momof4 that is so wrong that they forced you into the bed even though you were drug free :( stuff like this makes me angry, good for you for standing your ground last time, though you shouldnt of had too!! and im glad your doctor was on side with you, i hope he educated his staff on the matter after that incident because its not acceptable, the benefits of being active during labor and upright for delivery are huge

good luck for tomorrow mommy2 :)

BlueBooties-3 weeks so such a short leave. The US is so terrible with this.

xxforHubby-Your bump is so cute! And I get you on the love hate with the newborn stage. How exciting that you're almost done!

maximbella-a new house and a new baby, how fun! And very sweet of DH to plan a getaway and I thought mine was sweet when he dug through the trash because I thought I threw away my bank card...and it turned out I did in fact throw it out.

Pbn- I wish our winters were mild. Last year we got 36 inches in a 2-3 day span and everywhere was closed for nearly a week for clean up. Your bump is so cute!

4blue2pink-I believe this is standard for the US in regards to leave but really most places have no maternity leave at all so I'm lucky with the 6 weeks I get. The first week isn't technically "unpaid" but the checks are delayed so I'll still be getting the maternity leave checks a week or 2 after I come back since I heard once you submit the claim that it still takes another week to start seeing the money. We can only get up to 15 days maximum paid vacation/sick time but that's after 4 years with the company. I'm only here just about 2 years so I only get 8 days a year until then and we aren't aloud to carry days over into the following year.

Mommy2apples-good luck!

I'll be stalking Mommy! Don't give up yet, although it's easier said than done. I remember feeling bittersweet when I got my BFP. I don't know what possessed me to test, because I didn't feel hopeful at all. I had told my DH that I was done trying, and didn't think a BFP was likely. I was pleasantly surprised!

I believe it happens when you least expect it- when you're about to let go it pulls you back in. We are all rooting for you! It WILL happen soon!!

Mommy - you have been so positive, don't lose that!! I'm excited for you.
Mommaxo3 - were your older girls excited this baby is a girl? My oldest is really wanting our 3rd to be a girl but I swayed Blue which lately seems to be just for me!
I'll get 8 weeks paid 100% due to csection, then will take 2 weeks vacation (I get 5 weeks and yes, I'm very thankful and fortunate) and then maybe 2 weeks unpaid if I want the full 12 weeks. I don't want to sound like a terrible mom but I get antsy to go back to work. Get kinda depressed being at home towards the end. But, it's easier to send my babies to daycare/preschool because my husband is the Director there so he's there with them [emoji5]

LOL Ash!!!

Congrats on hearing GIRL Iwant!!!!

Pbn - cute bump. I too have a hard time thinking of Christmas in the summer. Crazy.

mommy - FXd for tomorrow!! Praying this is it. I was SUPER shocked with my BFP and almost panicked since I was totally not expecting it.

4b2p - The US is so so so far behind in maternity care and treating women better after birth. I will take 8 weeks off after birth (I work until I go into labor). I will get paid short term disability (which I pay for) for weeks. With that there is a 2 week period that you have to wait first and use vacation time for if you want to get paid. Then I will get 60% pay for 4 weeks. After that I am on my own. I accumulate 3 weeks of vacation per year, so I will not get paid for the remaining 2 weeks I will take off. I will then return for 8 weeks at half time. It REALLY sucks how women are treated in the US. It is like a punishment for having a baby.
In the past I have had a reg family Dr for giving birth, but my Dr moved away, so this time I chose a midwife clinic. They are associated with the hospital. Here we have to give birth in the hospital unless you don't make it in time. And I have always been made to push laying in the bed. It really is not good. The last time I had a med that made me very lethargic and out of it and I actually gave birth on my side. That was better than on my back. This time I will be as upright as possible since the midwives are for better positioning. We shall see.

AFM - I passed my glucose test!! And all of my blood work is good. We still have no idea why I am itching though. Baby is looking good with a hb of 147. I am now measuring 5.5 weeks ahead instead of the 4 weeks. (34week size at 29weeks). No one knows why I am so big either.

Mommy2apples-good luck!I have only ever had 4 weeks off so 3 weeks isnt bad.

I can do the same and ask for extra but yes a part of it will be unpaid, they will take away my 4 weeks of vacation time so i will have no vacation for next 12 months which would make me go nuts and i am a productivity based employee so i will be at loss salary wise compared to my male colleagues ( as if i take leaves extra than allowed my yearly productivity in paper looks bad )

So for all the above reasons i am working extra shifts during pregnancy and will free myself 3 weeks of time off and keep my 4 weeks of vacation time as wel

Kat - my maternity leave is only 65% paid I believe. But yes the girls wanted a sister and they're excited. My 5yo puts her ear on my belly all the time and I asked the other night what she was doing and she said "I can hear the baby breathing."

BlueBooties - I do think men should also be allowed paternity leave though as well. If companies did that then it wouldn't look like the women are getting "extra vacation" (because giving birth and sleepless nights are such a treat lol). Dads need to bond too. The US is even worse with that then maternity.

AshFind
August 30th, 2017, 06:50 PM
Momma my husband can actually get bonding leave! And I think with his recent position change it's paid! I can't believe it we've always had to save a ton for him to take unpaid bonding leave. I'm excited this time.

Hi ladies! Sorry I've been MIA...family fun on Sunday, then a busy week w/work meetings...just plain exhausted! Ready for a long holiday weekend coming up & it's also my birthday this Fri, so DH is taking me out for dinner yay!
I had to go back to the last thread to see what I missed!! I missed some big news!!
HUGE congrats Iwant4-this is amazing news, a sweet baby girl!!! [emoji175][emoji166][emoji177]Do you have a name yet?? You will have to share any shopping finds!!! AND BTW, you do not look like a hephalump lol.
Pbn-adorable baby & adorable bump!! You're doing an awesome job at staying team green! [emoji172]
Sky-great to hear from you! I've missed you!! My anatomy scan is on the 15th, so right around the same time. Hope you sneak a peek! Can't wait to hear! Hope DH is recovering well & hope DD is enjoying the new school year ❤️
XX-love your gorgeous bump! I know you must be counting down!!!
Mommy-Fx for you!! I will make sure to check in for your update tomorrow, hope the spotting stays light & goes away! You have been so patient, praying this is your time!!!
LMSM-yay, excited for you to get bw, can't wait to hear!!!
Kat-I hope you call & get results!!! I was totally worried that my genetic testing gender results could be wrong, but I think they're supposed to be pretty accurate. The genetic specialist said that he has seen inaccurate results, but it was related to a genetic issue with the baby. He explained something called mosaicism where there are different cells in the baby than the placenta. This can be related to syndromes where there are diff numbers of chromosomes 46/47 XX/XXY. I was thankful to see a very girly nub shot, but will be even happier if they still see girly parts at my anatomy scan coming up. It has been correct for all of my friends & I can think of at least 6 who've had it done.
Max-hope you're managing on bedrest! Did you order the Doppler? Are you still having recent thoughts that a boy could be nice after seeing DH interacting with your family(nephew I think?). I really think you're in the ideal win-win situation!!! Yay for house hunting!! Sooo fun!! We are hoping to buy/build a new house in a year or so. It's fun to look!!
Mommaxo3-It makes total sense for you to have a shower since your kiddos are older & it's like your starting from scratch. Hope someone has one for you!!
Ash-how's your nursery coming along?
Shann-yay for passing the glucose test! Hope the itching stops though!
Momoffour-have you decided on a middle name?

