View Full Version : 13w1d scan, terrified I am going to be crushed at gender scan

Hi ladies, this is our 13w1d scan of baby. We have 2 boys and a girl, and secretly from day 1 I have been willing this to be another daughter and a sister for our little girl. I felt confident when I saw our 13 week scan that we were having another princess, but posted the photo on another gender site and all the women said boy! go for gender scan in 2 weeks and I just don't know how I will cope if I hear boy. That sounds so ungrateful and selfish I know, but this is our last baby (I can't have any more sections after this and another vaginal birth is a no no after my son's birth!) and I feel like I will be grieving the rest of my life for the second daughter I never had :( sorry, pregnant and hormonal here! My other 2 boys had very obvious stacked and short stumpy nubs by 13 weeks, this one is forked and long. So I was excited till I heard the other ladies predictions :S Does anyone here think there is any chance of a girl? Thanks in advance x

I could go either way on this. The problem is the nub can still be on the rise at this point and there is a lot of "activity" in the area of the nub-ish stuff that sometimes indicates a boy. But at the same time I do see something that seems girly to me. It's just not a great shot for guessing.

We will know more in a week.

Thanks for the reply. I am usually good at guessing other people's nubs but i am really stumped on this one! Will update after gender scan. Thanks again :)

At 13 weeks, I would lean more girl.

I'm going to lean boy, but I'm not very confident though. I would prepare to hear boy just in case. I do see how this could be a girl too. There seems to be stacking and the nub is very angled. On the other hand, the nub is long.

🤞🏻for you!

Thanks for the guesses, I am going to go in prepared to hear boy and then if she says girl it will be a lovely surprise. The line under the nub makes it look very long and parallel with spine so that makes me think girl but the line on top is whats bothering me. Baby was super active so i may be lucky and that might be part of the cord :)

Thanks for guess, i hope so! I know its been more or less discredited but we used the shettles method as it seem to have worked for us with other 3. DTD starting day after period ended up to 2 days before ovulation so fingers crosses!

Gender scan booked for a week on Friday! So nervous I feel sick just thinking about it! The place we are going to do 'gender scratchcards' so we are going to tell the tech not to tell us at the time but to give us the correct scratchcard and write gender down so no errors and reveal gender at home when hubby gets home from work. If i can wait that long lol!

Went for gender scan and had an extremely rude sonographer who had been called in as the usual girl was off sick. She made it so clear she didn't want to be there and told me as I am only measuring 15 weeks 4 days she wouldn't tell me gender! Was annoyed but I do understand .She said there genital tubercle is still long but there is no testicles/scrotum visible so she couldn't say! Going back next Sunday. That's the photos we got x

The girl who has done all our other gender scans has accurately done them from 15w4d on. This tech was covering for her and she so clearly did not want to be there. I was so upset at her attitude I sent them an email and they have told me to come in tomorrow (I will be 16w2d) so hoping it's one of the usual girls. If it's that same rude one I will walk out! lol!

So I am actually surprised at how I am feeling right now (blame those pesky hormones!) but went for gender scan today and the tech knew within moments what the sex was. We are having a little boy and whilst I was hoping for a girl (we have 2 sons 1 daughter) I am absolutely thrilled and already in love with our little boy! I cannot believe the rollercoaster of emotions pregnancy brings, but I am so amazed at how happy I am when for weeks I have been dreading hearing boy. Seeing him smile and move around on the scan made me love him instantly and now I cannot imagine wanting another girl. I know our family will be complete.
Thanks so much for all the guesses ladies, I think from the photo you will all agree he is ALL boy lol!
