Hi again ladies,
I am swaying blue and have taken clomid this cycle. I am on Cycle day 16 and just got a positive OPK around 2pm. Our last BD was Wednesday night (the day before yesterday) we have been trying to get pregnant for about 6 cycles now. If I BD tonight, tomorrow am, tomorrow night and the next day do I still have a chance of getting pregnant? Last few cycles I was able to get an extra day or so in and still didn't get pregnant but I also wasn't on clomid. What do you think? Please share your expierences and Please give advise. Thank you!!

I also got only one positive OPK at 2pm today and now it's negative?? I usually get at least another half day of a positive OPK. Is this normal? What do you think?

Update!-I got another positive last night after the negative and then another positive at 6am and then a negative now at 10am. So I'm guessing I ovulated?

Yes you absolutely can still get pregnant!!! Get those attempts in!!! Keep going today too!! and then after this, if possible, go to every other day in case O is delayed!

The rates at which your OPK go negative DO NOT tell you if you have ovulated or not. KEEP BD!!! For at least today, you need to be in with one more attempt tonight and then even one tomorrow, then every other day.

You can have a negative test and still have not ovulated yet. NEgative tests do NOT mean you have already ovualted!!!!

Yes that is normal, sometimes you just have a short surge and your body clears it fast.

Okay, thanks atomic. So we BD Wednesday night, Friday Night, today (Saturday) in the early AM. Do you think I should BD tonight again and then tomorrow as well? Also if we BD'd tomorrow (Sunday) when should we do it? AM or PM? I'm thinking AM would be best/ideal?

Also, my OPK keeps going from positive to negative and back to positive again. Could this be from the clomid? Will it mean I might not ovulate? I've never had this happen before. I did ovulate on my own but it wasn't significant enough according to my OB. I am having all of the ovulation signs. Left side pain for two days, a little crampy today and my nipples always get sore. I'm just scared that I won't ovulate at all.

YES!! Keep going till you are sure you've ovulated. AM on Sunday is best since if the egg drops it will ~proabably~ be later in the day and we want the sperm ahead of the egg so they have time to capacitate.

Well, Clomid can cause false positive OPK for 3 or so days after you stop taking it so yes, it can cause that sometimes. I'm not sure that's what you're describing, though. If you are sometimes getting pos OPK and sometimes neg it can just mean that the concentration of hormone in your urine is lower/diluted sometimes (which is also normal).

I think you're ovulating now or about to - keep going with those attempts!

Okay I will keep going with my attempts. As long as you're not concerned about my weird OPKs. I'm on CD 18 now so my first positive OPK was approximately 8 days after the last clomid pill. I was testing with OPKs as early as CD 11 and kept getting negatives until CD 16. We BD CD 14, 16, 17 AM & PM then hoping to get another BD in tonight CD 18. Will I mess up my sway BD'ing that much? Also, I'm consistantly getting negative OPKs today but still feel some slight O pain. When should I stop BD'ing and what should my pattern be going forward?

For a blue sway you can bd as much as you like provided you're in your fertile window, so 3-5 attempts in that period is great. If it was me, I'd be going to every other day from here on. GL

DD2 is March. She's up and about now chasing after DD1 just wanting to be her. They're going to be mischief.

Lol! That's so funny. My little one is the same way with her older sister. DD2 was born at the end of January. DD 1 was March 22nd. How long have you been trying for a boy?

Yep this exactly!!! Go to every other day after the 3-5 attempts if you can. then if you end up gearing up and oing later have 3-5 more attempts.

Not actively ttc yet just in pre sway mode. We were always a two and done family so it's taking a while to shift that. I would love to be done but don't think my heart believes it yet so guess that means we're not. Just getting DP on board before full sway first part of next year.

Okay. I actually have tested out my positives and am now according to my period tracker app 6 DPO and feeling nothing. Pretty sure I'm out this month (again) and feeling so depressed about it. I got pregnant so easily in the past. I'm wondering if I have skinny PCOS? I am taking clomid. Do you think taking 50mg of iodine could help me? I've been reading it can. I'm so scared I won't be able to get pregnant again.

I am also possibly concerned that because I have had 2 C-sections that maybe that could be my trouble? I had an HSG done a month or two ago and they said all was normal. IDK.

I answer from oldest posts to newest. I need a few days to get through all the posts and when you bump your post it goes back to the top of rotation and it makes me take longer to get to it. I want you guys to get your replies as quickly as I can so please give me a reasonable amount of time to get back to you (3-5 days or even 7 sometimes.)

I am not sure what you're expecting to feel on 6 DPO?? You don't have pregnancy symptoms that soon. I know people think that they do but until the hormone is detectable on urine tests (you'd be getting a BFP) you won't have symptoms because the hormone isn't even in your blood yet.

Period tracker apps are not reliable anyway. Are you monitoring in any other way or just using the app?? If you have PCO the Clomid would help anyway.

Are you not already taking a prenatal or multivitamin?? Usually there is more than enough iodine in them. I would stick with the amount in your multivitamin and if you aren't taking on, please start.

I have people on here with 5 and 6 c-sections. If the HSG came back ok then this is probably just a case of the right sperm has not met the right egg yet.

Can you give me a recap of everything you guys are doing??? I may be able to figure something out we can tweak to boost odds of conception. :)

Ok got it. Sorry about that . So I’m currently 10 DPO and my progesterone level at 7 DPO was 18.6. We Did FR and then BD night of positive OPK and then twice next day and then again the next night. I’m taking a rainbow light prenatal, 2000 IU of vitamin D and a probiotic. My prenatal has 150mcg of iodine. Oh! And clomid 50mg days 5-9. I just posted another thread wondering what the difference is between taking it days 5-9 vs 3-7? Also, what I completly don’t understand is how I got pregnant with DD #1 first cycle and then my MC baby I got pregnant with first cycle but then DD #2 took a year and now it looks like it’s going to be the same this time around. Have you seen this a lot?

No please don't apologize, I just want you to get your reply as quick as I can esp. when time is of the essence.

I think I did spot and reply to your Clomid question.

Secondary infertility is unfortunately a mystery as to the reasons why. No one is really sure why it happens (probably lots of different reasons) that may have to do with the immune system that no one knows about yet. I do see it with regularity even among women who have had 4-5-6 kids sometimes. They'll suddenly have trouble conceiving when they didn't in the past and no one knows why.

I forgot to ask about what you thought about taking 50mg of iodine? Also, Is what I’m taking okay?

You don't need to since you already have that in your prenatal. :)

Yes prenatal, Vit. D, and probiotic I recommend for everyone. :)
