This is the interstate through my town right now! 🤣 these people are trying to get 1.5 hours south of me..... don't think that's going to happen before the eclipse starts in 7minutes!
My plan to lay the little ones down and watch in peace and quiet lol not like they'll remember anyways plus it's going to be a total here again in another 7 years. But on another note if this heat doesn't give in soon i might very well have a heat stroke!

Ok, I obviously have not done my research, but why is everyone saying this is a once in a lifetime event if it's happening again in several years?
Max - you hanging in there on bedrest? I'd be going crazy!! Were girls ok with missing Disney? Or did they know?
So I'm 15+ weeks and already get sooo full so fast. Is this bc it's my 3rd? Anyone remember this happening faster and faster each pregnancy? It's like I eat a 1/2 sandwich and chips and I'm stuffed but I wanna eat more bc well you know I'm pregnant [emoji23] Also, isn't it crazy that I can go from food being my worst enemy to wanting to eat everything in site?! Pregnancy is so weird and I'm already getting sad this is my last time!!

OMG Ash that traffic jam!! haha bet the people driving down the other side are feeling smug with themselves ;) nothing worse than sitting in traffic.

kat slightly off the topic of your post but its amazing how our normal (non-swaying) eating habits have such a big influence on the genders we have, you sound like your naturally (without swaying) very girl friendly :) i would never have put my 4 boys down to me picking at food here and there all day because i couldnt stomach big meals.. amazing what swaying teaches you!

to all of you in the US enjoy the eclipse :D sounds like it will be an amazing thing to watch!!

4b2p - I know!! I don't like feeling full, it's weird but promise I don't have an eating disorder [emoji5] The HE diet was so uncomfortable for me and I was only on it 4 weeks, which longer is recommended. I just had no idea I'd fall pregnant so fast.

no i get it kat i hate feeling full too!! but i fell into the habit of having a couple of mouthfuls here and there throughout the day to avoid having to eat meals in one go, im not a big eater and never was, i also never eat a lot of the HE foods (red meat, nuts, avocado, veg juices etc..) i basically shot myself in the foot by spreading my food intake out over the whole day instead of just putting it into 2 normal size meals, i dont do breakfast, last time i did i was about 8!!

in all honesty i think id really struggle with the diet if i was here swaying blue, i know that must sound daft haha but i cant cope with big portions and alot of what you guys are eating and drinking for best results is stuff id never want to go near :-/

Kat, because where people live they may not get to see a total solar eclipse or close to one. Where Ash and I live, we are fortunate to have another one in 2024 close to where we live. Sadly, after that we won't unless my children move somewhere exotic!

Thank you everyone for all your kind and encouraging messages! It actually made me feel surrounded by love and replaced the loneliness I'm feeling. Your thoughts and prayers made me cry even more, but in a good way. Dealing with all of this feels extremely hard. Loss is so hard for me because we didn’t just "lose a baby" we lost a lifetime. We lost all of the plans, dreams, and hopes we had for this life with this little person. I don’t know how to let myself grieve. I’m scared to be vulnerable and just cry, because I don’t want my kids to see how broken I really am… I cry myself to sleep at night while my kids are peacefully sleeping in their beds. I can’t help but wonder if this was my little girl.. This little girl that never comes..

Can someone tell me how do I move forward without feeling like I'm replacing/forgetting the baby that was never born? When I’m ready to start trying again where do I start? This pregnancy I had zero appetite and lost 15 pounds in these past 3 months. Is all the previous months working up to the original sway lost?

AshFind

NACIRE I do know ttc as soon as you can after m/c sways girl. But wait until your ready. Just get back into the diet and see where it takes you! I took me 3months after my m/c to get a Bfp again and it was emotionally hard I was angry and I took it out on dh because I didn't get pregnant faster but hindsight my anger was probably preventing the Bfp sooner.

Naci I cried to myself at night after my losses it really helps to just cry. It's part of the healing and you always have us to talk to as well. So many hugs to you! It's very unfair! The pain eases it truly does. I kept myself sain by buying things for my future rainbow baby and focusing on my babies. Also pick up a hobby. You will never replace your baby, but it does actually become easier throughout time. You will always have a hole though, but through time it won't hurt as bad. As of right now it feels that it will never get any better, but it truly does.

Hi ladies! Believe it or not with bedrest I've found things to keep me busy. I picked up a from home consulting job (that I can do from bed woohoo) about 20 hours/ week, which has been awesome. My mom taught me how to knit (I made a little blankie for DD2 that she slept with last night, so cute!), I took my acrylic paints out and started painting again, and I now am an expert on any show on Bravo (for you ladies in the US). Not ideal because I miss normal life and the gym soooo bad, but I guess trying to do the best I can. I started spotting brown over the weekend and it isn't stopped, so I'm back to laying down in my bed or on the sofa, and my parents took the girls for several nights so I'm able to just rest. I go to the OB tomorrow and hoping to see baby.

Nacire, we are all here for you!!! Your words brought tears to my eyes. I can only imagine the lost hopes, etc, but that doesn't mean that you can't (and won't) have that girl... XX told me once that it just takes longer for some babies to come to us (she can word it much more beautifully). You will have your healthy baby! [emoji175]

Catching up on old posts...

Sunbal, hope the tech was wrong and that it's your boy! However glad to hear that baby is healthy.

Bluebooties, about the four kids and feeling bad on missing time with them. As one of four, I definitely had that feeling with my mom (who was super woman and worked full time, baked every meal from scratch, never lost her patience, and was just insanely loving)...but I did and do still feel that the things I missed out with my mom, I also gained from my sisters, and those to me were just as valuable. When my mom couldn't come to a practice, my sisters would and it meant so much to have them there (and sometimes cooler than your mom hehe). Just saying that yes, it's hard as a parent, but they also get so much from their siblings that's also so precious.