Bluebooties-I'm sorry your maternity leave has to be so short so it doesn't cut into your vacation days! Maybe you'll enjoy your vacation time off even more when baby is a little older & in the fun, playful stages. My DH did get 2 weeks of paternity leave with one of his jobs. It went by really fast though!!

Morning beautiful ladies!

First thoughts for Mommy2apples – oh no for spotting – I sincerely hope it is just early pregnancy spotting, not AF :( big :hugs: and still keeping my fingers crossed big time hon!!!

Bluebooties – the US system is definitely tough to young mothers – do you usually breastfeed your bubs? 3 weeks post-partum to return to work, you are a trooper! What role are you in? You said you were medical profession and doing shifts – are you a nurse/doctor or some other hospital job? My hat off to you sweetie! ^^
In Australia, employers are not required to provide paid leave (they just have to allow you to take up to 52 weeks unpaid) – I am fortunate that my current employer does give some paid leave – and legislation recently changed (Oz mammas, do you know if it still is current with all the “double dipping” debate etc?) to allow for a government paid parental leave (which parents can split) up to 18 weeks with minimal wage. We do get 20 days per year annual leave if working full-time, so the accrued holidays can help extend the mat leave too…
Anyone living in Finland or other Scandinavian country super generous with paid leave ? :D

Iwant4- still on cloud #9? :D news sinking in? ;)

Kat – how cool that your hubby works where the kids go to preschool/care :D at least Daddy is close by ^^
You might have told before, but what do you do?
I hear ya re wanting to go back to work pretty quickly after birth – I currently almost don’t make any money going to work with the cost of daycare, but need to for my sanity and my intellectual stimulation lol I’ve extended my part-time so I can keep my Fridays with the girls until end of Jan (when M should start prep), and have some special unrushed time with them :awe:

Ash – go for the donut my dear, I just went and got some Doritos lol enjoy! :D

Shann – awesome for the glucose test – always a relief knowing it’s normal ;) 29 weeks? Home stretch now! :D bellies have growth spurts as baby does, so unless you continue to measure consistently ahead, wouldn’t worry! Have you got lots of fluid? I had that with DD2, and yes she was big, but also had an Olympic swimming pool in there haha
Sucks that you still have itching – are all your blood tests good? Annoying not to know why – have you found anything that relieves it? I’ve had dermatitis on and off on certain spots on my body since DD1 and it is hell...so sympathise!! I feel so sorry for the bubs and young kids that have eczema!

Lola- happy to read you ! Busy lady – and in advance happy birthday lovely! ;) sounds like you have nice plans!

Sorry I missed a lot I am sure…

Ok, so had my NIPT blood drawn this morning – the lab lady told me up to 2 weeks for the results?! Like , what the? The website says 5-7 days (assume, business days) for the regular Generation test – so am a bit disappointed there :S she did say to check in with my GP in a week to see if they have the results but knowing my luck will have to wait the 2 full weeks
I know the sample has to go to their lab in Melbourne so didn’t expect results in 5 days but still…sigh lol
Morning rant over – don’t get me started on daycare too because I would just be a whinging crazy lady so will leave it at that haha
DD1 was telling me before going to bed last night – again out of the blue (I was taking her to the loo before bed so it was a unusual spot for night time confessions haha) – that she wanted mummy to have two baby brothers and another sister (but not 2 more because she already has one, that would be too much lol)..she’s totally onto me I say, whether she consciously realises it or not lol only a few more weeks of keeping my mouth shut – now have to think of a cool way of announcing it to them! I was thinking of sitting them down on the sofa telling them we have something to show them (i.e. pic of ultrasound) and film their reaction – M knows what the u/s pic means so she will likely understand – E will probably wonder what the hell her parents are going on about
Ooh and am looking at organising a nice lunch out with hubby for our 10th anniversary – have to line up the girls’ godparents, as they are so lovely with them and have 2 big girls which my girls adore – drooling over the menus of the lovely fancy restaurants I am eyeing (and weeping at the cost and the things I am not allowed to eat) :D

Ok, better run!

Ash-I bet your boys will love rooming together. Are you actually getting bunk beds? My boys have moved in together, but I haven't updated the nursery yet. DS1 decided he was done with his crib & now he says it's the baby's bed! We put a toddler bed in DS2's room & so far so good!

Blue my guys are 2 and 4 and we were worried about the height of bunks but didn't like that a trundle was on the floor so we're going with this one. I think it'll be good and we have a dealer in town who delivers and sets up for free so we won't have to mess with it! https://www.ashleyfurniturehomestore.com/p/embrace-loft-bed-with-caster-and-left-steps/apk-b239-lb/
LMSM ugh two weeks! I can't wait to hear though I can't believe you've kept it this long from the girls! I felt like as soon as I got a Bfp I was noticeable pregnant [emoji12] which is why I told everyone at 8 weeks. Plus I'm impatient.
Lola ^ I think this will be the perfect bed for them not to high not to low. But you do have to pull out the bottom to sleep on then it can push back in for the day to be out of the way.

Ok, better run!Yes i am an inpatient/hospital based physician in the field of medicine.I pump and only get to do initial days of breast feeding but honestly its such a stress to manage that at work that i haven't been able to keep at it for long. Thank fully i have normal births so that helps returning back to work in 3 to 4 weeks.

Thanks Ash! It'll be okay, sort of suspected it anyways. I'm going to try the e3d or e4d whichever way you all count Monday-Thursday then 🤞🏻with not doing clomid this cycle will get a positive opk.
Then next cycle will do eod and only tempt. Which I suspect I won't conceive until the eod cycle and plan to take my last dose of clomid that cycle as well.

Bluebooties – oki doki- oh hell yeah, trying to establish bfing and pumping at work so soon after birth would def be hard – kudos to you for giving it a go nevertheless hon! ;)

Ash - I just wanted the girls to have something tangible to see – they are still so young 9 months could seem like forever to wait too – plus if I know gender by then (which I should) then I will be able to give them that info as well (was thinking of doing some pics of them in cute dresses and capturing their reaction on photo when I announce the gender ^^) – much more tangible to know what gender the sibling is! I’m super impatient though :D can’t wait to see their reaction! Less than 3 weeks to wait now – it feels so far away yet it will fly by I am sure ;)

Mommy – oh no, shucks – I love your positivity, that has to pay off soon! That baby is just waiting for the exact right time, and will be so, so special :awe: big :hugs:
I like your plan – FX it pays off!!

