Atomic will probably have you try the version of the pcos le diet. I'm on it and I rather like it. Need at least 12 weeks on that, clomid, coffee, alcohol, 60 minutes of exercise 6-7 days a week, and one attempt at positive opk. That is the main things.
You are trying for a girl right?

The stumbling block we face here is that vegan diets are quite carby and for some of us, not only does it make it hard to shift weight but can also potentially sway blue, because carbs can keep blood sugar high (for those with diminished insulin response) and even possibly raise testosterone levels. You don't need to have full blown PCOS, you can just have tendencies towards that and it may still sway blue. I would have you switch to whole grains if you aren't already, plus fruits and vegetables (sounds like you're on your way with this already, that's great.)

Sodium has not seemed to sway blue at all. It's one of those things where when I started investigating the idea, I found there was actually no evidence in support of the idea and a fair amount of evidence against it (which I can go into if you'd like). Most of us have totally given it up and our results have only gone up since we did. I got my daughter eating TONS of sodium after getting my 4th boy while limiting it. Makes it a lot easier to stick with diet, that's for sure.

Hi Veggiemom!

I'm vegan too and swaying girl. I just wanted to ask what you're eating.

I'm easily keeping within the limits as I only eat whole foods, but I'm eating a large portion of lentils or beans for dinner every night to get enough protein, and I'm a bit worried about going overboard.

Atomic - is this an issue if I'm within limits?

Clomid and vegan diets both sway pink.

Sodium is something most of us have totally given up on and our results ahve only gone UP since we did. I got my daughter with my husband and I eating gobs of sodium and our lowest dairy and calcium intake we ever had!! A lot of these things never really worked. :)

LOL I had answered this 6 weeks ago I see. My original response was better. :)

Overboard in what sense of the word??

If you're in limits and do not have PCO then it's all good.

Hi veggie mom and mom! I just posted about being a vegan/plant based girl swayer and looking for others who are doing the same!

How's your sway and diet going? What are you eating to stay within limits?

Interesting that atomic mentioned whole grains instead of junk carbs because I've found I'm able to lose weight really easy this way instead of my cheese/dairy/white bread vegetarian days and I don't have pcos. I just feel too "healthy" this way.

Atomic- overboard in the sense of having the vast majority of my protein from beans/lentils each day - always within limits. I've started to have some spelt and brown rice for alternative sources of protein, but they're higher in carbs...

I was diagnosed with PCOS when I was 18 (I'm 40 now), but haven't suffered any acne/painful periods since being vegan. I know I struggle with sugar because if I have too much fruit I can get a bit spotty, and also struggled with falling pregnant when I was having too much fruit. When I cut this down to one piece of fruit a day I fell pregnant the next month.

I've been skipping breakfast and just eating at lunch and dinner. At lunch I'll have a glass of almond milk (unfortified), an apple and then I'll have veggies or salad with houmous. For dinner I'll have a glass of coconut water with beans or lentils (as a soup/stew/in a tomato based sauce with herbs like oregano or in a chilli sauce) with veg/salad. I don't eat gluten either, or drink tea/coffee or alcohol.

I used to have at least one avocado a day in a smoothie with a banana, plus lots of nuts, and drink two green juices with spinach, kale, celery, cucumbers etc, plus I didn't exercise. I've cut all of this out, plus I'm walking 4 miles a day, 5 days a week. I'm taking Vitex (which I took before) and SP, plus I've stopped my prenatal multivitamin and I'm having 800mg folic acid a day instead.

My hubby is vegan and very fit - does weighs and runs and is always on the go. He still has green juices. I'm planning on giving him licorice root. My Luteal Phase is 10 days max (I've fallen pregnant every time with this length of LP so it's not a problem), but is this a long enough break from licorice root for hubby?

Geauxme - I have seen your post but haven't opened it yet because I thought it might be long and getting to the end of my day here!!

But PLEASE keep doing what is working for you. The plant based, whole grain type diet has gotten actually better results than the higher carb/junk type LE Diet so if you are able to stick with it you will be better off continiuing as long as weight doesn't fly off.

I"m sorry I'm dense today but I am still not clear on what you feel you're going overboard with?? Nutrients, carbs? In limits those things are fine.

If what you're doing with diet is working for you, carry on. I have seen a fair few people go vegetarian/vegan and their PCOS really flared so I hesitate to give that as a blanket prescription but it is possible. Gluten free has also seemed to help with pink sways.

I cannot recommend vitex and SP for any 40 year old as it seemed to really make low odds of conception for us with women over 35.

You know, let's just skip the LR totally. It has gotten disappointing results, your husband is already vegan and runs (both pink friendly) and given that I'm assuming he's your age or older it may not be safe enough anyway given only 10 days off per month. Plus it may lower his physical fitness level which men do not like! Leave it out.

Thanks Atomic. Hubby is 40, so I'll leave the LR.

I took Vitex continuously before and fell pregnant, so I'm happy to stick with it.

I was just worried about the beans/lentils being nutritious, but I'll stick with them given I can easily stick within the limits.

Thanks again.

OK got it. Please don't worry about that. Limits trump everything else. If you're in the limits you don't need to worry about beans and lentils being too nutritious.

Like I mentioned (I think in this thread but maybe in a different one?) a lot of people who do what they call "LE Diet" won't DO the limits. They do magic foods and skip breakfast and CALL that LE Diet. so when I was writing it all up I had to take those people into consideration. When I was back on IG, I saw a lot of sways fail because people were so focused on the magic foods that they'd eat a dozen eggs, a chicken breast, 3 yogurts, a cup of craisins, and drink a gallon of whole milk a day and think they were on a good pink sway diet. So I had to put in the warnings about beans and stuff since I didn't want people to do the same - to ignore the limits and end up eating so many beans and nuts and lentils and etc etc etc that they really went over the limits dramatically.

If you'e in the limits, you have freedom within those limits. Don't worry about the foods
