Taking benedryl

Why do people do this, and when? Right before DTD? Is it really necessary?

To dry up EWCM. It has had disappointing results but if you want to try it, Benadryl (this is diphenhydramine! not other stuff) is taken 1-2 hours before planned one attempt.

You can take it with Zyrtec (cetirizine) if you so desire, take that 4-6 hours before attempt (and can also take this for 5 days alone (don't do the Benadryl every day, that's a one time thing)

Do not take diphenhydramine if breastfeeding and don't do the 5 day method with breastfeeding. Also, don't do both doses if drinking alcohol and most sources recommend never mixing alcohol with antihistamine (some have done it though) and so if you are wanting to use alcohol as a sway tactic, you will probably want to skip antihistamine, which has had inferior results anyway.