PBN – I could do the crazy lady and ring that early (and probs will haha) - was your result 10-12 business days from draw or just calendar days? If just calendar days, then there is hope for me to have it next week :D

im shocked at the US system and sad that you are all being treated the way you are :( i completely forgot to mention paternity leave, here dads get 2 weeks fully paid paternity leave from the day baby is born.

love that bed bluebooties, the drawers in the side is such a clever idea! we need bunk beds and drawers for our kids once we move but they are all so expensive, especially the drawers if you want solid ones that wont break within a few months.

so exciting LMSM :D

Hi ladies, lots of talk.about mat leave.
Oz is really good personally and I'm lucky being a teacher. I get 14 weeks paid leave at my salary or you can opt to take it at half pay for 28 weeks And any school holidays that gall during your leave is not.included so you can paid your full wage again but it doesn't come out of your maternity leave. Then we can access the 18 weeks government funded minimum wage after that.
I technically got paid for an entire 12 months (took my 14 weeks at half pay over 28 weeks and got paid at full pay 6 weeks of school holidays plus 18 weeks minimum wage by the government) with my DD. I'll be doing the same again and get paid for a year off. My husband gets 1 week at his wage being a teacher also or 2 weeks at half pay then can access the 2 weeks minimum wage from the government. He had a month off (took his employer wage at half pay) when my daughter was born. I'm so sad reading how behind some countries are with mummies bonding with their babies!

Ash-I believe we bought our girls bunk beds at Big lots. They are a bit high so we now just use them as regular beds so I get wanting to see it before you buy it.

LMSM - I get trying to keep quiet about a pregnancy. You want to shout it at strangers and everyone you know lol. We waited until 11 weeks because I had a miscarriage the year before. We sat them on the couch and filmed it. I was going to show them the u/s but I didn't think they would understand fully what it was. Thankfully they aren't asking all the time when the baby will come. They did that for the first 2 weeks after telling them though, I just kept saying after your birthdays. My youngest's birthday is in December and my oldest is in January and this one will be in February. So Dec, Jan, Feb lol.

totally get keeping quiet, we dont announce at all until after the baby is born, our oldest 4 kids last time walked in after school and nursery (she was born while they were out) and met their sister and were like "whats that?..its a baby!..can we keep her?" haha though my eldest 2 did double check that we weren't swapping our then-youngest for the new one :D

thats a nice birthday pattern mommaxo3 :) ive got two who weirdly both have the same birthday 5 years apart!

Sky & LMSM-Thanks for the bday wishes! I think I'm going to do my Facebook preggo announcement on my bday tomorrow! [emoji4] I'm excited to go out for a nice dinner with DH tomorrow night & then just relax at home with a movie without distractions. I know my sweet distractions will be having a blast at my mom's house! They love going to her house!!
Sky-wow & I thought it was hot here in SC! Try to stay cool & hydrated! It seems like the heat is unbearable at times when preggo. We've had a heat index of 107 recently, but temps in the 90s. This week has been a little better though...around 88 during the day, 75/80 at night!
Ash & blue-love your bunkbed choices. I may get something like that in the future! For now, DS1 loves his queen size bed & it doubles as a guest bed when they visit.
LMSM-hope you get your results back quickly!! So excited to hear your results and how your girls react to the news!!
Blue-I nursed DS2 for 2 years & pumped at work. Luckily work ie very supportive with pumping needs, but definitely a challenge! A maintenance guy accidentally walked in on me pumping...apparently missed my "Do not disturb sign" and unlocked the door with a master key. It was an honest mistake...I'm only at that school 2 days a week, so he didn't think anyone was there & was going in to fix the air vent. AWKWARD lol!
Mommy-I'm sorry, I was really hoping the spotting would go away!! Fx for your new plan doing the trick!!

Happy Friday everyone! So after everyone saying blood test is reliable I went ahead and got our gender and we are having a girl [emoji175] I will say I'm shocked (bc everything was so different at time of conceiving versus our first two pregnancies) and a tad disappointed, but I know that will go away. And I know regardless of swaying the Lord determines gender and He chose another sweet lil girl to complete our family. My husband is excited, he didn't really care either way, but I think he'd loved a boy. My oldest daughter will be over the moon happy which is exciting! I'm not ready to tell people yet, think I need some time to process.

Congrats Kat! I completely get the needing time to process. I had to tell people right away because they knew we were having the ultrasound, and I could have really used more time to sort through my own feelings. A few weeks later from the knowledge of another girl, I'm feeling better about it overall, but seeing baby boys is still a stab in the heart.
I think it's worse because I know how much different everything was this time from conception to my feelings to old wives tales (which I know aren't reliable). I get it. Take some time to yourself!

for what its worth i think all girl families are gorgeous and the thing i find really amazing about them is that as their mum you haven't just carried all your children inside you but also every single one of your future grandchildren because baby girls form their lifetime supply of eggs before they are born

Sorry I'm behind again....so just catching up from the new thread onwards:

Mommy - Sorry it wasn't your cycle :( Have you been having CD21 blood tests while on clomid? To check that you're ovulating?

Kat - Sounds like a great plan with your leave. Lucky your DH is the director of childcare, would make life so much easier.

Shann - Great news on passing your blood tests! Sorry about the itching though....You're so close now!

Lola - Hope you had a great birthday! Enjoy your dinner. No name yet....I have just started thinking about some choices though. It's so hard though as I get sick of names, especially after teaching a child with a name I like.

Max - How lovely to have some time away. And super exciting to be moving!

LMSM - I don't think the double dipping thing has been enforced. It was thrown out I think due to too many complaints. I signed quite a few petitions. I had my blood drawn on a Tuesday and the results went to my Ob on Friday very late. Hope they come back soon! I rang Dorevich and asked them if they had gone through before ringing my ob. I also asked them to not tell me the sex on the phone and to email it instead, so then I could process instead of talking to the receptionist about it.

Ash - Love the bunks! Hope the boys like them and settle in well.

Dancing - great plan with your leave! We are lucky in Oz.

Sky - Wow the weather is so hot!!! Glad they can stay inside at school.

Kat - Sorry you didn't hear blue, but glad your girl is healthy x

Pbn3 - Hope the pasta worked out okay?

Maternity Leave - Wow I really feel for those limited with their leave. I'm in Oz too, so we are very lucky. Unfortunately, I left my permanent job as a teacher 5 years ago and took a job closer to home that was someone's maternity leave position (we have take off 5-7 years as a teacher, depending on the school system). I am at a private school, so they can just keep extending their position every 12 months. So I therefore, don't have a permanent position and won't get any paid leave from work. As I'm due in March, I will finish my position at the school mid December, before our big summer break of 6 weeks (which won't be paid). When school resumes at the very end of January, I won't have job to return to. Well this is what I believe anyway....when I tell my principal this week, I will enquire and see if they will give me some work during February which will help a lot financially. Once bub is born I will get the standard 18 weeks paid leave from the government and then I'll take the rest of the year off. I am really going to focus my energy on my business Wooden You Home - Wooden You (http://www.woodenyou.com.au) and see where that takes me. I could easily earn $600-1000 a week, which is a fraction of what I get teaching, but we could get by. Sorry for the essay!

Thanks for all your congratulations! It's starting to sink in, but I'm hoping to get a good nub shot at my 12 week scan on Tuesday! I hope I have a good sonographer.

