View Full Version : Does DH health affect sway?

I know that DW diet is more important than DH, but I am curious if DH health affect his sperms and also the sway? My DH is naturally skinny and he is currently underweight (5"9 and 120 lbs). He has lost about 10lbs due to stress from work. It is just really hard for him to regain the weights. He has been taking some multivitamins for about 6 months. He's planning to start working out next month hoping to gain some more weight and be healthier. Should I still go ahead and ttc this month or should I wait till next month so DH could have more time to get healthier (gaining some muscles and also eat more)?

DH health can absolutely affect a sway. I do also see a higher number of girls born to super skinny men.
I am assuming since he is that thin (that will go away in time LOL) and you're on your first, that you guys are young??? In that case I probably would hold off, but not indefinitely. If you think a month may make some difference I'd wait if time is on your side, but not forever, if it hasn't improved in a month, I'd proceed at that point.
FWIW we got our first boy and my husband was super skinny like that. So I know it is possible! :) (and let's just say he is NOT super skinny any more!!)
Good luck and blue dust!

Thanks atomic. We are pretty young (i hope). I am 26 and he is 31. DH gets stressed easily and worries about every little thing, so I do hope that working-out will really help him physically and mentally like it did before. And this time, i wont let him quit the gym anymore haha. If he gains some weights, that would be great for blue sway, right since it would signal the body that the conditions are better? Also, can we start trying next month (baby fever ) or should we wait for a few months since it takes 3 months to make sperms (https://www.shadygrovefertility.com/blog/fertility-health/fertility-facts-sperm-regeneration/)
It puts my mind more at ease knowing that someone with the same situation got their boys. I know we will also love our girl dearly, but if we get our DG baby first, we could just relax and enjoy all the next pregnancies without worrying about the sway.

The "conditions are better" angle is for YOU, not him. But it's good for him too because muscle gain will raise testosterone and in turn improve sperm numbers, and something about this process sways blue. :)
I would give it exactly a month and then try. Don't worry about how long sperm takes to form, etc - once you guys start putting things off, you'll put them off forever, and something will always come up in between - instead of him having lost weight, he'll have been sick, gone to someone's bachelor party, etc it never fails!!

Atomic: thank you for being so supportive! I really want to start ttc ASAP so your encouragement means a lot! And seriously, what's wrong with our DH? They always go down with something around O time. It drives me nuts. We have put off our ttc plan since April due to various reasons for each of the month. And I agree, things will always come up, we just need to go at it. It would be awesome if we get pregnant on first month trying :fx:
