View Full Version : Any logic in certain months to conceive a girl?

I read a few old posts that say summer conception sways girl and winter sways boy, my son was conceived in winter so I must admit it's making me a bit nervous to start my sway in October!

Is this a silly theory?

My son was conceived in July so it wasn't correct for me. I would worry about the month that much.

If it were true then it would be obvious by birth gender rates
For example in my group of friends (we met when we were all pregnant at the same time)
There is a 50/50 of boys and girls
And one mum with boy girl twins
So I don't think it makes a difference!

I think there are slightly more girls conceived in spring and slightly more boys in fall but nothing significant. It's not one of those things that's always true or can make or break a sway. FWIW My two oldest boys were conceived in summer and DS3 in the spring.

Ds 1 was conceived in September
Dd was conceived end of May
Ds 2 was conceived in April
Ds 3 was conceived in July

Ds1 was conceived in april and ds2 march... so spring doesn't work for me!

That's an old Ingender idea based on "ions" which make no sense and have never been proven to sway.

BUT there is some evidence that indicates seasons may matter a bit (not much, just a bit!) and you can read more about that in this thread. https://genderdreaming.com/forum/gender-swaying-general-discussion/1693-seasons-swaying.html

FWIW while it's great if this works out, it is only one tiny little thing. I got two boys in "girl" months and my girl in November so in my case it didn't keep me from conceiving those genders.

Really want to try this October so going to (try) keep this off my mind!!

I was born in January and my sister in august so trying to focus on that :p

Don't stress about this one bit! I conceived my baby girl in January, my DS3 in March (Peak girl month), my DS2 in August, and my DS1 in November. As you see, type of diet and exercise and number of attempts trumps the month of conception!

🤞🏻for you!!

got my boys in august, february, march and june all with no swaying

got my girls in september, august and january (january was a sway baby)

current team green pink sway baby was april but honestly i don't even factor boy/girl months in to my sways, do your time on diet etc and then just go ahead and ttc dont stress about what month it is :) good luck!!

My mom, myself, and my daughter are all conceived in "boy" months.

You being born in January would actually kind of support that theory BTW!

But please, ladies, don't get hung up on this. If it works out, great, if not, no worries.