Iw4k: no they never Checked all that. Will see ob on the 14th and explain to her the last few cycles and see where she wants go from there. Thank you! I truly don't think I'll conceive until I start the eod, but want to give the e4d this cycle and hopefully with the clomid out of my system I'll finally get a positive opk.
Then the following cycle I will do the eod each cycle until I finally catch my egg. As that's how I caught the egg with my last angel baby and we had to do every day to catch the egg with my three youngest babies... so in reality I guess you can say my fertility has always been crap... lol the lord will give me my rainbow baby when he feels it's time. He's just busy molding us the perfect baby for our family for the time being. ❤️

That's rough about not having a job to return too and not being paid for your leave! 🤞🏻for work during February! Nice to have the 18 weeks paid leave! Too excited for you! Will check your business out in a bit! Sounds like a good plan!!

Welcome Gabrielsmummy! This is a great group of women!

Iwant4 - I went through 18 months of six month extended contracts in 3 different schools before I got permanency. My DH took 2 years to get his. Sucks how they can just string a person along!

That's the thing the US seems backwards and behind on their maternity leave schemes and benefits while Oz is far ahead yet we're behind on the issue of gay marriage compared to them and the fact we can't do gender selection. I wouldn't have even bothered swaying if I could just get it done here in Australia without the added expense of international flights, accommodation and spending money on top of your procedure cost. And unless you go to Thailand our dollar is not that great compared to the US dollar or Euro.

Welcome gabrielsmummy! Congrats on this bub!
Same questions as the ladies ^^

Iwant4 – how cute are those little wooden characters! ;) it’s great you could potentially use that as a means to up your income, especially whilst on leave. Was it tomorrow you have your NT scan?
For the government paid parental leave, sounds very likely they scrapped the whole changes they wanted to implement following the uproar – I for one would have not been happy ( I feel that when you work hard, pay your taxes, and your employer has a policy to retain employees with an incentive such as paid mat leave, then it’s none of the Government’s business :P). so def hope to be eligible to claim it next year!

Dancing – how is your daughter? Has conjunctivitis left your house?
Speaking of the gay marriage situation here – will be the 1st vote hubby and I will cast as new Australian citizens – so I find it exciting, albeit postal vote still feels special ^^ it’s about time Oz were a bit more progressive on this point! My daughters have friends (2 girls about the same age) who have 2 mums – and to the kids (ours or theirs) it’s a non-issue – they don’t bat an eyelid – it’s just their parents, end of story… if kids embrace difference, why can’t adults?! Anyways lol

Sky- is it still as hot? No idea what your F* degrees equate to in C*, but sounds like it’s scorching hot!

Thinking of you all! Are all the kiddies in the Northern hemisphere back at school today, Monday?

Gah hubby is still convinced it’s a girl, so much so he refuses to even think of a boy name – but agrees I have aggressiveness about me, not sure if that could mean boy?! (yes am clutching at straws) I had a massive go at neighbours last night (they feed magpies which have grown into a massive problem but after nice requests for them to stop as it is filthy (they feed them meat, twice a day!! / the birds poo everywhere) and it makes it hard for us to be outside (birds can be aggressive and the kids freak out etc) a few months ago, they continue so I pitched in as hubs was talking to them and basically went ballistic and lost it at them – oops (might get me in trouble as was screaming on the top of my lungs – unlike me - as DD2 was in tears in the garden, tetanised and that was just too much for me, I was very unpleasant…might come back to bite me, and probs served no purpose when you are dealing with idiots - but so be it, can’t be undone).
Also tried the Doppler last night and still no joy :( I know 10 weeks is still early, and bub could just be hiding – but am more than ready to hear that galloping sound! :D

Sorry I have been quiet. Have a lot going on and have been very busy.
I have a friend who is a gp and she is wanting me to stop expressing milk for my dd. she is saying that it is taking nutrients and folate away from the pregnancy which baby needs to develop especially for the development of the brain.

Blue I've never heard that before. I've always heard your baby will get the nutrients he needs no matter what you eat baby will start taking it from your body and you will be deficient and not the baby. My dr would have been perfectly fine with me tandem nursing while pregnant with ds4 just recommended I stop at 20w so I don't contract

Bluedreaming you're in Australia right? You could try the Australian Breastfeeding Association on 1800 mum2mum (1800 6862686) or even 13health? That doesn't sound right to me either and I think you're doing the right thing by getting a second opinion. The other option is to google or ring your local community health centre as they often have a lactaction consultant you can see.

But, you had a great boy sway, were definitely on the diet longer and gained weight. Morning ladies!

Bluedreaming – if you are otherwise feeling ok, eating well and plenty of nutrients, feeding your DD will not detriment the baby – as long as you follow your body’s cues and that of your DD, I really see no counter indication to nursing – some women may find they have some contractions when nursing/expressing but if not and you are healthy there is no reason to stop…
Women have been tandem nursing for – well forever – so if it works for you, I’d say go for it! Second the idea of ringing the Australian breastfeeding association – they are awesome – you may even have a local chapter with some volunteers that you can see close to you ^^

Iwant4 – Dorevich? I was told to call my doc – do you think it’s worth calling the number I have at QML (well, the dedicated NIPT number that I rang to pay etc)…? Sooo nervous!
How exciting or your scan – can’t wait to hear – and see that nub shot hehe – as am sure you are :D

Kat – oh I’m sure your Dad will be just as besotted with a girl – he may have wished a boy for your sake, just to experience that, rather than really have a desire for one of the other ;)
Agree we haven’t had much success by way of blue sways haha would love to fall into the successful category but we shall see – now I am actually more nervous about being told there may be an issue, so much so am having nightmares about it – so I guess it puts things in the right place, and shows my priority definitely is healthy above anything else – would be over the moon with boy of course but would love a girl just as much ;)

Oh and we need some bump pics!
Ladies in the final stretch – how are you feeling – any signs of your lovely babies making their grand entrance soon?

Lola – I somehow missed your post! Thanks hon ;) I will leave the Doppler be and try again this weekend – giving bub a few more days to grow bigger and hide less haha

Ok – so rang QML – results not ready yet – gaaaah!
And rang the hospital as got my 1st appointment letter – which won’t be until end of November at 22 weeks! – so was worried about if I got a spot in the Midwifery group practice (since the appointments are not at hospital) – couldn’t get a hold of the MGP but the antenatal clinic lady told me it is likely because they are full around my DD so didn’t get a spot – am soooo disappointed – I sent my referral at 6 weeks, am low risk, am a repeat patient at the hospital – just feel like crying :(

That is what I thought. But she is saying expressing is different to breastfeeding. My goal was to express till dd was 12 months and I am not going to reach that if I have to stop. I am taking Blackmores pregnancy and breast feeding multivitamins and also an iron tablet as iron is slightly low.

That's ridiculous (sorry!) they aren't different. If anything, expressing means you are probably getting less out than breastfeeding would (as a pump isn't always as efficient). I'd keep going if all is going well :)

Hello Ladies. Hope everyone in US had a fun Labor Day weekend. We were mainly at home staying cool.
LMSM - [emoji30][emoji30][emoji30] for the wait. I have been coming here to see your update the entire weekend every chance I got. [emoji52] I am praying that you hear boy. Don't listen to dh. [emoji4][emoji4]Like Kat said, we need a successful boy sway[emoji170]🤞🤞so hard for you.
Iwant4kids- How was the scan. Pls send an update soon.
Kat - I know what you feel.I am sure your dad will be super excited for you. Dads are pretty amazing that way. I wish you hear all positive things at your gender reveal. Do let us know how it went.
Bluedreaming - I also don't think that there should be any problem but I would suggest talking to someone at the breastfeeding helpline for your peace of mind.
Ash - How cute. I only feel light flutters sometime so far. Can't wait for dd and dh to experience it too. She will be sooo thrilled.
Gabrielsmunmy - Welcome. Congratulations. Like everyone asked, Did you sway?? [emoji4]

Bluedreaming - I second ringing ABA! They will know for sure.