4blue, thank you for such kind words about my sway and helping you feel you were doing the right thing for your kids with additional siblings. Wow, so amazing to hear that!!! Thank you! [emoji175]

Kat, I seriously feel like you're my long lost twin. [emoji23] DH and I talked about adopting if we ever want to have another. We actually looked into it this year when it was taking us a while to get pregnant. Such an amazing thing to do!! I'm so excited to hear that you're happy with boy or girl. I've gotten into the same mindset. I've seen DH with little boys lately and it makes my heart melt. So happy either way as long as baby is healthy! And to your comment on being full so quickly, yes!!! Totally me lately and it sucks. I also feel like I'm showing big time and I'm only 8 weeks. [emoji85] I didn't show at all until 6 months with DD1. I'm embarrassed to even take a pic because I have a naturally small frame and I feel huge already!! And the girls didn't know we were going to Disney, so we're keeping that in our back pocket for another time. Well just do beach time together that week. Will be perfect. [emoji4]

Also, I wanted to add this in, especially since I talk about the closeness of my family so much and I see similar bonds with friends who were raised the same way. For what it's worth, I wanted to share something about my mom. Both sides of my grandparents are holocaust survivors, lost most of their family members, and were brought up with very little. My mom has 2 brothers, one that she's close with, and one that she doesn't speak with. My dad has one brother who he also does not speak with often. I often think it was for this reason that my mom was extra sensitive to having us grow up close, especially as four girls (despite the almost 10 years between us). I can remember her constantly telling us that "we are all that we have" in this world and despite what happens in life, "we will always be there for each other no matter what". Those were recurring themes in our home, and when one sister was going through something, she gently encouraged and guided us to help one another. We all jokingly say that she brainwashed us to love each other, but she really did encourage us over and over to be there for one another. As kids, we were, but now we are closer than you could ever imagine. I'm trying to bring up my girls the same way, and would do so regardless of gender, but I wanted to pass that along in case any of you had similar (or different) upbringings. I truly believe my moms guidance formed our bond that I'm not sure would otherwise be as strong.

End of rant... :)

Max I love this! Dh and I left our very small town of 3k and moved to Baton Rouge, la for work for a short term and we debated on staying! We absolutely loved it ❤️ but we were all we had so we came back to this small town with nothing to be with family. I recently told him I'm ready to go whenever you are and he asks why now? I say we have built our own empire with 5 kids we are all we need and can raise our boys how we want. But then again we never will more than likely we're to chicken. Even though I hate the fact there's barely any jobs in Illinois and it's a very broke state right now [emoji53]

I do something similar! I am an only child from a mom with an unmedicated personality disorder. When my children treat each other badly I tell them that being friends with your siblings is a choice. If they keep treating each other this way, one may chose not to be friends with the other anymore. How would that make you feel? They typically say sad and then they knock it off for awhile. My boys are all super close and look out for each other when not at home. I see how they will end up just as close when adults. Kids are kids and sometimes aren't nice. It's how they make-up and how they are most of the time that matters. I believe closeness of siblings is in part personalities clicking well and how the culture is at home. It also comes down to their choice and interests as they get older. Time will tell, but I see how they will continue their friendship.

My dad is from a 3 boy family and says my boys remind him of his relationship with his brothers all the time. It warms my heart and I sure hope so!

Nacire-I've only been through a chemical, but certainly understand those feelings of hopes and dreams for the future. I'm sure you're feeling very overwhelmed at the moment, but take care of yourself & give yourself time to grieve. You'll always wonder what could've been and never forget about this baby, but taking each day at a time & living in the moment with your kiddos will help you with the healing process. Kids have a natural way of brightening things and are good at sensing your pain. I will say a prayer for you for comfort, healing and positive things to come your way in the future. Max & Kat-as you both know, I have 2 boys, but besides snacking, I've never been on the HE diet. I don't like feeling overstuffed either. When I was first preggo, I felt like a bottomless pit...which is NOT my usual! These days, I'm def feeling full a lot faster!!!! Every meal feels like Thanksgiving dinner haha.
I'm sorry I haven't popped in here as often...I've had a miserable cold, back to the busy work schedule & lots of family for the eclipse. I have to say, it was a pretty cool experience to see it go completely dark for a few minutes!! Gave me chills!! Ha ash! How cool!! What is your due date?

Awww Lola, feel better! Being sick when pregnant is awful. I feel like I'm so much more susceptible to everything lately.

Xx, love hearing that! I agree it's a choice, and also completely agree that personality is the most important factor. By the way, omg you're getting soooo close! How are you feeling?

Pbn, thinking of you, how are you?

I'm feeling great! Nesting has kicked in so I have tons of energy all of the time. I've been having practice contractions consistently though from 4am-6am. I get so uncomfortable and have to get up and start my day. They go away when I walk my DS1 to school. I had my 34 week appointment today, and she is still measuring 2 weeks ahead! I have 3-5 weeks to go! I got a "vibe" she will come the week of the 17th. Im not sure why, but I feel strongly about that. Who knows though- she may have her own idea!

Nacire – so happy to read that the messages you found here gave you some warmth and support – do feel free to come and chat with us and pour it all out! You don’t want to be left alone in this – it’s such a difficult time, truly is.
So long as there is no medical contra-indication, you should try whenever YOU feel ready – you would not be betraying this angel baby –the best gift you can give yourself and that baby is to allow life to take over – my rainbow baby was the greatest gift in our lives – she is such a delight, I am sure her angel sibling had something to do with her joining us!
You do need to let it out and allow yourself to grieve, and if that means crying yourself to sleep at night, so be it – you can tell your sons that you are sad at the moment, but it’s not because of them, and if anything, that they make you happy! Kids are such kind souls, and I am sure they will be a big part in you getting through this, and they will understand – being brave 24/7 is not doing any of you favours if that means you will break down really hard when you reach a point where you just can’t anymore :hugs: I hope that the physical pain has subsided so as not to add to the rest my lovely.

Oh this eclipse seems to be a big thing in the US! OMG look at that traffic jam Ash!!
How was it, ladies?

Max, can’t wait to hear from you after your OB appointment – and so glad you have found activities to keep you busy! It is difficult for someone that is a bit hyper to slow down, but I can see you even managed to pick up some consulting work you can do live from your bed, so score! :D
What a lovely way you were raised, I can totally see why you are so keen to have a close bond between your kids – I know that regardless of gender this 3rd bub is going to fit right in and be blessed to be part of your tribe!

Sumbal – not sure if I made a comment already but happy to see bub is healthy though sorry you didn’t hear boy – there is still a slight chance you may have your boy but agree 17 weeks is pretty accurate usually. Keep us posted!

