that long but for us it seems like forever since all our others were conceived pretty easily. We have three boys and I really want to do all I can to say I tried to sway and if its another boy then we have another boy but I want to at least try.
Thanks for everything!

AT least 4 days after the attempt and please always keep in the back of your mind it is possible for your body to gear up to ovulate and then not ovulate, so you may still be fertile.
Whichever option you prefer. if you want an abstain, he'd not release, if you don't care about abstain (it hasn't worked and does cut odds of conception) have him release one time now (on his own or with you with a condom) to "clean the pipes" so there's a nice fresh batch to greet the egg.
I know everyone loves their timing but most of us on here have 2-3-4 or more timing opposites. The full case against timing is here: The TROUBLE with timing! (http://genderdreaming.com/forum/gender-swaying-general-discussion/7691-trouble-timing.html) You are more than welcome to aim at a 2-3 day cutoff if you prefer, I understand it's a lot easier to give up on timing after you've gotten boys, plural with it as I and many others have LOL. The important thing (and I can't stress this enough) is that you have one attempt. Don't BD 2-3 times 2-3 days before O!! 2 and especially 3 attempts has swayed strongly blue, so have that attempt when you want but only one. I know it's hard when you've been trying a while to keep that one attempt, but I really, really, really, really want to urge you to ditch things like lime tampons before you add attempts, because the one attempt has been an unexpected but key discovery that has really helped improve success rates.
You leave it in the applicator as you make it but then you insert it like a normal tampon. You test the pH without ever removing the tampon, if I recall (it has been ages since anyone did lime tampon). If you do prefer to take it out, I think you'd need to make a new one because I can't imagine it would cooperate about going back in. ;)
My main concern is that lime tampon cuts odds of conception hugely and so I honestly hate to see anyone use it, especially if you've been trying more than 1-2 months and your hubs is getting impatient. I do understand that feeling of wanting to leave no stone unturned; the trouble is that these kind of "kitchen sink" type sways (doing everything but the kitchen sink LOL) can actually harm your sway because it makes you very "control-freaky" and having to manage all these details all the time, and something about that sways blue. So personally, my 2 cents, for whatever it's worth, is to skip the lime tampon and stick with the timing + one attempt.

Thank you once again Atomic! Having someone to ask question is seriously the only thing keeping me sane right now lol! I am trying to dial back a bit and not stress so much but its hard. Lots of hot baths anf relaxing music
I will stick with the one attempt at positive OPK with no lime tampon and hope for the best. Our youngest is 10 month so I feel like if I can get pregnant in the next 8 months that would be great but the hubs wants it to be sooner.
What do you mean by my body could gear up to ovulate but not but still be fertile? Could I not get a positive OPK and still get pregnant?
Is it better to have fresh swimmers or just keep with the abstain? Are you saying abstain decreases the odd of conception if so how?
After we DTD my plan is to wait 5-10 mins then jump and dump(this just means stand up and use the bathroom right?). Is it better to do it sooner rather than later? 5 vs 10?
Also I have not had any ovulation cramps yet and it is making me nervous... is there a reason I might not be getting the cramps this month? Also my CM has been almost non existent. Very creamy and kind of chunky... sorry if thats TMI! My OPK line was really light this morning but a tiny bit darker than yesterdays.. I first thought that I would ovulate today but I feel like I'm not even close.. any thoughts? Thanks!
Oh and I have been drinking Crystal light lemonade is that ok?
Ok I am really confused... I'm not sure why I haven't ovulated yet. Yesterday I had some cramps on my right side as well as my lower back. I had a stretchy clump of CM discharge last night but this morning my OPK test was lighter than yesterdays? I haven't had a temp drop yet though... Could I just be off and it might come in the next day or two? IDK what to do... Every part of me is screaming to just BD so I don't miss this window but I really want to wait till positive OPK. Also when is the best time to do a OPK? a.m. p.m.? and if I ever do get a positive OPK is it ok to wait till the evening or do we need to DTD as soon as I see a positive OPK?