LMSM - Yes i rang the line that I rang to pay and they told me what time and day the results were sent to the Dr. That way I knew they would have them without hassling them everyday LOL Sorry about not getting in, could this change?

Mommy - Hope the app on the 14th goes well. Hopefully you have a BFP by then though x

Thanks for the feedback on my dolls. Can't wait to share my latest project with you tomorrow, it's how we are announcing on FB and I'll send text messages to friends/family too. Just need to take a photo in the daylight.
It's going to be a long 8 week wait until the next scan to confirm gender!

Iwant4, she's perfect! :awe:

LMSM, I'm on pins and needles waiting for you to find out!!! :)

My girls started school today. My baby is in kindergarten, I don't know how it happened. I was a crying fool this morning, of course after she walked into her class with a smile. It's just so hard for me to see them grow up, I don't know why!! :) Yesterday I spent the day with the girls getting them organized for today. I think I did a bit too much as spotting has started again. Augh this is really a roller coaster. My appointment is next week on the 14th - praying that baby is healthy and the hematoma is on it's way out!

4blue2pink-I couldn't imagine waiting until birth to tell anyone. I always show too much to hide it.

Skyblue. Yes I'm due Feb 5th but I generally go overdue so I know it'll be much later. I don't mind warmer weather but we're in that fun time where one day its 50 outside and the next its 85. So everyone in my house is sick.

Kat1234- Sorry you didn't hear the gender you wanted but congrats on your girl. I haven't put too much into the wives tales symptoms because my first 2 pregnancies were absolute opposites and both were girls and this one is a mix and I'm carrying way different and its also a girl. So we can have 3 girls together. Also literally EVERYONE during EVERY pregnancy I've had told me they hoped it would be a boy. I feel like girls are so underrated and they're so much fun so I don't really get it lol.

Welcome Gabrielsmommy!

Ash that's exciting! I can't wait for my SO to be able to feel the baby too.

Maxi-My youngest also started kindergarten this year and my oldest started middle school (which is 4th grade for our district) so I had 2 big blows at once. I'm glad I'm having a baby soon so I get to start all over. I hope the bleeding stops soon that can be so nerve racking.

mommato3 i live away from all my family and friends and im a full time mum so no work colleagues etc so i guess it makes it easy for me to not tell :) i do have a facebook but dont post anything till birth announcement so thats when my friends and family find out, i have done it different in the past, announcing during the pregnancy but i just cant be bothered with anyones negative reactions, this is baby #8 and they are all very close age wise with my eldest only being 7 and neither a large family or close spacings are really the done "thing" i find people are much more positive when there is a cute baby picture to go with the announcement!!

thats really interesting that people said they hoped for a boy for you every time, was that even with your first baby? over here (uk) i feel girls really are the trophy gender, there is always more stuff stocked for girls than boys and not just clothes, even Congratulations/new baby cards!! and people seem so much more enthusiastic over someone having a girl than a boy, its stupid really isnt it, either be happy for them or keep your mouth shut :-/

4b2p - that's amazing - 8 kiddos in 7 years!! I need more info. Do y'all just not protect and easily get pregnant right after birth? How old is your youngest? I don't know why I didn't know yours were so young/close in age! Love it! Do you know if #8 is your last? We have a family that lives behind us of 7, with the oldest being 10 and I just watch them out our window with envy sometimes [emoji175]

Afternoon all! Just got caught up. Congrats and welcomes to all. It has been crazy trying to get back into the school swing of things with the kids and changing things up with DH having to do school bus drop off and pick up. DS4 is going to be starting pre-school in October in prep for the new baby, so it will be a huge change for him. Hope he does ok. He has been home with DH his whole life (all 2 years of it ;) )

Aww mommy I just took ds3 for his first day of pre-k [emoji24] he was so excited me not so much. I bawled and couldn't sleep last night all I'm thinking is what if he has to poop at school and gets scared/worried because he isn't the best at wiping his own butt!
4b2p my grandma had 5 in 8yrs! I don't know how she did it with my grandpa working on the railroad and being gone all the time... in the meantime of her having 5kids he had 3 more with another woman on the other end of the road where he worked [emoji849] she stayed with him up until he passed just a month ago! Back then she said he had to sign a paper for her to get her tubes tied and he wouldn't do it! For me I think 5 kids in 10 years is plenty with my husbands schedule. After school is the worst/craziest most stressful time of the day [emoji12] I don't think I can handle more

Aww ash! It's so hard when our babies are growing up. It breaks my heart and makes me proud all at the same time. I understand what you mean, because Kolton is really good at wiping his butt, but he has us roll him paper four times so he can wipe really good, and I don't believe the teachers would that for him. It's hard because you wonder how they will treat your babies. They expect them to grow so much faster than what we do!

kat we dont use birth control and funnily enough i honestly feel the first time we ever "tried" for a baby was when we swayed, before then i had never taken an opk in my life, i dont chart or anything and we used to just bd and bfp would happen at some point :) i think you call it not trying-not preventing or something? but we had to drop that and switch to opk's to be more organised for swaying!! haha
as for falling pregnant after birth i normally get my periods back around 9-11 weeks after the birth and generally fall pregnant again when baby is around 6-8 months old, my exception to this is when i lost my daughter at 18 weeks, i fell pregnant 4/5 weeks after her birth and ended up with both her and then DS2 who followed next being born in the same year-not twins.
yes they are super close in age!! 2010, 2011(loss), 2011, 2012, 2014, 2015, 2016 and due again 2017
my youngest is 10 almost 11 months old  she will be 1 in October :) and there will be 14 months between her and baby which i always think of as my "average" age gap :) all being well #8 wont be our last, i would say certainly 1 more to end on an even number of 8 at home (9 in total) and then see where we are at, im 27 now and could have 1 more and be done at 28, a big part of me has always wanted to be done with pregnancy/babies before 30 im not even really sure why..

aww thats lovely that you know such a big family :) and thankyou for being supportive of it aswell  you wouldnt believe the negativity towards big families :( though am i right in thinking it is a more normal thing in the US? i have noticed there are quite a few american youtubers with large families, your 3 girls will have their own little gang going in a couple of years time once baby is able to join in :D how old are your girls?

4blue2pink
September 5th, 2017, 06:26 PM
Ash thats crazy about your grandad haha 3 extra kids!! your grandma must be a very forgiving lady!! after school is a complete nightmare time of day :(
no matter what the age gaps 5 kids is a big family :) i think you know when you are done/ready to be done dont you and to top it off your finishing with your little girl which is just perfect

4b2p I've always and dh also have wanted to be done at 30 so we can still have time to enjoy each other once they're grown. I got him talked into one more when he was 31 lol but I said I'm still 30! But no the negativity is still a huge issue here towards big families. I feel like I love all of my kids I give them everything the need and want in occasion, I can afford them, and I take care of them so it shouldn't be anyone else's issue.