XX – so close now – only 3 weeks and you’ll be considered term! Eeek! Am sure you mentioned this before, but did you go early with your boys?

Kat – like you I hate that being stuffed feeling but gee it’s a fine line between not feeling starving (hence nauseous) and not feeling overly full (hence nauseous) – can’t win, can we?! Lol
Like you and Max (and many others ^^), I feel like my tummy is so much bigger than last time already – especially as soon as I eat – I have had a few insistent stares on the belly at work, so not sure if it’s mean that is paranoiac or not :P I think the uterus does pop much earlier with subsequent pregnancies, it’s just not as tight in there anymore ^^ plus more often than not, girls mums are smaller framed so any little weight gain is much more obvious ;) am sure you both look stunning ^^

Lola, hope you’re better soon! Are you back at school now or not yet? I know you mentioned Labor day but no idea when that is haha

Sky are you around?? Missing you!!!

Sorry I missed a heap – one day and bam, I had to literally read in diagonal or wouldn’t had the time to read at all haha

Ok, so was initially going to do the Generation Plus NIPT but they hiked the prices to $695 as of mid-July, and I am not sure whether I can justify to pay an extra $300 just to find out about 3-4 microdeletion syndromes when we have no known risk factors.
PBN I know you did the Generation Plus, do you think it is worth it? It was probably cheaper when you did it too though :( the bonus would be results would be in faster, too, if I just did the basic NIPT as bloods are tested here in Oz, not sent to the US..choices, choices..meaning I have to make up my mind before next week as am 9 weeks this week and would love to have results asap (am just an impatient one haha).
Oh and proud mumma bear moment this weekend – my DD1 has learnt to ride her bike without the training wheels – she was beaming (and it was after I gave her a trick to start on her own that she got it, after her dad and grandpa spent 20 minutes trying to teach her to start without being pushed haha).

Mommy- It usually is a bit chilly so I may stay home with her and pass out candy. We will see though!

Max- I almost have everything ready for her. My DH needs to clear out the crib so I can dust it and get it made. Downstairs where I'll be until I get her on a schedule, I need to set up the pack n play with the newborn napper. I'm waiting until after my DS1's birthday party in 2 weeks. Other than that, I'm set!

Lola- I'll be 40 weeks in 5.5 weeks. They predict she will come in 3-5 weeks, since my DS3 came at 38w2d and she is measuring 2 weeks ahead. I've always "felt" she was going to come the week of the 17th. I can't explain it- I was the same way with my DS3 and no one believed me! She may have her own idea, but I'm wondering if she is sending me the vibes! I feel 34 weeks is bit early to start the pre-labor stuff, but maybe not if she is going to come in 3-4 weeks. I'm just over the colon cleanse already! I mean sheesh, I shouldn't have to start the bowel clearing yet [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23]! I had that happen 3 weeks before my DS3 was born. I'm over it already- 9 times in 24 hours is ridiculous [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23]!!

I understand because here in Ohio it's always a hit or miss on if it will be cold or not during Halloween. Last year the weather was perfect for Halloween. Year before we actually hit a couple of houses then went to Walmart and bought the kids candy. It was that cold!

Nacire - I'm so glad you felt surrounded by others. I agree with others, cry when you need to and if your boys see you upset that's okay too. After my blighted ovum, I was angry, sad and everything all at once. We tried again straight away, but everyone is different xoxo

The total eclipse looks so fun! Lola, love the photo of your boys!

Loving all the family strength, love and friendship. My boys are close too.

LMSM - I had the normal Generation test. I fugre I didn't have anything with my boys and we have no family connections to genetic disorders. I believe PBN3 went with the better one because of her husband's cousin having a child with a genetic disorder.

XX - yay for nesting! Totally love that stage....my poor DH doesn't LOL

Max - Your bed rest is sounding so productive and creative. Hope your appointment goes well and it's shrinking and bubba is growing xo

AFM - Had the genetic blood test today, so should find out the sex by next Tuesday at the latest, but hopefully sooner. I'm less concerned about the sex now and more concerned about a healthy bubba. NERVOUS! My scan isn't until 7th Sept, which seems AGES away.

I'll post my bump pics now too. Keeping track every 2 weeks

Thanks ladies! I'm getting super excited- we all are! I don't have a nursery theme per se. I had one at our old house that was Curious George for the babies room with a mural we painted and a Lorax mural in the room the older boys shared. The room now doesn't really have a wall we could do that. Plus, I'm leaving it neutral for when they get older. We told the children we would do that for them once they settled on which room will be theirs and what they want us to paint for them.

I didn't know it was a thing either Ash until my DS2! It happened also with DS3. For me, it's a weekly occurrence until labor and for one day only. I continue to be regular in pregnancy too so it makes it super uncomfortable for me [emoji13]!

I'm so excited for more of you ladies to find out gender! I can't wait to see more bump pics!

4b2p it comes and goes I have a few good days and a few bad days but the last few days I've felt better and have ate more and more if a variety unfortunately. I really don't want to gain more than 10lbs for the rest of this pregnancy and I still have 20w left. Seems like such a huge challenge but it's so hard to get off after delivery my body likes to hold onto the weight while I'm breastfeeding. And I gained 60lbs with ds3 [emoji32] I sure hope I don't do that again.

Can you walk with your boys to a park or something to get some exercise? I do this 3-4 times a week.

Also try having a salad for a meal. When I snack, it's either a protein bar, cheese stick and triscuits or an apple with a T of peanut butter.

It could be just a growth spurt! I put on 2lbs in 2 weeks and was hoping to stay where I was. I had been the same for 6 weeks so it was bound to happen.

As long as you are doing the best you can, that's really all you can do. I gained 52lbs with my DS3, because I was hungry all the time! Like watching the clock to be able to eat again! Who does that?!? I now know why, he grows at a constant rate (no growth spurts) and eats all the time!

Don't be hard on yourself! Try to do the best you can, when you can!

(((Hugs)))

Ash, did you weigh yourself in the afternoon? Early morning as soon as you wake up is best to weigh yourself. You'll see that even in one day you'll "gain" 2 pounds. Only weigh yourself in the morning and use that to track your weight gain. If you appointment was late in the day or if you just ate it will definitely be off by 1-2 pounds.