Sometimes your body starts to ovulate and will even have the surge (and you can detect this on OPK) and then somewhere along the way, for whatever reason (diet, stress, sickness, etc) it kind of decides "nah, not yet" so you think you have ovulated but you didn't. And the opposite is also true - you can not get a positive OPK simply because it never reaches the proper concentration in your urine (but it has in your blood!! which is what triggers ovulation, not urine) and so you don't detect the surge, but it has happened and your body releases an egg which can be fertilized.
Better in terms of what??? Swaying, or conception?
Abstain suppresses sperm production and some of the sperm in waiting will die or become weak/unhealthy over the course of time so it cuts odds of conception in two ways both of which cut back on sperm count.
Yes that's fine, I prefer J and D after at least 5 minutes as immediate J and D has really cut odds of conception to nothing.
People's cycles change when swaying. People stop having symptoms they've always had and start having symptoms that are totally new to them. It is possible (even likely) that your ovulation is still a few days out, having maybe been delayed.
I don't think Crystal Light does anything but if you want to use it, totally up to you. I prefer you guys stick to the "approved by FDA for pregnancy" intake of 2-3 12-/16 oz servings a day and no more than that.
When deciding when to attempt, an early attempt has a shot but a late attempt doesn't. So I'd have an attempt now, it will cover you for at least 2 days, and then on the 4th day, have another attempt. If you're on the 3rd day and you get a positive OPK and you can't decide whether to attempt or not, flip a coin and do what the coin says.

Ok so DH had a release on the 15th I started cramping on the 16th and we BD on the evening of the 17th. I woke up this morning to a darker OPK but still not a positive. Now I'm worried we DTD to soon! I had flashing smileys from the 14th - 17th and this morning it was a solid smiley (using the digital clearblue OPK).. was our one attempt to soon? I also J and D after about ten mins. I'm worried that because DH had a release on the 15th that the sperm count might have been low on the 17th... I have a feeling that in the morning I will wake up to a positive OPK if thats the case is O day tomorrow or the next day? If it's the next day than that means we BD on the 17th and O day is the 20th... is that to far out?
This is random and probably TMI but can you get constipated around O time?
If my OPK is positive tomorrow should we BD again? I feel like that would be way to close together..
Any thoughts would be great!

From 15th to 17th is plenty of time for sperm to recover.
You will O an average of 24-36 hours after first positive, I can't pin it down any closer than that.
Let's just go ahead and attempt again on the 20th. that way, you're covered (even though I think you will have Oed by then if you haven't already!)
Test pic does not look positive but it may have been that the Clearblue was correct, and these ones just aren't detecting the surge. OPK can suck sometimes.
Yes totally normal to be constipated around O.

Well, the thing is, it takes fully fertile people doing nothing to sway, an average of 3-6 months to conceive. If you've gotten pregnant sooner previously it was good fortune and not a guarantee that it would always be that way. Some months just aren't THE month. And that's a pretty early test anyway, so you never know, you may not be out.
if you're getting AF, you're ovulating. Everyone jumps to the conclusion that somehow not conceiving means they aren't even ovulating but virtually always, AF = ovulation occured.
Tell me everything you did this month and I'll tell you what to tweak! :)

When did you start testing with OPK???
It's totally possible to get false negatives on OPK - you don't get a positive, but you still surge and release an egg. Sometime switching brands can help.

I convinced my hubby over the weekend that as long as we can conceive in the next 7 months we'll be on track with our family plan. That has taken some of the stress off! So I wake up and usually around 9 or 10 I havr a soda or some crystal light but I don't eat until about 12. My lunch is usually some pasta with veggies and sauce then I dont eat again until about 6 then I have some rice with sauteed spinach some bread and some other veggie usually broccoli then aroynd 8 or 9 I have an apple with peanut butter. I am going to start adding an hour of cardio either jogging or walking 4 times a week. I have cut out milk and pretty much all meat since those are both things I love and use to eat a lot of. The weekends are SO hard for me but if I'm going to cheat I usually have sushi.. can I eat potatoes? what are some really good foods to have on this diet I'm starting to get tired of what I've been eating.

What all comes with that? I'm a little worried about my sodium intake as well... is top ramen ok to eat? I need to find better meals to make it's just hard I make 3 different dinners almost every night. One for the hubby, one for the kids, then whatever I an eating.

You will almost certainly be pregnant in 7 months so please don't feel too much pressure. We have an average of 3 months to conception on this site and that includes people doing super strict sways.
YOu don't need to totally cut out milk and stuff, just stick in the limits. Cutting back too far can make you stop ovulating.
Yes you can have potatoes. The idea that potatoes are some sort of magic boy food makes NO sense (and I can explain the flaw in the reasoning if you'd like). My daughter is like 30% potato.

Also I bought the $20 membership but I still cant access the private forums? It also says that it comes with 5-days of Meals for TTC PINK as well as Foods to consume and avoid for TTC a Girl. Where can I find this? Thanks!
I'll message someone who can help with this. In the meantime try logging out and then logging back in again.

I started my OPK'S at the begging of my fertile window so I do them for about a week and I do them first thing in the morning. If I do a custom plan do you tell me what to eat and when? What all comes with that? I'm a little worried about my sodium intake as well... is top ramen ok to eat? I need to find better meals to make it's just hard I make 3 different dinners almost every night. One for the hubby, one for the kids, then whatever I an eating.