Hello lovelies,

Lots to catch up on!

Iwant4 – it’s def harder to see the nub upside down, but it does look girly nevertheless – so cute! :D looking forward to seeing your project/announcement – am sure it is precious!
I rang Genomics yesterday and results weren’t in – so I think I will skip today and try again tomorrow before I start massively harassing haha
I want to clear the girls’ closets – but want to know if I have to keep some girly stuff or I can get rid of it :P
I will try the midwifery group practice again today (left them a VM yesterday mid-morning but they didn’t return my call yet) so will try them again later today – if I persist I may be able to get a spot, if nothing else if someone cancels! But not holding my hopes up alas…

Max – oh I can sympathise, it’s hard seeing them grow up, as much as it is a pride to see them become more and more independent little people, part of us always would like to hold on to that time where they were tiny. Am sure it will get easier for you over the days, especially if she is enjoying it so much ;) sorry you had spotting again, hopefully that is just the hematoma finishing to flush itself out and you will be in the all clear next week!! Can’t wait for you to have your scan ^^

Mommy2apples – how was schools start for your kids? I can see you are now out of AF so you can get started on BD as you please – and attempt time will there soon! FX!!

Mommaxo3– what a big day for you indeed! Not too sure of the schooling system in the US – but sounds like you had an emotional day too ;)

4blue2pink - it’s funny here and over where our family is (France) – it’s all about having a boy – I had the same reactions – everyone was wishing me a healthy baby boy – each time. Here, when we told my FIL when they were over, he was happy and emotional at the prospect but straightaway said “it’d be good if it was a boy” – it made my blood boil I tell ya…
Can’t ever win. I guess the whole “family legacy/name” thing etc is a strong factor.
We did announce pregnancy around 20 weeks – but never gender – that was at birth and you’re right, once there is an actual baby there, no nasty comments over gender or name - ;)
My hat off to you – 8 in 7 years – in awe! And you’re so young too (had my first at 28.5 y.o though we did start ttc when I was 25) :awe: we’ll have three kiddies under 5 and that’s already going to be a handful :P but would love a 4th kiddo (well, I say that now haha) – not sure I’ll manage to convince hubby – he turns 40 in June next year and not sure he would agree after that milestone, it’s kinda his limit – we shall see!

Shann – how are you feeling?

Ash – cheeky grandpa!! Lol having said that, my dad – who only has one sister – found out after his dad passed 15 years ago that he actually had a couple of illegitimate siblings born whilst he was married to my grandma – I don’t think they have a relationship – but seems it is more common than what one might think ^^

AFM – 11 weeks today! :D less than 2 weeks before the NT scan – so getting rather impatient :P

Have a lovely evening/morning all!

Lolabelle

Iwant4-cute baby girl!! [emoji175]
Max-take care of yourself!! Sure hope that hematoma just goes away!! How long are you supposed to be on bedrest?
Kat-you're going to have such a cute family of girlies! I have 2 coworkers with 3 girl families & they're just adorable! Each one has such a distinct personality [emoji4]
Not much new here. Just ready for my anatomy scan next Friday & looking at nursery decor. I'm a little nervous about this monster hurricane out in the Atlantic!! I'm in South Carolina & right now it's looking like it'll make US landfall...they're guessing Florida, but you just never know!! Wish it would go out to sea!!! Praying it doesn't head this way & hope we don't have to evacuate ugh. Went to the store today & the water bottle shelves are already almost empty!!!

He only goes for two hours a day, and loves the other little kids! Excited he's adapted so well. Dd she's always been outgoing so she just loves school as well and ds1 well I think he just goes because he must. He does like when he puts on his football uniform on Friday because all the girls swarm around him. Lol teenagers!
Thanks lmsm! Hope so! Yes will begin attempts soon, probably tomorrow although that won't count but will get me on the e4d attempts and really hoping that opks work out this cycle! 🤞🏻

4blue2pink I also am in awe of big families. One of my good friends had 6 six kids and they are all so close and now grown up with families of their own. Christmas time looks an absolute blast at their place!

Lola hope the hurricane stays well away! Cant wait for some pics from your scan!

LMSM woohoo for getting a spot!! So happy for you! I know you were really bummed when it looked like you'd missed out! Am on the edge of my seat waiting for your result and by all means be the crazy lady who rings on a daily basis [emoji23] chances are you'll get a different operator each time anyway [emoji6]

Maxim definately take it easy especially for a few days! Would be awful to see the spotting again [emoji853] but a few days of full resting will help if you can do it. Cant wait to hear tbe hematoma is shrinking nicely at your next appt.

Ash totally agree that its no one's business how big your family is!

Sorry to hear all the ladies who had their littlies go off to school. It really is a bittersweet moment [emoji173] I remember ds1's first day of school this year. I spent theday watching the clock and wondering how he was going, wishing I could've stayed and watched him all day [emoji853]. As for the poo thing he always waits till he gets home [emoji23] and at 5.5 still has trouble sometimes wiping his butt clean [emoji38]

ash i get that and its a similar feeling for me i dont know why 30 feels like the milestone age but for some reason it does! maybe its because i got pregnant with my first at 19 so ive dedicated my 20's to pregnancy/babies and feel like once i hit 30 its time for the next chapter :)
im sorry its still a big issue over there :( i was under the impression it was a much more accepted thing, and yes why is it anyone else's concern when the children are happy and well cared for in a nice loving home that is financially stable. i swear some people just like to be rude to others and no matter what they will always find a reason!

LMSM i can imagine france being quite pro-boy as its a traditional place but i am shocked to hear that about Aus! i assumed itd be the same as UK with girls being preferred.
Yes no negative name comments at birth either! :D whereas it seems to be open season if someone reveals name choices before the birth..
3 under 5 will be hard at first but once you get past them being so dependant and demanding it will be fab :D they will have so much in common being so close age wise
and thankyou  it took me almost a year to conceive my first which given my age at the time was a little worrying.. there is also quite a strong history of fertility issues and in some cases very early menopause (30's) in the family so i feel incredibly lucky to have been able to have my babies without ivf or other fertility help, i hope you and dh can agree on #4 :) fingers crossed you can talk him round if its still what you want after #3 when do you find out gender for this one? thats great about the midwife practice :D

thankyou Pbn :) christmas is never quiet thats for sure!!

Praying for all of the US & the islands to be out of harm's way, but it's not looking good & this is a category 5 185 mph!!! We had to evacuate last October for about 4 days & that was a much smaller storm...we just couldn't get home due to flooded roads & the electricity was out. Maybe it'll make a miraculous turn out to sea...