AshFind
August 22nd, 2017, 01:10 PM
I weigh as soon as I wake up. I did have a big meal last night so hopefully it'll go back down a bit. But xx I had been the same weight for about 8 weeks so maybe I can justify it a little but I'm overweight to begin with. I'd love to go out and walk but I can't stand the heat and humidity I feel like dying for real. Plus we have bad country roads and I have a crappy double since I sold my other! Hopefully soon I'll have a nice one again and go out. But I do have a treadmill so I don't have any excuse.

Good Morning ladies.

Nac - I am so so sorry to hear of your loss. I am so sorry you are going through all of this on your own. HUGS. Come talk to any of us as you need. we are here. You can PM me if you wish. We lost our ID girls at about the same time frame.

Sum - happy you have a healthy little one but that you did not hear your desired gender. ((HUGS))

Max - Good for you for making so much of your bedrest! I would love a week of i myself after this past weekend! Can't wait to see how the appointment today goes.

Ash - you could have gained so much because of the heat too! Hang in there. You will gain what you need for this little girl.

Sky, Pbn - missing you!!!

LSMS - Good for you in helping DD hit that great milestone!! Awesome.

XX - getting so close now! I have not done anything to prep, so good for you on being mostly done!

Everyone else - I know I missed lots, but just too much going on to remember it all.

AFM - DS4 was sick throwing up all night Friday night and Sat. He was better Sat night and Sunday morning, so too the kids to the fair for the day. It was a long hot day for me, but the kids had fun. I was feeling quite faint at one point from the heat and not drinking enough. Then as soon as we got home, DS4 had a relapse and was throwing up all night again. I ended up taking him to the ER for some Zofran because he could not keep even sips of water down and with him being so little (2yo) I did not want to mess around. They gave us the dis-solvable Zofran that worked wonderful for him! He seems to be on the mend now and we pray no one else gets it as school starts this week! Yikes!!! I have been feeling sick for a few days now, but I have no idea if it is tummy bug or pregnancy related. After spending so much time not eating or sleeping while on "vomit watch" it could be either. I pray that I can feel better after a few days of sleeping at night and less stress.
The kids did get to watch the eclipse yesterday. It was lots of fun. We did not go anywhere, but we were close to totality at 99.8%. It did not get super dark here, but the temp dropped 15-10 degrees. That was cool. Lola - your boys are too cute! BTW.

Hi ladies!! I'm sorry it's been a crazy day and I wasn't able to check in earlier. My kids are out of camp and my parents are here helping and it's been a bit crazy!! The OB appointment went great, got to see baby and the heartbeat was 174 and baby measures one day ahead. Official due date is 3/30. The tech that did my ultrasound said she actually saw two hematomas - the one I've known about, and then another "very small one". The large one is located on the other side of the placenta, so hope that is at least a good thing? Anyway, go back again in four weeks. I'm still spotting and she told me to expect bedrest for at least until after first trimester. DH is losing his mind a little with no sex. [emoji23]

Going to feed girls dinner, will check back in tonight. Hope everyone good!

Nacire hon – just lots of :hugs: thinking of you!

Shann- so sorry your poor boy is so sick, stomach bugs are the worst! Hope he gets better soon little darling!
How are you feeling?

Lola – how cute are your boys – love the matching clothes too – they are just adorable!!

Max – woohoo, great news! As for DH, he’ll learn to deal with the lack of BD and will survive just fine - ;)

Ash – weight gain in pregnancy is not linear – don’t beat yourself up – your baby girl is taking on what she needs to grow and your body is preparing for a breastfeeding journey with that darling daughter of yours ;)

Mommy2apples – thinking of you – I try to read you all on the TWW but admittedly lots of new ladies so can’t quite keep up ;)
I need to find the thread set up for the next DDG so I can check out what’s happening for the other ladies who got their bfps ;)

XXfor hubby – the whole “emptying” of bowels ain’t fun –hopefully that means on D-day you won’t be bothered! ^^ it happened to me only with DD2, as I was in labour – and silly enough because my waters had broken < I was worried she might fall into to the loo lol

Iwant4 – so exciting – you’ll know what’s hiding in there in just under a week! (they say 5-7 days on the website – do you know if that is business days or calendar days though? Can make a difference when you’re anxiously waiting!) – eeeeek :awe: are you still feeling sick or has that eased?
Hubs and I have discussed it, and will do the standard Generation NIPT – which means I can do my blood test sometime next week as the standard b/w can be done Monday to Friday – woohoo! :D soooo

Kat – how are you?

Skyyyyy? Missing you!

PBN, I know you said you would have less time to be here but feel free to drop by for an update! Is bub still moving well, feeling kicks?? :D

This nausea is getting the better of me – constantly feels like – best way to describe it – like I have a pill stuck half way down my throat and you can’t shift it regardless of how much you drink…being on the cusp of wanting to be sick. I said to DH last night that I was on the verge of going to see the doc and ask for some medication – buuuut I am a bit paranoid about that as Dh’s grandmother took Thalotomide (spelling? It’s called Distilbene in French) when expecting her kids (sold at the time as safe though we now know about its’ consequences!) and Dh’s mum had uterus deformities and had massive issues keeping her pregnancies – DH was born very prem (8 weeks early, almost 40 years ago – he was one of the 1st prems to survive being born at that gestation at the time in France)…so any drugs kinda freak me out..sigh – I guess the worse is now and it should ease soon so I should just suck it up eh?! Lol
So in the interim I am snacking constantly – I just had brekkie and am thinking of what I can get down to feel better already (crazy, I know!).

And just over 24hours before the doc appointment and seeing little baby B – eeeeekkkk!! But sooo sooo nervous too!

