When to remove Mirena?

Hi ladies,

Just curious as to how long prior to ttc a boy you recommend having the Mirena removed? I know that catching the egg soon after it's removal sways pink. How long do you think this effect lasts? Has anyone got experience with conceiving a boy shortly after having the Mirena removed?

As far in advance as is possible.

There are still boys conceived, for sure, I've seen people get boys after Mirena removal, but I do think for your best shot you'll have it out 2 cycles in advance at least.

Took me 7 cycles after mirena removal to conceive my third baby which was a boy. Wasn't swaying though. Just took that long to conceive.

Thanks ladies. I think I just got in my head that it needed to be removed months and months in advance for blue so got in my head a minimum of 6 months. I'm wanting to ttc in April 2018 which is still 7 months off or so, however, my DP has definitely softened on the idea of #3 but perhaps not on the timeline that I'd like to go with. I don't want to get it removed without him being ok with the timeline but I also know that I should be able to convince him in the next 6 months too. I don't want to postpone getting it removed for him just to turn around in March and say he's ok with ttc in April and removing it late and swaying pink.

Mia that's what happened to me. Even though it played in my favor but I tried and tried forever to get dh on board and one day he just agreed.