4B2P - For Australia – it may just be my own experience though – as I had only girls – maybe people pictured me moreso as a boy mum and that was what “fit” me? Or it is just the “expectation” that you “should” bear a son for your husband’s sake or whatnot (and he could not have cared less about gender haha) – who knows! lol
It is great indeed that you’ve been able to get such a wonderful family – it was just meant to be!! I love the idea of a big gathering for milestones/parties – and even more so as they grow up – brings tears to my eyes at the thought of a big busy loud table filled with laughter and sharing together - :D it must be such a wonderful, crazy at times am sure, ambiance you have at home with your tribe :awe:
My eldest is a very independent bossy miss, so am sure she will be fine – she will ace this big sister*2 thing – she keeps asking for more siblings – funnily enough she says she wants 2 brothers and another sister, so that would be 5 kids – which I know hubby would not go with unless he said yes to #4 and #4 turns out to be #4 and #5 haha I am sure we’ll cope – it’s more DD2 who is a big mummy koala bear that will maybe find it hard to adjust – having said that, she loves babies atm and she’s still always has had to share us with a sibling so might be easier than I expect!
If all goes well I should get my NIPT results in coming days – hoping by tomorrow – so should know gender then! ;)

Mommy2apples – how great your kids are going to school so easily and enjoy it ;)

Lola – that is scary – is your home safe in case of a storm? Hope you don’t have to evacuate – so hard especially with little ones and pregnant! When the 2011 floods hit here, it was terrifying enough – and we were lucky – but we helped out people in the aftermath – clearing houses of mud and the atmosphere was indescribable – post Armageddon ish! So FX really hard it turns out ok!

Srg – I think girls are lovely but can be a handful as they can be prone to drama more?! I don’t have experience with a son , so can’t compare though ;) how old are your girls?

What a cute bump PBN – love it!!

Awe, thanks for asking! There has been someone deliver early- Mama-3-boys. I also think Faithinpink and Inforthree were ahead of me, but I haven't heard from them.

Things stopped for a week and now the BH and BMs are back. If I had to guess, I think she'll come the week of the 17th. I've thought that all along, and things seem to pointing in that direction. Of course she could have her own agenda, haha! I just hope she comes after my birthday, which is this Sunday the 10th. I think it would be neat if she came on the 20th- 10 days after my birthday. My DS1 was born 10 days before my birthday on the 31st of August. I'm weird like that though, haha!

I'm just getting so excited! My house is all clean and in order (even laundry [emoji16]). I just need to make time to pack my hospital bag! At least I have a list of what I and my DH want to bring.

I feel lucky in a way as in I feel I have dodged the GD bullet as such because it took so long to conceive my sticky baby. If I had fallen pregnant with a sticky bean back in 2015 then I can say I'm sure I would not have the same mindset I dont think [emoji53] my journey brought about a whole new appreciation and love for my boys, so much so that I would love another boy now, maybe even more than a girl.....

I feel you pbn. The losses have away of doing that. You don't realize how much your kids mean to you. I mean you love them, but tragedy brings you even closer to them and makes you realize they are a gift to you and you should cherish every moment with them as they are a miracle and very well couldn't had ever been here! All babies and children are such a blessing! As much as I would love a little sister for dd, I do much more want just one more healthy baby!

And your rainbow baby IS coming mommy2apples [emoji304][emoji173]

So I'm toying with an idea for the birth of bub and having a family gender reveal post birth. Someone a long time ago mentioned the idea of having skin to skin bonding without knowing gender to help cope with GD in case they had an opposite. So using that idea I've been thinking of asking my ob to do the same at birth, so not to announce the gender and have bub put in a white singlet instead of pink or blue. Then when I'm back in my hospital room post op with my husband, my boys and my mum we can have our very own gender reveal by removing the nappy [emoji3] Thoughts?

I don't have a specific rhyme or reason, but I do like patterns & numbers that flow together! I like the sound of 2/8/18. One of my coworker's had her baby on 11/12/13 & I thought that was the coolest thing!!!

Thanks Max & LMSM...preparing for the worst with this storm, hoping for the best! If we have to evacuate, we'll either go to our family's country house or up to Ohio to see DH's family. We are about 20 minutes from the beach & this area is prone to flooding. We'll see what happens over the next few days!!

Pbn I love that idea of the gender reveal. I'm thinking I might steal it because I don't want that feeling of disappointment when the doctor or my DH tells me and the midwife and the ob are in there and they see my face or something. Hello everyone, thanks for asking about me. It has just been so crazy here with school starting, LOs being sick, them getting me sick. UGH. I have zero energy, but am trying to get caught up on laundry. It is never ending!!! I am only 30 weeks but measuring 36 - so I feel huge. I ended up loosing weight when we were all sick, so I am at my starting weight. I have no idea how I am so huge and not gain anything. I think I feel bigger than I look. I am definitely full on waddle now. :)

I honestly don't feel pregnant at all. And yes over the last 19 weeks i have forced myself to get used to the idea of a 4th girl (bcoz lets face it there isn't much hope of a boy after having had 3 girls. And a boy would be so out of place in our family even if i get one )... planned for girl clothes, nursery, names .. so i feel i have overtime gotten used to it and am hoping this will soften the GD blow when i hear girl.

Wow you guys were busy!

4blue2pink- I guess that makes sense waiting. I had a friend who did that with her 5th baby - didn't announce it until he was born and the negative feedback was the reason. I had a lot of trouble getting pregnant with this one (#3) so we'll be done after this one but if I could, I'd have more, kids are so fun. I can't go through the heart ache again of trying plus I wanted to be done by 30 as well and I'll be 29 next month. And yes all of my pregnancies from the first to the last said they hoped they were boys. In the US boys are the coveted gender. We live in between a family with 5 kids and one with 6. The family with 5 really needs some parenting classes but the other ones are so polite and quiet. And my SO is 1 of 6 as well, I love listening to him talk about growing up with so many siblings. I only have 1 sister so my stories aren't as fun lol.

Maximbella - the district just made the middle school 4-6th about 2 years ago and high school is 7-12th. It had to do with a space issue in the elementary. I just showed my oldest how to open a combination lock over the weekend for her locker! I didn't do that until 6th grade! And she switches classes every period too.

Ash - I didn't cry and neither did she going into the building but when I walked away my eyes did get cloudy for a second there. And I hear you on busy school days and I only have 2. It took me 10 years to make 3 babies. I always wanted kids closer in age :(

Pbn-That is one of the most annoying comments from people. They think they're being funny but they're actually telling you you're huge (which you're not).

xxforhubby-how exciting that you're almost done!

Anyone else experience BH early in the 2nd trimester? I had a few at each week since 16 weeks and I didn't have any with DD2 and with DD1 they started in my last month. I know they mean nothing I just find it weird that they're starting so early.

Me! I was told that BH start happening earlier the more kids you have. It has to do with muscle memory, how frequently you go to the bathroom, and how hydrated you are. I find that I get painful ones right before a BM [emoji849]. I'm so used to it at this point, that my DH and I joke I won't know when I'm in labor [emoji23][emoji23]! There is some truth to that though, because labor doesn't get painful for me until I'm 7-8cm anyway. I also labor quickly from 0-7/8cm- usually an hour-2hours [emoji51][emoji51]! I guess the BH prepare my body well ahead of time, but this time I thought it a bit ridiculous to start at 15-16 weeks!!

Mommaxo3- I'm having them and am only 17.5 weeks, feel like they started last week. I thought it was early too. I don't worry though bc unfortunately I don't go into labor, don't dilate, etc. so not sure why I have these as a tease!

Shan, I feel your pain...I'm about to be 36 and I feel like a grandma on here! ;) So wish I could have done this all earlier, I feel like we are getting too old for this also. I run out of energy so much quicker than I did when I was in my 20's.