Iwant4-adorable bump! Ohhh can't wait for you to get your bw results!!! That's coming up so soon!!!
XX-post nursery pics when it's all set!!
Ash-I feel like my 15 week belly is popping out today...I feel like it's much more noticeable than my boys yikes! I haven't weighed recently, but as our last baby, I say we just try not to worry about the weight and enjoy our last pregnancy!! Also could be water weight? My friend said that she gained mostly water weight with her dd that came right off. My plan is to try to stay active & eat in moderation. I am starting to get full quickly though. I think my uterus or baby must run into my stomach!! I totally know what you mean about the heat & humidity ugggh! I was just telling DH that the heat feels much worse for this pregnancy! I feel like I'm melting when I go outside on some days...we did have a heat index of 107 over the weekend!!
Sumbal-I did not go back far enough to see your update! Maybe the tech was wrong if it was a private place that didn't say it with confidence? When will you know for certain?
Shann-hope your poor ds4 is feeling much better with Zofran on board! I really hope you don't get it too. A stomach bug during pregnancy is the worst ugh! Glad you were able to watch the eclipse! I commute about 45 min to work...many of my students & coworkers

Kat I cant believe you're in week 15 already!!! Time is passing so fast! I have days where I graze all all day and others where I eat just a few times. Feeling like I'm putting on weight now though especially the thighs and hips [emoji30]

Nacire big hugs and just take things a day at a time. There's no time limit on getting past a loss, it's something that will stay with you for life BUT the pain will lessen. Hang in there and keep grieving xxoo. We are all here for you.

Maxim wow [emoji50] go you!!!! You are smashing out this bed rest [emoji3][emoji109] congratulations on learning to knit! I used to crotchet many many years ago when I was just a young girl. My mum had a hell of a time teaching me because I'm the only left hander in our family and she had a hard time watching me do it 'back to front' [emoji23] I see you have an obs appt which you've probably already been to and have updated so will get to that part soon (I'm posting in order of previous posts lol)
Oh wow both sides of your grandparents were holocaust survivors!![emoji50][emoji50] oh my what amazing people they must be [emoji173] I try and tell my boys all the time to always look out for one another and that they will be each others best friend in years to come. Definately goes in one ear and out the other for now [emoji23] but hoping it'll stick with them as they grow [emoji170]

Lola great to hear from you! Sorry to hear you've been ill and hope you're feeling better xxoo Glad to see you ladies all enjiyed the eclipse [emoji3]

LMSM hi [emoji847] and holy moly I cant believe the price now of the gen plus [emoji50] I paid $495 for the full testing. There is other companies that do it and cheaper, one is based in Brisbance, I will find a link I was messaged on fb by a friend and post it in here! Just read Iwant4kids post and yeswe decided on the extra testing as my husbands cousin had a t18 (I think that's it) scare. She had to wait until 28 weeks to get a scan done at a diagnostic place in Brisbane but thankfully was given the all clear. It was an awful awful wait for them and something we couldn't imagine doing so decided to go the whole hog :)

Omg xxforhubby how can you be sooooo close [emoji50][emoji50][emoji50] eeeeeekk!!! So exciting!! Cant wait to see your baby girl!

Iwant4kids eeeeeeeeeekk for finding ou gender so soon!!!!!! Awe look at your gorgeous bump [emoji7] love the idea of regular pics! Be sure to keep sharing!

Ash I'm hearing you on the weight gain!! I am not looking for to weighing in at my next appt. I had been going so well maintaining [emoji24][emoji24] My three year old followed me out to the clothsline the other day and said 'mummy, you have a big bum bum' [emoji22][emoji23] I plan on going on the LE diet a few months after bub is born to lose the weight [emoji23]

4blue2pink do you have a pic of your dd's halloween outfit??!! Would love to see [emoji3] she must've been THE cutest 3 week old halloween'er ever!!

Hi Shann [emoji847] gosh what a rough weekend you and ds had [emoji46] so glad he is on the mend and hope both yourself and rest of family manage to avoid getting the bug.

Max yay for the post ob appt update and sorry to hear you're still on bedrest but it will go quick and you'll be back to usual in no time! Dh will be fine! Tell him he'll just have to take things into his own hands for now [emoji23][emoji23]

I know I must have missed some posts and apologies to anyone I did miss out on. I hope you're all well xxoo

Afm - have been getting some really awesome movement [emoji3] Loving it and cant wait for the boys to be able to feel it!! I have my 20w scan next Tuesday!

PBN – So-Gi is where I will get my nuchal scan done on the 19th! (and will get my 20-week scan there too) ;)
My SIL (hubby’s sister so our kids are genetically related since DH and her share genes) actually had a T18 daughter that she had to terminate at that 12-14 weeks mark a couple of years ago, before falling pregnant with DS2 – but I know the basic Gen test will look at T18! But now have just found the Percept test too – not sure if its tests more or not…gosh it’s such a maze! Since I want results for the NIPT asap, I will probably do Generation though, as I can get to a collection centre easier, otherwise would have gone to So-gi…

Yippee for baby moving like crazy, it’s the best feeling – and am so happy for you that you have reached this stage, where you can hopefully start relaxing and realise this is really happening after the long and tough journey to get to this point! :hugs:
Tuesday can’t come fast enough I am sure – they start having chubbier cheeks at that stage and it’s just adoorableeeee!!
Love your DS2 ‘s comment on your allegedly big bum lol mine would say exactly the same haha

Mommy2apples – ooh not long – I am sending you so many positives vibes that this “no stress or monitoring and just going with the flow” cycle pays off with a beautiful BFP!!!! FX!

4Blue2pink – Eclipse is definitely a name you’d remember but like Lola, not my cup of tea lol Celeste or Luna are so much prettier in my view :P
Oooh yes, if you have a pic of your 3-week old DD dressed up for Halloween, would love to see it!

BTW – did I tell you that hubby told me the other day that he thinks bub is girl #3?! He was right with DD1 and 2, so now am nervous he might be this time too – of course, she would be just as welcome and loved beyond words , so I don’t like it that I was a bit stern after he said that, almost defensive “ah well, you have a 50/50 chance either way anyways, and you just happened to guess right for the girls – no big deal” :P hence my needing to know asap what the bean is so I can deal with it!

Lol my husband is always right on the genders of our babies too even when I didn't want him to be! I was always defensive too when he would say well this baby is a boy. Then it broke my heart when we conceived our angels and he told me they were girls before he knew we miscarried!

Ok ladies. I think several of you experienced this early in your pregnancy, but tell me about lightening boob.

I'm getting a sharp sensation from time to time on my left boob. Both nipples are wickedly tender! I'm thinking this has been delayed for me, because I was still breastfeeding my DS3 up until I was 18-19 weeks pregnant. I had to switch to my wireless nursing bras because the sensations are so strong [emoji30]!