The custom plans are everything BUT diet. Then I help you with your diet in a day to day, ongoing fashion in the custom coaching forums (it works a lot better that way.) wE do also have a 21 day diet book you can order with the plan if you like but you don't need to. Totally up to you.
Virtually all of us have given up on sodium. It makes no biological sense and it is way easier to stick to diets if you don't limit it. And our results have only gone up since we did.
Top Ramen is at your discretion, I think it's fine for pink as there is not much nutrition in it but it is pretty salty. If limiting sodium is important to you (and it wasn't to me, since I got a boy limiting sodium and turned around and ate tons of it to get my girl!) then you would obviously not want to eat much of that.

We ended up dtd 2 day before ovulation which was the 17th and again on the 20th. I waited 10 mins both times then used the bathroom. We also used the tiniest but of SYLK on the 17th but no douche.

It probably just wasn't the month - I'd probably lose the Sylk eventually but you can give it a try for another month if you so desire.

I still have some on occasion but not nearly as much. I have been drinking organic 0% milk at dinner time but thats about it. Glad to hear I can have potatoes so thanks again Atomic!

Do you think its to late for a custom plan? Is there like a 3 month option?

Do you think next month we should do one attempt at positive OPK again since I kind of botched it this last month? Or should we try the every 4 day method?
Also AF is 3 days late and I tested this morning with a cheap dip stick but it was BFN.. does this mean my O day this last cycle was later than I thought? Just trying to get ready for our next attempt. Thanks!

Yes, your O day was later.
I can't make that decision for you. Personally I think one attempt is better but it seems to cause so much trouble for people, e4d is definitely easier. Totally your call to make.

Its usually pretty normal maybe late a day or 2 but 3 is a little weird for me? How can I do better at tracking O day?

There's lots of reasons why AF can be late - diet, exercise, taking herbs, new vitamins (especially ones with high doses of B6), illness, lack of sleep, and even just the stress of TTC and thinking about it can sometimes delay O!
This may have just been a weird cycle - if your present method of tracking O has worked in the past I'd probably just stick with it. Or you can do every 4 days instead.

When should I start doing OPK'S this month and for how long? I just want the best chance at catching O day and I feel like my cycles are all over the place. Could a low cal intake affect my cycle? Maybe that could be why AF was late? Is ok to have the occasion energy drink when swaying? Thanks!

Also I'm really curious how much my husbands diet is affecting ttc? He olny eats once a day during the week (dinner which I make) all the others meals during the day he drinks protein. He lifts weights everyday except Saturday and Sunday and also usually eats a bit more on these days. He is willing to change things if he needs to so any suggestions would be great. Should he start eating 3 meals a day again? Take supplements? Thanks!

e4d is new and I don't have as much confidence in it as I do in one attempt but it has worked for quite a lot of people.
I'd start OPK CD 8-10 and that way usually you can see it start off negative and go to positive.
Yes too low a cal intake can definitely affect ovulation. Try adding in a serving of full fat dairy every day and 4-6 eggs a week to keep ovulation going.
Yes the occasional energy drink is ok when swaying.
DH's diet does not seem to affect swaying in the same way ours does (probably since we need to carry a baby for 9 months!) And your husband's diet would probably sway pink anyway - I would have him do soy shakes if at all possible as that may sway pink.
I can't suggest supplements without the custom plan (too many health issues and interactions for me to say) None of our supplements for DH have gotten great results - soy shakes may help. Some guys take olive leaf extract but without more info I can't say if that is right for your hubby or not - only if he is not on any medication and without health issues.
I'll message again about your membership.

So besides staying on the LE diet and having one attempt at positive OPK is there anything else I should add? I have added cardio. I take my two youngest on a walk in the morning for about 45 minutes. Does that work ok for cardio or should I start trying to jog? I think I will cut out the SYLK this month. Also is it ok to carry on with sex as normal until we are in the fertile window? Once we are in our window is when we should stop and just have the one attempt at positive OPK right?

Walking is great for cardio. If at all possible to stretch that to 60 minutes, even better.
Some people would not want to BD unprotected at other points in the cycle out of fears that the semen's pH or possibly hormones may affect your sway negatively. But i've seen plenty of people do that and still get girls (myself included) so I don't believe it sways much if at all. Totally up to you!! Remember the cardinal rule of swaying - "if daddy ain't happy, ain't nobody happy" meaning that if you are too strict with your hubby and swaying, they tend to rebel and won't do anything so it is best to focus only on the stuff that actually sways by a lot.

For swaying or to boost odds of conception?
If for swaying, the conventional wisdom is not to have one. If for boosting odds of conception, just have one with your one attempt or e4d method.