Augh ladies I'm feeling so down about this hematoma. Reading on google about it does NOT make it any better - lots of stories of women going into preterm labor in their 20th weeks, having placenta previa, losing babies in utero, and stories that just break your heart...and supposedly the risk is still there even after the hematoma resolves! I am such an active person and the bed rest is just painful for me, combined with hormones, it's a bad mixture. I was so good up until this week, it's really taking a toll on me. I just want to have a normal pregnancy and be with my girls, but had to hire someone 5 days a week to help me in the afternoon's driving them to their activities since DH is at work. I feel like I'm missing out on so much, but at the same token, I can't risk moving around. Nothing that can be done, just venting....

Shannshaff I'm 39! And feel every year of it too [emoji23] however my mind (and maturity heehee) still feels like I'm 18 [emoji6]

Bluebooties cant wait for scan coming up! Feels like its taken forever! Are you still going to get gender put in an envelope?

The comment about my belly actually didn't bother me but agree it is rude. I'm actually very proud of my baby belly and love it when it sticks out fully [emoji23] I also cant keep my hands off it!!!! I'm forever rubbing and prodding, poor baby is probably already saying 'stop!!' or as ds2 says when I give him too many kisses and cuddles 'that's enough mummy' [emoji23][emoji23]

Thanks for loving my gender reveal everyone! Seems I'm the only one irl that thinks its great too [emoji23] my hubby said 'don't build it up too much because anything can happen, someone could slip, you might see the gender at birth etc' [emoji30] yes husband I'm aware of that possibility........

Lola hope you are keeping safe. Update when you can [emoji173]

Sent from my SM-G900I using TapatalkYes Pbn3 i will still do the envelope for 2 reasons
1. DH won't be with me at scan he is working that day
2. I am afraid even if i am able to control my emotions they will somehow show and i don't want that. I would rather go through disappointment in private.

You know based on how atypical my new OB practice has been i wouldn't be surprised if they said the anomaly scan is for just that we don't disclose gender 🤣even DH was remarking the other day that he would probably see baby at birth based on how things are going with out OB's minimalistic sonogram approach. I get that its medically not necessary but as parents its the best part to look forward to prior to birth.

It's such a short period in the grand scheme of things and hopefully they'll enjoy the change of someone picking them up! I know your going crazy though, I would be [emoji51] When's your next appt?! Max- they told me with my 2nd, but didn't this time around. I think they can if they want to. Want you be around 12 weeks then? When they told me with my 2nd it was an 80% guess but turned out right.

Blue-I'm excited for your upcoming appt, it seems like you've been waiting a long time!!
Kat-I felt like maybe I was having BH, but thought it was early.
Shann-I just turned 39...I know what you mean!!
Max-don't let what you read bring you down...love what Kat said!!! Maybe you'll get a good nub shot for guessing?
I'm supposed to have my anatomy scan 9/15...I've been waiting forever & now I'm worried it'll be canceled due to the weather! It's looking very likely that we may have to evacuate ughhh! There's many possible scenarios right now, but heard a rumor that schools may close on Monday & Tues. We could just get bad weather/flooding or we could get a direct hit [emoji15] Very unsettling!!

Lola – I hope you all stay safe and dry – Hurricanes look pretty scary – so all my thoughts for you and your family in this challenging time!!

Max – hopefully the bedrest will be a thing of the past soon – definitely do not use “Dr Googel”, it will fill you with anxiety for no reason ( I had a hematoma with DD2 and still went to term with a healthy bub ). I would have said exactly the same as Kat, focus on the outcome of this – a sibling for your girls – which they will adore and appreciate!
If you get a good nub shot, we might be able to take a guess :D

Iwant4 – what an adorable announcement – love it! :)

Shann- I know what you mean - I will be 33 by the time this bub is born – and all these young ladies are already making me feel like an ancient motherso feel your “pain” haha it’s all about the age we feel in our heads rather than actual age :P and like PBN, am not quite the age on the paper in my head

Mommaxo3/ Kat – regarding BHs, I know I had them earlier and worse with DD2 than with DD1 (I do have a very irritable uterus to start with though) – for now it’s only rather painful round ligament pain but am sure the BH are not too far away…
Your uterus is probably more prone to BH with subsequent pregnancies - as long as it doesn’t shorten/open your cervix, it’s fine albeit literally annoying/downright painful!

XX- oh you’re precip labour mum too! :D envy you not feeling any pain until that 7-8cm mark though :P
I think the BH def prepare the uterus for labour – with my 1st they started at 14 weeks ish and I was so freaked out – when I expected DD2 they started at 11 weeks ish so knew to expect them – but agree – like wtf do we need the uterus to prepare thaaaat early?!

Blue – we’ll be counting down the days with you hon! Of course you have as much of a chance at a boy as a girl – and either gender would adjust – as they will be part of the family as much as the other members – and your girls would make their sibling welcome and included regardless ^^

Sky – sorry I think I missed your post earlier – how is everything??

Afm - Gahhhh my results are in (and apparently were already on the 5th but at midday and I rang at 10am so when I spoke with them they weren’t in.. duh – now I regret not calling again yesterday but it was just a hectic day I could not find time to make a discreet phone call away from colleagues) – but can’t get them until I see the doc – and no availabilities for an appointment today – so will see her tomorrow at noon (will have to bring the girls – bad timing too but no choice). OMG – cannot wait, will not sleep all night now haha so nervous about there being a problem …FX all is ok though!

Oh and spoke with the midwife – am in the programme!! she is coming for my booking appointment on the 22nd, after I’ve had my NT scan etc - she will come to my house for the booking appointment – so am relieved and excited! The clinic I will have appointments at is only a 10-12 minutes’ drive from my place so will take half a day off when I have them and work from home the rest…it’s starting to all feel a lot more real now :D

Don't usually have time to follow the due date groups but saw you were expecting your results today so came by to stalk for news. It's only 24 hours to wait but don't think I'd be doing it as gracefully as you are. Guess it doesn't change the results. GL :bluecheer:

Hi ladies.
LMSM - Boo for more waiting. But still excited and on pins and needles here. [emoji52] 🤞🤞
Pbn - Love your pic. You look gorgeous and about time that people stop with their unwanted comments. I love your idea about finding out gender when you will be in the recovery room but how will you wait that long. [emoji52]
Lolla - Thinking and praying for you and your family. Hope you all stay safe and dry. Keep us posted. Hugs.
Ash - You look so beautiful in your picture. You are so tiny. I am not sure where is the weight that you talk about is going?[emoji12] You are so
Lucky.
Iwant4kids- Beautiful bump pictures and such a cute baby. [emoji175][emoji175]
Max - Hugs. I can only imagine your feeling low. I would also suggest you to stay off of google. You are a great mommy but right now you need to take care of you and glad you have someone to help. At least the girls are going to their activities and not getting bored at home. Hang in there my friend. I know we are not used to of taking care of ourselves. I have gd and I need to make sure that I eat in time and eat right. Sometimes be the first one to eat if I have to. I sulked, cried and lost it a few times but now I am getting used to it but still hating it.
My mil always says that women are way more stronger than they think. So, take a deep breath and take it easy. Hugs.
Will write again in the morning ladies. Can't keep my eyes open anymore. Gnite.