How long did you have it? Did it ever happen in just one boob? What, if anything, helped?

Thanks!!

Afm weight must have been from the heat or being backed up or something because I'm back down to just gaining 1lb now? Weird but I'll take it since that's what is the "norm" for 20 weeks on. And I'm getting super excited for my 20w scan coming up on Saturday! Excited to see a chubby baby and some very noticeable girl parts!

Awww mommy, they are soooo cute! Can't believe how fast time is going....8th grader?! Mine are going into K and 2nd and I can't help but be sad about it!

XX, wow never had that before, but it sounds awful!! Ouch! :(

I don't want to put the cart before the horse here, especially with my hematoma, but when the time is right, I need to ask for breastfeeding advice. With DD1, she was an awful nurser, had terrible colic, and the whole ordeal was just traumatic to me. I ended up exclusively pumping for 12 months and hated every minute. With DD2, she was a great nurser, but I think I had some kind of ppd and was very overwhelmed with having a 19 month old and a newborn. I nursed her for 6 weeks before my husband begged me to give her formula so he could help out - so I ended up pumping and formula feeding. This time around, I'm set on making it work! The girls are older, I'll have more time, and I want to give it my best shot. My sister breastfed all her 4 kids for one year each, would love to do the same if I could figure it out! :)

Ash, I've already gained 5 pounds in two WEEKS! I'm typically 110ish and I'm up to 115.2 yesterday at the doctor. I swear my boobs are at least 2 of those pounds, but at this rate I'm going to be huge quickly. This bed rest is not helping...

AshFind
August 23rd, 2017, 12:39 PM
Lol max I was huge and swollen on bed rest but it was the last weeks I was on it. I breastfed all my babies ds4 the longest with him being almost 2 [emoji38]. Ds3 came so early I had to pump and he was fed through a nose tube and then they made me feed him a bottle and he had to drink so much before we could be discharged it was a nightmare for someone determined to nurse. Once we got home I used a nipple shield to kind of imitate a bottle nipple and I eventually got him exclusively back to breast on my own. I was super emotional but I highly recommend getting with a laceration consultant. I'm lucky enough to have an amazing one at my hospital but I know you can hire them and they'll come to your house and taken your call anytime you need help. I highly believe in breastfeeding I know it's not for everyone but it is for me I whip that thing out wherever I am lol I stay modest of course but it's just the best most accomplished feeling once you get past the two months of painful nipples and frustration.

Max - I struggled with DD1 and did great with DD2. My main advice is nurse nurse nurse as much as you can in the hospital and the first couple of weeks. I think that was the main difference is my first I had people in and out the whole time in the hospital and would just let her sleep. With my second I kept visitors low and nursed all the time. Now that was a tad hard bc she'd rather eat than sleep but it made it more successful bc I had milk. I'm usually on the side of just producing enough so I take Fenugreek to help with supply and swear by it. Some don't have the same success and it can make babies gassy but my babies have always been gassy but it didn't bother them.

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Fenugreek! I also LOVE Yogi nursing tea! Two bags 2-3 times a day and your good to go! It has the perfect amount of fenugreek that won't make most babies gassy. I drink this when I freak out about my supply (I'm an overproducer but still freak out 🤣🤣). I like it with honey or coffee creamer.

Those are basically the same ingredients in the tea I mentioned and oatmeal. Oatmeal is great for increasing milk supply. Make oatmeal cookies or cereal and drink the tea I mentioned, and you'll be good to go! Plus, it will cost much less!

Just an update I had my ultrasound today. My hematoma is completely gone and baby looks perfect, nothing wrong healthwise. Baby is measuring at 19 weeks today and he is all boy and he was proud to flaunt it. I am so excited that this baby is healthy and the hematoma is healed and i have changed my mind on the name already. I thought I might be sad to find out boy and not girl, but honestly I am so in love with this little one I just thank God that He has given me this wonderful gift of life when the odds weren't in my favor with the large hematoma. God is good! ☺

Either one works well for me, but I'm sensitive to stuff 🤣🤣! I would try rolled oats, since they are whole grain but don't take FOREVER to cook! I love steel cut oats and am asking for a tiny sized crock pot for my birthday so I can cook some overnight to have ready in the mornings!

Max here's a recipe for the cookies!!
Bake at 350
10 minutes each side
PB and Choc cookies
2 cups whole oats
1 cup steel cut oats
2 tbsp brewers yeast
1/3 cup flax seed
1 tbsp fenugreek
1/2 cup chocolate chips
1/3 cup brown sugar
mix dry ingredients
1 smashed ripe banana
2 cups peanut butter
mix wet ingredients
mix all together then put in fridge over night
if it's too wet you can add more oats
if it's too dry you can add another banana
roll into balls, press down then bake

Momoffourboyz! That is awesome news! Yeah all babies are a blessing! So excited for you!!

We have our morphology scan Monday.. and I'm worrying a bit.. what's the chance that the NIPT was wrong and baby will have a penis? Or is it accurate?

Mommy-precious kids growing up!!
Max & Ash-I had terrible mastitis with DS1 & ended up in the hospital for 2 days with an abscess on my boob...most painful thing ever! Had to have surgery to drain it & the dr told me I had to quit nursing after only a month. I was so upset & felt like a complete failure!!! For DS2, after that terrible experience, I was definitely hesitant, but I was going to give it my best shot. Well, it just worked out & ended up nursing for 2 years!!! After those first few months, it just gets easier & easier. Max-I ordered lactation cookies often & even made my own. Not sure if they really worked, but they tasted great! As Ash mentioned, you can look up recipes or like the one Mommy posted, but they're made with oatmeal, Brewer's yeast & flaxseed. I always made the choc chip oatmeal cookies :) If you don't like oatmeal, you don't really notice it in the cookies!
Momoffour-awesome news!! [emoji322]Congrats on your baby boy!! [emoji170]
Ash & Laurel-love your bumps!!You both look fantastic!! I haven't taken a good bump pic this week, but feel like I'm popping out or maybe I just notice it.
Kat-babies r us has the lactation cookies...I know I've seen them in Target too, but can't remember where??? Milkmakers lactation cookies I think? They're not the best ever, a little hard, but I started microwaving them & liking them.

