MD, with my girls my diet wasnt a very healthy one, not many vegies or fruit, although I did eat alot of things with salt, I hardly ate meat. GoodLuck!

smoking is supposed to lower fertility which sways pink.

Yes this is why I was worried, but it doesnt look that way to me anymore when now I can see that men have been smokers and still end up with boys.
Yes I believe smoking lowers sperm count, but doesn't kill boy sperm, and I have not yet found one study to prove otherwise.
So :fx: I get my boy after swaying for 5months.

DH didn't smoke but I don't think it's a "make or break" thing! Sounds like the other boy moms can attest to that! Just wanted to wish you lots of luck and blue dust w/your pregnancy! Congrats, Mama!

No my DH doesn't smoke (neither do I). Most of his friends who have children do, and they have girls.

I hate to be a downer but this goes for me as well.....all the moms I know who have smoking hubby's have mainly girls(out of 9 children, 7 are girls). BUT...who's to say that this is the reason at all. All of the moms are quite small so I'm SURE that plays a part:) I'm the only "fat" mommy and I have 3 boys....oh well.

My DH is a smoker, 20 a day, plus he smokes daily 'specials' which is why I put him on the high dose of 200mg co-q10:agree:

He may though, because male smokers are proven to have more daughters. Yes, some people have conceived boys with a DH smoking, but there is a very real effect that smokers father more daughters. Even though they have 50-50 X and Y sperm, they father more daughters. I'm sorry, I wish I could put your mind at ease.

MY DP is a light smoker up to 5 roll ups a day (as much as I nag him to stop) we have two boys.
His dad is a heavy smoker and also went on to have two boys.
I'm just trying to think of other situations to compare to. But I don't really know anyone else who has a dp/h that smokes..
The three people that I know who have had girls their DP's don't smoke.

Thanks guys, Im no longer worried about it, but love hearing more stories of fathers who were smokers and still have boys.
I was talking to my mum about it and she said, 'its nonsense, your grandfather had 6 boys and 1 daughter and he was a heavy smoker'

Atomic i know what your saying & i also know couples who have daughters & their partners do smoke, this is why i was concerned, but i guess i can see that its really not the case always & that makes me feel better.

No, not always, but I figure swaying is about maximizing your odds in the ways that work best for YOU guys as a couple, and since that is one thing that we truly do know sways, I just wanted to get the info out there and then everyone can decide for themeselves at that point.