XX – I dare say it’s just your milk canals getting reading for nursing in preparation for the upcoming birth…
Does it come and go or it constant?

Mommy – look at those 3 – so grown up! Can understand why it’d feel bittersweet – they look all smiles and ready to go though !

Max - my 2 cents worth re breastfeeding – no foods are “magic” so the absolute best thing you can do to establish good breastfeeding is skin to skin as soon as bub is born, and more skin to skin! As well as have bub at the boob as soon as born and then as much as possible, stimulating the lactation and by following its cues – remembering they nurse both for food and comfort, and at the beginning their stomachs can only old tiny amounts of milk, so they feed very often but for short periods – so not to be alarmed by that, it’s what you would expect!
That will allow your milk to come in, and help get the lactation going more easily ;)
The best you can do foods wise is probably eating a wholesome, nutrient rich diet so that your body is as replenished as possible so you can produce better – I know that when exhaustion was bad, the supply had a tendency to drop. Oats are great, but moreso because they are a good nutritious food ;)
I personally wouldn’t waste my money on so called “miracle” lactation biscuits or similar – unless you like them of course (and there are so many good recipes on line to make your own – you could freeze them before bub comes and just thaw as needed ^^) – just making sure you eat enough and well will suffice! ^^
I did drink “nursing” tea – but fenugreek can be a bit strong smelling (taste wise it’s ok with a dash of honey though I found) – but only a little as I didn’t find it changed much of anything.
Oh and don’t worry about the weight – you are so petite to start with , a few of pounds is nothing – and weight gain at one point doesn’t mean you will gain 2 pounds every week till the end hon ;) look a that bod! And this is bub #3 – wow - you look amazing!

Laurel And Ash – your bumps are too cute and you just look amazing too! I am looking forward to having a true baby bump, not just bloating and flab lol

Ash – wow, oversupply to that point! Go you for pumping all the time and donating the liquid gold! :D Agree, mastitis sucks – only had the beginning of it once, and gosh it is agony!

Mumoffourmonkeys – I am so happy for you that the hematoma is gone – what fantastic news! Congrats on the healthy baby boy ! May we know what you’d like to call him? (yes, I am a nosy curious one haha ;) )

I better run, I have a celebratory lunch for my 3rd work anniversary with my boss – and then I have to run to get to my “dentist” appointment aka what I told my manager to leave early and go to the gynae appointment :D so excited and soooo nervous, praying bean has grown and is well!!

You guys are sweet, thanks!

Lola, omg mastitis is my nightmare. My sister and my best girlfriend had it with their last pregnancies. They were also hospitalized. Do you know what caused it? I'm so opposed to pumping because of my previous experience, but I think that can cause mastitis also if you don't get it out right? I need a breastfeeding tutorial. [emoji12]

I have to tell you all something very minor that happened today that was so funny to me!! Don't know who else to share it with, but thought you all might get a kick out of it! I work in an elementary school & we have faculty meetings on Wednesdays. At our meeting today, our assistant principal was discussing our fire drill/intruder drill procedures very seriously to the whole faculty, mostly women maybe 3 guy teachers. She was talking about evacuation & said it several times, then mistakingly said "ejaculation" one of the times. Everyone bust out laughing & she turned bright red lol ;) She stopped turned around for a minute & covered her face, turned back & said "I'm so embarrassed, I just want to crawl into a hole." Then she went about her presentation. It was def a good laugh ;)

Max-I def made sure I emptied all the milk. If I still felt full, I pumped the rest & stored it for later. I often fed on one side & pumped on the other. With DS1, I had a clogged duct that I couldn't seem to clear. I always massaged, pushed, & squeezed the milk out, but it didn't work. I felt like I had the flu with a high fever & chills, then terrible pain in the boob. They say it helps to keep nursing through it. I did, but it hurt so bad I was in tears...felt like shards of glass/knives cutting me!! I don't think DS1 was getting milk out of that side at all. When I was in the hospital, my boob was so swollen...they asked me to try to pump, but nothing was coming out!! It was AWFUL, BUT on the bright side, I was a success story for DS2 [emoji4][emoji106] After the surgery, I had a small hole in my boob that I had to pack twice a day with gauze since it heals from the inside out. It finally healed after weeks & now years later, there's the tiniest scar that's barely noticeable!

Max wearing to tight of a bra or one with underwire. My case with ds3 was I had a shapewear thing on and it was to high up and I went out for about 3 hours and skipped a pump by since I was used to pumping I got engorged. With ds4 I told my lactation consultant about this and she said don't pump. I was hurting myself by pumping every feeding because the more you pump the more you produce so I didn't with ds4 and I never got it.
Lola too funny!

Max & Ash-I did pump b/c I wanted to save milk, but you're very right...it's supply & demand!! The more feeding plus pumping, the more milk that can lead to engorgement! I have the Lanisoh Therapearl gel/bead pads to put on the bb's to help too...they can either be heated or chilled.

It does come and go but it's around for a large portion of the day. I bet it's just my milk ducts getting ready and colostrum forming. I have recently weaned my DS3 at 18-19 weeks so I wouldn't think my breasts need to change too much! They do seem to be getting bigger and that may contribute too. It's just not fun!

Lola, those gel pads just reminded me of something! When DD2 was born, I had a girlfriend come over that successfully nursed her three kids for a long time to help me. I was getting engorged in the beginning and she took my husbands tall work sock (clean lol), filled it with an entire bag of rice, and put it in the microwave. It was warm and because it was long, I was able to wrap it around my entire breast. Less than a minute of that and then I would nurse and it cleared the entire breast quickly! I think the heat is key (or was in my case). Just a cheap tidbit in case it helps anyone else! :)

That's a great idea max! Only one of my babies I was successful with nursing was Kolton my third baby. Nurses him for 15 months. Braxts I only made it for 7 weeks, but I was really depressed with him. My dad died the same day he was born and it took a real emotional turn on me. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170824/d91e8a0eda24f904394eda454a6b0a5a.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170824/7ee9e4a70ddc6ada053a909deef609ae.jpg pictures I got done a week after he was born. So I really hope we are expecting this month! I figured out we would find out thanksgiving weekend what gender would be and my little girl is just hoping that santa will give her a baby sister for Christmas! So was thinking me and dh go and figure out gender and then the next day, if it's her baby sister have one of dh's coworkers dress up like santa and tell her that her baby sister will be here in May!! She would so love that and it'd mean so much to me being able to give her an early christmas present like that, one she longs for!

Sent from my ALE-L21 using TapatalkIt just ups ur odd but people still get opposites while on it so it isn't a magic pill.
I am not sure of how long h need to be on it but i did it to my best for about 8 weeks and then 4 weeks of partial HE diet so round about 12 weeks

Hey, ladies! I've been reading if not commenting. Sounds like everyone is doing pretty well!

Going back to teaching this week is kicking my butt. No matter how much water I drink, I have no foot or ankle bones by the end of the day, even if I found time to sit too. Any suggestions for reducing swelling? It's prob just the heat and change in routine, but I thought I'd ask!

Hello all - so much going on with you all. I just got caught up on everyone. Too much to comment individually, but your bumps look so cute! I feel like a whale!

DS4 had a relapse Tuesday night and I was sick with the bug too, so I was out of work yesterday. DS1 started 7th grade today and DS2 started 1st grade! DS3 will start pre-school on the 5th. They are growing up so fast!!!

I had a rough morning with dropping off at school and finding the new bus stop. It is 0.5 miles away from our house and 4-5 different street turns to get there. I called the school's transportation department to see if they are adding in another stop because of all the new houses being built and was told no. They are moving the stops out of the subdivisions and onto the main roads "to increase efficiency" of the bus. I was livid and wrote to the Board of Trustees to see what can be done. That is not acceptable to have 6 year olds waiting on a main street for the bus. My DH was supposed to walk to meet the bus because we figured it was near the house. We were wrong and since DH walks with crutches, that is way too far for him to push a stroller. Now he has to drive to meet the bus. :( We may as well just take him to school at that rate. It has been a rough day to say the least.

Can't wai to see the next round of gender reveals happening in this group real soon!!!

We didn't sway as it took 15 months with a miscarriage just to conceive this one. This is my 3rd child. I have 2 girls and wanted another girl (they are just so calm and easy) but convinced myself this one was a boy because of the low heartrate and the way I am carrying (the only similarities my 2 girls had during my pregnancies was the way I carried). Now that I know it's a girl I find myself a little disappointed. I guess I'm disappointed I'll never know what it would have been like since this is my last. I'm sure I'll get over it once I start buying things and girl stuff is so much cuter than boy stuff.

Lola I've heard of sprinkles before but I agree I never thought it was right to just have one on the first but I had a small surprise family one for my third because he was a huge surprise during a time my husband was laid off work for a short period so all the items were welcome

we say thrush here in the UK to describe the yeast infection you can get down there.. its also used for the one babies get in their mouths and mums get on nipples but most commonly it means you have a yeast infection "downstairs" :-/

Lola if they are offering and want to do it for you then let them :) i dont think its wrong of you its not like your the one demanding it! but we dont have them here so maybe im not understanding? is it strictly first baby only?

Ash your little girl is going to have such a gorgeous nursery i love your theme, we are about to move house so i dont think i'll be doing much on that front there is too much else to organise ARGH haha

speaking of organising i have ordered the first little "unisex team green baby" bits today, not much just some newborn size baby gro's and vests, they are white with little moons and clouds on  so sweet :)

Thanks ladies! I guess if they insist, I won't say no haha. They seemed excited about it. It's a very sweet gesture & at least I'm not the one recommending it!
4blue2pink-it's typically tradition here to have a shower just for the 1st baby, but it's becoming more common to have a "sprinkle" for other babies, especially if it's another gender. I didn't have a sprinkle for my 2nd baby & we were team green, but my work surprised me with a little shower with diapers, wipes & gender neutral things.

Ash-what a cute baby GIRL!!! [emoji175][emoji166] That's so exciting to confirm it again...def reassuring!!
Max-love my Doppler! I heard it as early as 9 weeks, but took me forever to find it. Found it down low on my abdomen. I've had some freak out moments where I couldn't find it & had to take a break from it. Look up some YouTube tutorials to help familiarize yourself with your Heartbeat vs baby's! Now at 16 weeks, I can find it easily. Can't wait for the unmistakable baby movements!!!

Pbn-thanks! You're right, might as well let them do the shower & enjoy it!! Hope you're doing well [emoji173]
Soooo, I was craving some boiled peanuts today! Stopped by the hot boiled peanut stand today yummm! Any of you heard of them, it's a Southern thing & most "out of towners" think they're gross lol.

Lola soooo cute! And my goodness you are still so tiny! Love that little bump! My girlfriends threw me a sprinkle when I found out we were having another girl, but it was more geared towards me since we already had everything. They took me to a spa and it was amazing!! [emoji4] But for sure let them throw you one, especially since it's your first girl. Definitely celebrate it! [emoji175]

Lola those outfits are gorgeous :) will it be very warm where you are in march? it'll still be cold here :( and absolutely freezing in december/jan when my little ones due, but i guess its an excuse for lots of snuggly baby blankets
never heard of boiled peanuts i think my dh would love them he eats peanuts a lot anyway, are they flavoured or are they just boiled plain?

Me too, 4b2p! I've bought long sleeved dresses, tunics, shoe tights, and leggings for dresses/outfit combinations. I'll post pics of my stash I've bought so far when my last order comes in on Wednesday. I seriously have a problem, haha! I've only bought 0-3mo and 3-6mo until I see her growth pattern and what the weather does here. It's cold from November-March typically but we've had mild winters the past 2 years. I'm thinking we are in for a doozy of one, but who knows!

we've barely had a summer here this year XX i never put the winter coats away :( as we still had cold/rainy days unfortunately!!
i love shoe tights they are so cute!! and leggins are the way forward with girls i swear! my 2 year old has lots of black leggings that go with any top/t-shirt or even dress, makes it so much easier :)

XX have you had any experience with raspberry leaf tea capsules? ive never taken them but considering this time.. recommended dosage is 1 per day from 32 weeks building up to 6 per day by 38 weeks, im going to start my own thread asking but thought id ask you seen as your here :)
